You ever feel alone in a crowd of people

So alone you can hear your heartbeat

So alone you can feel your skin crawling

Loneliness is a mindset

We build upon with our tears

It's a wall that keeps out the evil

that the world crumbs to

It's a safe place we take shelter

But it's provided like a trap

Sucking in the feeble minded

Who believes their thoughts are heard

Who believes these insignificant words

make a difference

All we do is internalize the pain

Because no amount of talking

can break the skin we use

to cover the darkness beneath

Words aren't enough to capture the monster inside

Media highlights nothing.

Tragedy is merely an extension of

the monster underneath the mask

We can do nothing

We can repair nothing

Until we rip off the top and fix what's underneath

We are stuck in repetition

Waiting

To find release

I call myself a poet but what do I know

I just throw words together

From the pit of my soul

Coming from a place of anger and hurt

That’s buried deep inside

Trying my best to bury my emotions

But they resurface

Now it’s clear to see that I’m hurting

Quickly I disguise it with a smile

Because it’s gonna take a lifetime before I let it all out .

I can’t tell someone I’m sad for no reason

It doesn’t make sense

To just be sad

I tell my paper because

It won’t ask questions

It just listens to every thought

Without expecting a reason why
