I think all media should have an “exclude tags” type function. Like I don’t know what movie I want to watch but I definitely don’t want to watch anything Christmas or Documentary

The excluded tags filter on Ao3 is such a fucking lifesaver. I love it so much.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms 

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

update: it's not exactly a copycat situation since 1) a few articles lied about erik denslow being a ceo when he's actually just the president of the company 2) erik denslow is still alive and expected to recover soon.

I would be so down for a 2hr long special where they reveal that the end of the show was actually Chuck’s ending and then show the original ending with everyone in the Roadhouse

But I think that, in a way, maybe it's a good thing, um, that the show, in my- to me, uh, I felt like the end of the show left- left me wanting more, and different- and it felt like it left- it left things unanswered. And it left storylines unresolved, and maybe open for future mining. So I'm gonna take that as a good thing, and like, maybe- maybe there is an opportunity to reboot or- or revisit, uh, the end of Supernatural in some way, at some point down the road. I'm convinced Mythbusters needs a reboot. Misinformation or mythinformation if you will, is at an all time high. We NEED the show that promotes critical thinking to come back. It doesn't need the same cast, in fact I think it would be better with some fresh faces. Imagine all the good it would do if you could just show your crazy uncle the Mythbusters reboot episode that debunks his anti-vaxx conspiracy in an easily digestible and entertaining format.

Do you guys think that after the Deadpool movies end, and the curtain closes, and the camera is no longer on him- do you think Wade talks as much?

Do you think that maybe it feels like walking off a full stage to find yourself in your dressing room alone, staring at the mirror?

We always see him talking but he knows about us watching. He is acutely aware he has an audience. Do you think he knows when the audience is gone and the big unseeing eyeball shifts away to find entertainment elsewhere?

I’m not saying he’s normal when our backs or turned, or he’s not himself, but maybe the performance turns off. Maybe it sorta takes Logan by surprise when Wade is quiet for the first time since he met him by his own violation, thinking about being perceived always, or existing in countless different versions of shows, comics, universes.

What do you think he does when he knows he’s not being watched? Maybe he does nothing different, but imagine it would be hard to ignore.

He hit the camera in the D&W and grabbed the mic. He always knows where the fourth wall is. When there is no fanfic or movie or comic or show, do you think he sees the fourth wall anyway? Or is it kinda like seeing something in your peripheral?

I’m probably gonna write a fic about this all one day.
