you watch them quietly for a few moments. it’s amazing how they can still look so good without trying at all, isn’t it? they’re completely at peace laying next to you: their face is softened, their muscles are relaxed, their breathing is slow and steady. even with bedhead, even if they snore, even if their body is twisted into inhuman contortions, they’re still a photo of serenity nonetheless.

as you stretch the tiredness out of your muscles, bringing your sight away from your partner has reminded you of all the things you have to do once you get out of bed. what a bummer, right? if only you had a good reason to stay cozy. just for one more hour…

you look back at your partner and suddenly get an idea. maybe they can be your excuse. 

“psst, hey,” you whisper, grabbing hold of their shoulder to encourage them to roll over onto you. they don’t say anything in response, but they come to consciousness just enough to help you shift their weight. they settle their head onto your chest, and within moments they’re back in dreamland like nothing happened. you watch their head rise and fall with your breaths and plant a kiss on their scalp.

slowly, you allow your eyes to close once again. you’ll surely wake back up once they begin to stir; then you’ll be ready to start your day. but for now, a few more moments of bliss with your beloved asleep in your arms fits right in with your morning routine.

If you ever want to create something regarding you and your f/o, go for it. Make the moodboard with the bright colors, draw that elaborate scene of you both. Make the fanfic of you two being the closest you've ever been, listen to music that describes y'all's dynamic. It doesn't need to be perfect, it matters that you're enjoying yourself. You don't need to be a master at color matching or drawing hands or describing scenes, you just need to have fun with what you do. And I promise, it is more than enough. No matter how insecure you feel about it, no matter how much you worry about it being "bad." Forget that. Think about how it makes you feel. Does it bring you joy? Warmth? Comfort? Good.
