@taylorswift ’s AMA performance still has me trembling and I cried the ENTIRE time. I just watched a decade of my life scroll across a tv screen. One of the greatest gifts my stepdad ever gave me was turning up T-100.3 hd while I was sitting in the back of his car and we were taking the curve between Monroe mills and the back entrance of Apple Valley drive and he said “Hey Rebecca, this girl reminds me of you. I think you sing like her. Listen.” He turned up the radio while I rolled my eyes, texting on my phone, and he gave me Taylor Swift. That night I counted out $15 out of my piggy bank. I gave it to my mom and I bought Taylor Swift’s debut album at Walmart which is sitting in a box with all my other most treasured items.

Some people have something they cling to their whole lives that travels with them and keeps reminding them of who they are and how they grew too. For me, that’s Taylor. I know that every ex boyfriend, ex friend, person who knows me will always think of me when they hear Taylor Swift.

I am proud of her, her achievements. I have poured my time and money into it in some small way, her making me feel part of it. I will always love her and I hope you all take time to watch her performance from tonight and experience what she has to offer the world and see the beauty that I see in her talent and devotion to music and art.

I would normally quote some lyrics here but until she owns all of her own music, I will just say - STREAM LOVER😭😭😭😭💕💕💕💕

This is a deeply personal post to me and I hope I can express clearly what I want to get across. I feel like this needs to be said. Especially with the current climate in the fandom.

As a religious person I am very sad and upset when I see others using their religion, specifically Christianity in my case, as a reason to be exclusive or hateful to others.

In my reading of the New Testament I have found it very obvious that Christ was an incredibly inclusive individual. In fact he often went totally against social norms to love and care for people. I could provide numerous examples, but that would make this post way too long.

In my opinion, if I call myself a Christian, I should be doing just that, loving and including, not judging or condemning. I deeply hope others will do the same and stop this culture of hate and fear.
