March 2024 Review
Annual word count: 44307
Monthly word count: 12980
Days written: 17/31
What did I like about this month?
I wrote the roceit fic, now named the (un)blind fuck and published it! I worked on it through the month and I’m very happy with the format I decided on for it, as I was waffling between play or prose format.
What did I want to do this month that I couldn’t?
I wanted to work on Liu Qingge lwlta, but not possible, sadly.
What do I want to accomplish next month?
Work on Liu Qingge lwlta and finish it basically.

Hello Mr.Gaiman
In Good Omens season 1 episode 1, Aziraphale justifies giving Adam and Eve the flaming sword because of Eve's pregnancy and they used the phrase "She's expecting already" but from what I researched, that phrase started getting used in the 1900's, so could you please explain why and how they used that phrase.
I'm a big fan of Good Omens, please answer whenever you are up to it. :)
Assume it's being translated from the original Angelish.

I know that from a modern western context Nie Huaisang's hobbies of collecting fans and pretty things, and painting and doing poetry instead of fighting is read as gender-nonconforming. And while that interpretation is perfectly fine and I do love seeing Huaisang play with gender in AUs, it's still pretty important to understand that in his own cultural context all of his hobbies are considered normal for a young man to have. Painting was one of the four arts of the chinese scholar, and so was calligraphy. These were all acceptable and even expected skills for a man to have.
Huaisang in canon isn't seen as womanly but as childish. He overindulges in his hobbies and refuses to do his job. He's physically frail, can't fight, refuses to try and train so he's also seen as lazy and alltogether not willing to bear the responsibility his station comes with.
And so, if you want to translate that to a contemporary society, he should ideally have interests that, while acceptable for a boy to have, are seen as trivial, as something it's a little cringe to still have a massive interest in as you grow up. And ideally something that carries a stereotype of laziness or physical weakness.
So what i'm saying is that modern AU Huaisang... is a gamer.

So I'm gonna be doing NaNo this year after a good while of recovering my writing energy, and I'm really excited about my story this year! This post is just to put this feeling down in words somewhere and also maybe to have a place to track feelings about my story this year outside of word count. I'd like to maybe hop into a few introduce your story and yourself threads on NaNo forums, so I'm off to do that!

Helpful and Preventative Stretches for Writers, Artists, and Gamers 💪🎨✍🎮
If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!
Start with hands up, fingers stretched out. Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.
Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.
Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.
Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times
Start with arms up, palms out. Bend wrists down until you feel the stretch, but keep your fingers loose. Hold 10 seconds. Bend wrist upwards, until you feel it in your wrist and arm. Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

I've been doing AO3 tutorials over on TikTok to help out new users (and veteran users!) with learning how to better use the site. One question that keeps coming up is how to search for your favourite ship being the main ship or the endgame ship instead of a minor or side ship.
Since AO3 isn't set up for doing that in the relationship tags, I thought I'd put the word out about some Additional Tags that authors might want to consider.
A/B-centric
Endgame A/B
Minor A/B
Eventual A/B
If enough authors use these, AO3's tag wranglers can make them canonical. That means that other users could search and filter based on those tags.
As always, tags are at the author's discretion, but I just thought I'd put these out there as an option for anyone who might be looking for them.

Officially, you’re a weak, D rank villain. Unofficially, you’re one of the strongest beings on the planet that is secretly employed to “train” fledgling heroes by giving them an easy first real fight. But one day an A rank villain crashes your heist and you must protect your “students”.
#a prompt not completed#perhaps a lil steam?#just.. i'm tired#i wanna write short things#janus is obviously the mc#uhh he has ''low-level'' illusion powers#anyway when the a rank villain crashes the heist#janus moves immediately to shield the others#his province is more general sensory manipulation#general telepathy#strings#probability#he's really really strong okay

A small unassuming tavern is run by a retired superhero. The janitor used to be the biggest mob boss in the world. The chef is a monster hunter. The waiter is the head of a massive cult. They don’t know each other’s identities. When the tavern is in trouble, all four thought: “I got this.”
#lamp!!#need i say more??#it would be the funniest thing if logan was the head of the cult#esp bc being logical can tip over#p easily into being manipulative#i'll figure it out later tho#not done#a prompt not completed
