Reading candlestick charts are easy once you get the hang of it. The candlestick shows 4 price points during each session, the open price, the closing price, the highest price for the session and the closing price for the session. Typically stock sessions on a 1 day candle stick chart is 10 minutes long, 1 week chart shows 1 hour for each trading day, 1 month & 3 month chart shows the session for each day, 1 year chart shows session for the week, 5 year shows the session for each month. The wide part of the candlestick that's colored red for a bearish session or green for a bullish session is called the body. The color shows red when the close price was lower than the open price and the color of the body will be green when the close price was higher than the open price. On the top and bottom of the body of the candlestick is the shadow aka the "wick", often you will see different lengths on the wick of the candlesticks, this is because the low and high prices throughout the sessions of the trading day. The recent IPO market has been red hot these last 12 months with well known company's going public and doing great in their debut, companies such as Airbnb, DoorDash, Snowflake & Peloton just to name a few, now you can add Poshmark to that list as well. Poshmark priced its IPO at $42 a share on Wednesday for a valuation of $3 billion and now the stock has soared to $97.50 per share by time it actually debuted on the market today. Much like eBay and Etsy, Poshmark allows people to sell clothing on their platform and connects them with customers who are looking to purchase clothing that sells usually at a more discounted rate than the brand new item from other retail stores. Poshmark increased its revenue for the 1st three quarters of the year 2020 by 28% from the same time a year prior to that to $192.8 million. The company was founded in 2011 and now has 31.7 million active users on the platform most of which are women. The tech giant Apple (AAPL) is planning on creating a self driving electric vehicle by the year 2024 according to a Reuters report. The company is allegedly working on battery technology to cut cost of the production while also placing a slew of technology for the vehicle. The Asset Turnover Ratio can indicate how good a company is at using their assets to create revenue. Traditionally, the higher the ratio is the better they are at creating revenue from their assets, the lower the ratio is an indicator that the company is not as good at using their assets to create revenue growth. Investors can use this metric to compare it to other companies in the same sector. The formula to calculate Asset Turnover Ratio is: Asset Ratio = Total Sales / Beginning Assets + Ending Assets / 2 Take total sales and divide that by the beginning assets plus the ending assets, then take the sum and divide it by 2. Value of a company's beginning assets can be found on their balance sheet at the start of the year and ending assets on the balance sheet at the end of the year. E-commerce giant Wish is planning an IPO with a share price between $22-24 per share for a valuation of up to $14 billion. The company wants to raise about $1.1 billion through its IPO and plans to list about 46 million shares on the market when they debut. Their IPO filing showed the huge focus the company has in China. Wish showcases a bulk of goods, from clothing, shoes, electronics and more for a discounted price that's hard to find on other online sites in their online marketplace.
