i need everyone to level with me here. i love jon and martin but i'm consumed by the idea of season five with jon and tim. the absolute misery of surviving in an apocalypse with no one to talk to but a man who would've killed you as indiscriminately as he would an enemy. even though, in what feels like a lifetime ago, you were once friends. struggling along together because there's nothing else to do, no one else who would want to see either of you, nothing here for you but one person who is barely a reprieve from constant pain. who still hates you, though not as much as he once did. maybe you start to rebuild. where else could you hide your face here but his shoulder? maybe both of you deserved this. maybe you really deserved each other. then, in the end, after everything feels like mending, he still has to kill you anyway.

happy tim stoker tuesday!! in celebration i iffer you this thought i just had, which is tim as a drag queen

kay so this ask is like at LEAST a month old but i couldn't stop thinking about it soooo.... TEEHEE

i had to draw. them all. i couldn't stop but also couldn't focus because they all look so very good and Distracted Me.

they're all in their own like. levels of drag. sasha and martin went all in, tim went almost all in minus deciding not to shave, and jon just put on a nice outfit and called it a day <3 (also tim and sasha are wearing contacts, i still hc them as needing glasses)

when jon was a kid, before his mom died, she would always make his tea with two sugars and a spoonful of honey. he’d sit at the kitchen counter, perched on a stool much too tall for him at that age, and watch her steep the tea, stir in the sugar, and finally take a big, heaping spoonful of honey and stir it in. jon doesn’t know if it was her choice or his; he can’t remember a time she didn’t put honey in his tea. it didn’t matter, because for the longest time, he wouldn’t drink it any other way.

it never quite tasted the same after she died, though. somehow, it just wasn’t as good when he stirred in the honey himself. by the time jon was in college, he’d stopped wanting his drinks to be so sugary anyway, and he stopped stocking honey in his cupboard.

the first time martin goes to the break room to make tea for his new boss (who he already has a crush on, unfortunately), he tries to guess how jon would take his tea. no milk, that’s for sure. one sugar. hm, on second thought, probably two. jon seems like the sort of person who doesn’t want anyone to know he likes a lot of sugar in his tea. and someone’s brought in a jar of honey that’s sitting on the shelf, so why not? and martin stirs it in.

jon doesn’t even look up from his desk when martin brings him the tea. martin smiles at him anyway, tells jon he hopes he likes it. tells him, half-jokingly, not to work too hard.

it’s almost ten minutes later that jon remembers the tea is there. he glances up from his paperwork and picks up the mug, still warm, that–martin? it was martin, he’s pretty sure–left for him. he takes an absentminded sip.

taste is one of the most powerful catalysts for memory. it all comes rushing back.

a moment later, there are tears dripping into the tea. he drinks more of it anyway, as though it could make the memories stay for longer, as though it could bring her back.

the tea is still a bit hot, but jon finishes it in five minutes.

the next day, martin brings him tea again, and this time, jon looks up.

“yesterday,” jon says, cutting off martin’s good-morning. “you put honey in it.”

martin blinks, unsure if he’s being accused of doing something horrible or not. “… yes? you didn’t like it?”

“no. no! I–” jon takes a breath. “that isn’t what I meant. it was good. I … it was really good. thank you, martin.”

martin smiles. he doesn’t need anything else. “sure. d’you want me to put some honey in this one, too?”

“yes, that would be–” but jon cuts himself off and stands up. martin isn’t a waiter. “here, I’ll come with you.”

while they’re in the break room jon makes martin a tea with honey, too. martin isn’t a fan of how sweet it is, but of course he drinks it anyway. and as jon takes a sip of tea from his own mug, he realizes that for the first time since he drank it as a kid, it tastes exactly right.
