She was dazed for a few moments before his words finally processed in her mind.  When they did, she suddenly jumped backwards and shook her head.

“Can’t go to the police. They can’t do anything.  They…they won’t do anything.  They won’t understand.”

Her bottom lip quivered and she took a deep breath.  Could she trust this man?  Wasn’t he the Hood of Starling City?  If he was a hero them perhaps she could trust him.

“There is a lab.  They took me and my brother.  I was able to get out…but Sebastian is still back there. They…they have him in a giant tank of goo.”

It was the same sort of goo that was frozen in her hair.  

She came forward suddenly, but stopped before she could actually grab him.  It was best not to startle someone with so many pointy objects on his person.

“Please, help me. Help me save my brother.”

The Arrow rarely patrolled at the edge of the city where Starling met the forest leading to Bludhaven but a drug bust brought him exactly there. His first instinct when he heard someone approach him from behind was to draw his arrow but at the sight of the distressed and naked female he raised his hand withdrawing the arrow back to his quiver.

“Hey-you’re safe. “ he spoke extending his hand over to her and looked around in case anyone was following her. “What happened to you?Are you hurt?” he asked more to figure out if he should have kept that arrow drawn.

“Why don’t you come with me and we find you some clothes? I have a friend down at the PD that can take a statement of you and help you get home” he offered trying not to spook her even more. A guy in a mask was not exactly the most comforting sight when distressed, right?

Sebastian’s face got a bit red, but Alex simply rolled her eyes.

“Both of you need to stop it.  Bas, Tony is going to be a great dad and he’s really great with me.  And Tony, Bas has been incredibly over protective since we were really little.  Please don’t take it to heart.  He’s never carried out his threats.”

Sebastian deflated a bit at that.

“Aww, Ally, you’re not supposed to tell him that.  Now I’ll never get any street cred.”

Alex sighed.  She was getting too old for this sort of thing, and way too damn hungry.  She quickly turned on her heel and started heading towards the entrance of the diner.

“Are you boys coming? Or do I need to eat the diner’s entire stock by myself?”

Blind Date

“Once you get something to eat you’re gonna go home and rest.You look like you just ran a marathon on Jupiter.”He smiled,eyes shifting down at her as she snuggled about against him.

Before they made there way into the restaurant,Tony placed on a pair of sunglasses and a ball cap.He did not want tp draw any attention at this time.The last thing Alex needed was to be stressed out by the paparazzi or obsessed fans.

When he was introduced to Sebastian he smiled.But his smile quickly faded when he threaten him.”One,park your threats in neutral.Two,I have tech take that can wreck the Hulk,so you back up  soar patch.Alex is in the most safest place in this God forsaken universe.I think she’ll be fine.Relax, Sabbie.”

No one knew about the pregnancy yet.  Alex wasn’t sure she wanted everyone to know.  She wanted her children to have a relatively normal life, but there was no way for them to be out of the spotlight with Tony Stark as a father.  That didn’t mean that they couldn’t have somewhat normal lives. She would make sure that they remained grounded, even if Tony insisted on spoiling them.

Once they were inside the limo once more, she snuggled up against Tony’s side, holding one of his hands in both of hers as she rested her head against his shoulder.  She was a mixture of incredibly hungry and sleepy.

She thought for a few moments about who had the best burger before telling Jarvis to head to a small family diner where she and Sebastian tended to go together often.  In fact, she wouldn’t be surprised if Sebastian was there around now for his lunch.

She nearly hopped out of the limo when they arrived and was scooped up into the waiting arms of her brother.  Sebastian had never actually met Tony, and this would be their first meeting.

“Tony, this is my brother Sebastian.  I had a feeling he would be having lunch here.”

“Where else would I have lunch?  This place has the best burgers and milk shakes.  And the hand cut fries are perfection.”

Sebastian looked Tony up and down before humming and making his way over to the billionaire.

“Welcome to the family Stark.  You hurt her, and your armor won’t be able to protect you.”

Blind Date

Tony was so excited he actually recorded the babies sounds on a handheld device he kept around his wrist in the shape of a watch.He was planning to play it over again at a later time.Possibly before bed.

“Everything better be okay or I’ll fire you.”He said to the doctor before looking back at Alex and kissing her lips.”Yeah,you can have all the burgers you want babe.”He pressed a soft kiss against her lips.:If these sounds somehow end up on someone;s Facebook or Youtube channel I’m gonna sue the scrubs off of everyone in this hospital.” He added before walking out of the hospital,hand in hand with Alex.

“Jarvis,take us to a burger joint.Whichever one Alex wants.” 

“Yes,sir.”Jarvis responded.

A single tear slid down her face which she quickly brushed away.  It was the most beautiful sound that she had ever heard.  She had never thought she would be able to have even one child with how sick she had been as a child; and she had worried her fertility had been ruined by the experiments her parents had done, but to learn that she was carrying twins after that past fear filled her with joy.  She knew it would be hard, but she couldn’t bring herself to care.  And she had Tony there to help her.  She knew that her children would never want for anything.  

She took a deep breath when it came time to ask the big question.

“Are they…are they okay?”

“Everything seems fine now, but the stage it still too early to tell if there are any possible defects.  We’ll have to wait another month before we can begin to tell anything. Given your medical history, I can understand your concerns.”

Alexandra nodded, and after the image of their twins was printed out, she prepared to leave.

“Do you think…we could maybe stop for burgers on the way home?”

Tony did the best he could to comfort her as they made their way to the hospital.He lied her head against his chest,caressing her stomach and frequently kissing her cheek.”Hey,things are gonna be okay.I promise.”He said sincerely. 

Once they arrived,he stood by her side doing the best he could to support her and comfort her.When it was revealed that they’d be having twins,even though he was prepared for it,he was shocked.But once he heard the heartbeats, a gentle smile formed on his lips.”My…”He was speechless in a good way.

Seeing Tony look a little shell shocked made her feel a lot better.  Finally it seemed like Tony understood the gravity of the situation. She silently smirked to herself before following Jarvis out to the limo and giving the butler’s hands a small squeeze to help reassure herself.

Once in the limo, she lapsed into silence again.  It wasn’t because of anything emotional, she was just content with long periods of silence.

Once inside the hospital room, and on the exam table, she began chewing at her finger nails.  It was a habit from childhood that she had thought she had gotten over, but the nervousness had just made it all come back.

There was a few minutes of talking, and then the lights were out and the ultrasound machine was turned on.

The image was blurry, as what was growing inside of her was still pretty ill-defined and incredibly small, but she knew what she was looking at before the doctor said it.

“It looks like you’ll be expecting twins.”

Her breath went out of her in a whoosh and she looked up at Tony with a mild terror in her eyes, which quickly washed away the second the beating of hearts filled the room.  She could hear her babies; and it made a sense of calm fall over her.

Tony smiled after he gave her the love smack on the butt.But after he called Jarvis,he noticed her mood change significantly.Could it be that she was beginning to feel ill again?Those were thoughts that lingered through his mind before she revealed what was really troubling her.

“Twins?”Well it made sense.He responded in Tony Stark like fashion.”Well,that date did get a little bumpy.”He teased.In all honesty the man was terrified.He wasn’t even sure if he’d be able to handle and here they were possibly expecting two.

“Sir,the limousine is prepared.”Jarvis said as he entered the room.

“Thanks Jarvis.Babe,let’s go.”

She can’t remember how she’s gotten here.  There are woods, she remembers stumbling through the woods.  She knows that there are dry leaves in her hair.  But she’s so cold and she’s so afraid of whatever came first that she can’t think, can’t remember.

She’s left the forest behind though, and bleeding feet are now on the smoother wet hardtop of the street.

It’s so dark, that she can barely seen.

And she’s so cold.

There is light now, and she’s not alone, but she’s having a hard time finding her voice.  The medical bracelet around her wrist slips lower on her arm as she tries to cover herself, to keep herself warm more than to hide anything.

She looks up slowly, towards the person with the light.

“Please, help me.”

Alexandra jumped a bit at the smack to her butt, and gave a gentle roll of her eyes, but she wasn’t really annoyed.  She really tended to get happy for a while after Tony gave her kisses like that.

But when Tony called for Jarvis, she suddenly got very nervous.  She was afraid about the appointment.  What if the doctors found something wrong with her baby?  She took in several deep breaths before feeling a warm press against her mind.

Her brother, who could speak with her telepathically, was sending her calming vibes.  She silently thanked him before taking Tony’s hand.

“I should warn you.  As a twin, I have a higher chance of having twins of my own.  Today...we’ll find out if it’s one or...two.”

Tony knew she most likely wasn’t gonna find his joke amusing,but he figured since she knew him as a person,she’d know that it was harmless.”Lighten up,soar patch.You know that I’d give my own heart to ensure the safety of our baby.”He retorted sincerely.”I mean,I literally can not wait to tell our child that anything the light touches is our kingdom.A king’s time as ruler was and falls like the sun.”He smiled against her lips before kissing her passionately.

“I’m leaving out the part with the sun setting on my time.”He smiled,giving her buttocks a gentle smack.”Sure,I’d be delighted to see our child.Jarvis,get the limo ready.” He called out to his butler.

Alexandra rolled her eyes as Tony’s joke.  It wasn’t very funny.  She already loved her child very much and the very idea of putting anything in their head was incredibly unfunny to her.

“Don’t joke about our baby, Tony.”

She reached up and ran her hand through Tony’s hair before kissing his lips lightly, now that her mouth was fully clean.

“I have an appointment in a few hours.  Do you want to come with me?  You’ll get to see the baby.”

Tony sighed,placing his hands on his hips.“ Oh dear God.” No matter how much he read about being a father there wasn’t any real way to prepare for it.“ Okay honey,just um,breathe.” He slowly began cleaning her mouth with a cloth.“ Once he finished he chuckled like Goofy.

“Well, my aspirations to take down Hydra will have to go to the wayside for a while, but Sebastian loves doing my dirty work.”

The fact that Hydra killed their parents meant he wanted them taking down just as much.

“We’re going to be okay, Steve.  I’m sure the baby will be safe in the tower with all the security.”

She took a deep breath.

“I was thinking.  If it’s a girl, maybe we could call her Sarah, for your mom.  Or Amelia for mine.  Or maybe some combination of the two.”

“I-Uh-What? You’re pregnant?” Steve panicked on the inside but tried to keep it together for Alexandra’s sake. “Are you sure?”

She frowned in the shadow of her hood.

“That doesn’t sound good.”

She slipped off of her desk and pondered if she had seen any signs while she had been in the building.

“Other than the initial lock on this place, I’ve only come across one locked door.  There could be something to that, considering this place is supposed to be abandoned.  As for why I’m here…”

She shrugged.

“Unlike you, I don’t feel the need to give out my goals.”

She moved closer to him, wondering what he looked like behind his helmet.  Then again, he might be wondering what she looked like beneath her hood.  She turned quickly before she actually got to him and raised a hand, making a small gesture that he should follow her.

“I’ll lead you to the door. It’s not like I have anything better to do this evening.”

She sighed, as if helping him was a major burden as she led the way deeper into the warehouse.  There was what could be considered a manager’s office with a boarded up window where the manager would have looked out over the warehouse floor.  She pointed to it.

“There.  That is the only door that is locked in this place. I would have gone for the windows but…the sonic doesn’t work on wood.”

Hoods

When he did the imitation of the hyenas, she could see the scene in her head.  Lion King was such a classic movie.  It was one of the first ones that she had actually seen in theaters. And then Tony mentioned going back to his place where he had a theater.  She thought for a moment.  She didn’t usually go home with someone on a first date, but it wasn’t like she couldn’t take Tony Stark without his armor if he tried something funny.

“Well, I am partial to The Nightmare Before Christmas, while not a classic; the season does fit.  But Mary Poppins is such a beautiful movie. I used to wish that I could disappear into paintings when I was little.  I even tried my hand at drawing and hoping that some magic would let me disappear into my scenes.  I wasn’t very good though.”

Blind Date

Tony wasn’t about to let her shortchange Mufasa like that.He was his favorite character during the movie.He even wrote a letter to Walt Disney petitioning and urging them to resurrect the character.”Old and wise?That’s it?What about his manly intimidating voice,huh?That lion could make the Hulk shiver.”He spoke with a serious facial expression.”What about how the hyenas here his name and they shut up,huh?Mufasa…woooooo….Mufusa,,woooooo.”He smirked at her.

“No,I suppose you can’t go wrong with Disney.”He agreed.”You know,back at place I have a movie theater.We can pop in a Disney” classic to top off the night.You can even pick the movie out.”

It seemed like Tony always knew what to do to cheer her up.  His Disney impressions always put a smile on her face, even when she wanted nothing more than to be angry.  

If she hadn’t just been sick, she probably would have kissed him.

“You’re so good to me Tony.”

She gave him a small hug before grabbing her toothbrush for the umpteenth time that day and beginning to clean her mouth out.  Once she was done, she placed a minty fresh kiss on Tony’s cheek.

She never thought that she would be carrying Tony Stark’s kid, but she had a feeling that he would actually be a very good father.

“Our child had better become addicted to Disney, just like us.  Otherwise, they’ll stick out like a sore thumb..”
