Realized I didn’t say as clearly as I could which are requirements for which clans;

FireClan;  heat immunity, control of fire & temperature

AirClan; wings, control of air, ability to breathe in high altitudes

WaterClan; gills, control of water

EarthClan; control of earth

everything else for each clan is optional! If your cat does not have these traits but is born into a clan, they would be raised outside the camp until warriorhood, at which point they have the option to test for these skills again. if they do not have them, they would be kicked out of the clan. cats with the traits of multiple clans would go to the one they have more of, but would be considered an outsider. this isn’t a positive thing, to be clear, and in character opposition of these norms Is Allowed, and preferred in characters that are supposed to be good aligned.

Lore

Each clan has a patron, who each created their camps in their mythos. They fought each other extensively, before finally settling on a truce and going dormant. Cats who cannot control their element to some extent are considered outcasts, and raised outside the camp until warriorhood, at which point they are kicked out entirely. 

The names of the patrons are lost to time, and often referred to as gods or goddesses, depending on individual preference, and may also be referred to as The Patron- it is usually assumed that cats mean the patron that matches their element.

AirClan cats

-may often grow feathers

-often extremely furry in addition

-all have feathery wings

-may have talons in place of paws, beaks in place of muzzles, or tailfeathers in place of a tail

-immune to cold

-can breathe in extremely high altitudes

EarthClan cats

-very furry

-paws are often wide, very adept for digging

-built for muscle and strength

-tail may be short and bobbed

-may have outcroppings of gems or crystal growing through fur, often hidden by said fur

WaterClan cats

-even mix of fur and no fur

-often many frills and fins

-tail may split at the end and start to resemble aquatic creatures

-eyes may lose pupil

-may grow bioluminescence 

-may grow extra teeth/replace them at a fast rate

-all have gills

FireClan cats

-typically furless!

-may grow bat wings, horns, and spikes along spine or paws turn into talons

-teeth may turn into sharper fangs and saber teeth

-cats may grow a mane

-may grow scales and lizard skin instead of fur

-tails may start to resemble lizard tails!

-immune to heat
