Update from the art section ;) Happy pride month people! (better late than never, right?)

Happy Pride Month Henry and Alex! A little late, but I’ve been ridiculously busy with work and other things the last month and I’ve had precious little time to draw for fun… Here is a piece I started in May, but never finished though. It was supposed to be the boys on the balcony of their brownstone, happily watching the pride parade… but now I’ve decided to ditch the background I didn’t have time to draw and publish it anyway :D Before June is over, that is! It’s a watercolor /digital collage of sorts. Background and flags in watercolor, the rest is digital, with added layers of textures.

Okay so like in all honesty, I’m trash, and even though I run “the fandom server” for it, I haven’t read much FIC for RWRB at all, and it’s simply because it was around the time the panoramic really hit and I reverted to my wolfstar roots LMFAO but I’ll list some really amazing works/peeps below.

The Poem You Make of Me  »  Cmere  »  Like obviously my first recommendation, like obviously it’s Bethany!!! But listen, listennnn. She’s quite literally the most talented, most remarkably gifted soul i have ever met! The way you will just absolutely devour her words!! She will make you laugh, and sob and get Henry on main and get contemplative for no God damn good reason! And this is her magnum opus!! Her master piece!! It’s based off of a conversation in canon in which Henry says if he was born into a normal family, he’d be w writer, and Alex says he’d be a model. So Beth just went ahead and constructed such a rich and beautiful story full of magnificence and beauty and poetry and getting to see it coming from her rough drafts to standing as like one of the best pieces of fiction I HAVE EVER READ has been such a ride, and I will forever be thankful for this story!!!

If You Hold Me Without Hurting Me, You’ll Be the First Who Ever Did  »  Cmere  »  I could really just list off this bitches entire fucking repertoire— but I won’t. But if the former is her magnus opus, this is simply just the most heart aching and glitteringly gorgeous thing I have ever read— EVER READ—- it’s Henry’s perspective of his and Alex’s time in the Lake House, and her ability to wiggle into Henry’s mind and stroke out such gorgeous words and perfect characterization and flawless thought processes— it makes me go static with feelings and I will forever hate her for this!!!

The Bet  »  bleedingballroomfloor  »  I’ve only ever heard the best things from this FIC!!! Mal is a gorgeous writer and a brilliant mind and so, so wonderful! This is definitely a Fandom classic, hands down, and one of those things you have to read if you’re part of it!! And God, I don’t wanna spoil anything, but everyone has one specific part in this FIC that made them absolutely dissolve and I can’t wait to feel the full impact once I read it and cry about it and yell at this whore for it!!

Also absolutely anything by @tedddylupin @im-captain-egg @bi-disaster-fsotus is ABSOLUTELY SURE to be glorious!!!! <3<3<3 Beautifully sided little hoes!!!

And just because I’m conceded, I’m gonna add in my own FIC that I’m sorta proud of lol, don’t give me that look Linda!!! I do what I want!!!

So, a friend over at the rwrb discord server wanted some pictures of Henry looking hot/cute/... for a Photoalbum fic. I don’t know if this is suitable, but I went all in on different Prince Henry looking adorable scenes, and now I can’t stop... send help please!!😅

I think this is so important, and also sad (like, that it even has to be said). Sure, I don’t know much about the art industry, but it seems like there’s a fixation on age today. The most important thing is to be young, somehow... But, like, look at it historically. Some of the greatest artists of all times only had like 10-20 active years before they died/quit. Van Gogh, he started drawing when he was 27-ish (did’t have the energy to google) and when he started he wasn’t even very good... He died about ten years later and still is one of the most famous artists of the last centuries. What if he had had tumblr/twitter/insta and said, “Naaa. There’s a fourteen year old with more talent than me out there, I’m just going to throw in the towel and quit”?

Hypothetically speaking. ‘ if someone wanted to start drawing at a teen age do you think she or he would as good as the people who worked their whole lives’

I don’t think people fully realise that “teen age” is, how do I put it, Young As Heck? 😭 I understand (and remember) that living for like 12-18 years feels like A LOT, but in a grander scale of things it really isn’t. 25 is young. 33 is young.  So If you do start at a teenage age, you have SO many more years ahead of you, I wouldn’t really be worried about not drawing since you were, say, 5.  It helps, yeah, but it shouldn’t stop you from starting something! No age is too old to start Anything you’re interested in!  Life is (ideally) quite long. There shouldn’t be a certain age you pass and think that, no, I am already too old to start learning that, you aren’t! Life is for learning new things, regardless of ones age^^ And also, there Always will be people better than you at something. There are plenty of 16 year olds with much larger potential and art predisposition than me. Already, so much better than me even if *technically* I had like a 10 year old early start compared to them. There are plenty people my age that aren’t as experienced at art as me. Regardless of your age, it will always go both ways. You will always be better than someone at something you do, and worse than someone else, just because...there are just so many people and it’s just how it works. So I don’t think that comparing yourself (with no experience in drawing) to someone who has been drawing for a long time (and most likely started as inexperienced as you) would be a very healthy approach.  I’d definitely say don’t let your age stop you. Whatever it is. It’s never too late to start something and I Sincerely Mean It.

I’m mostly reblogging this random post because I recently talked to a friend, who wants to be an author, and did NOT follow neil gaiman on Tumblr, and I was like, what? How is that possible? He is the most hilarious and generous person on this platform, or possibly earth, and his account is the reason I even joined tumblr to start with... 

I always get you and Garth Nix mixed up. Any suggestions on avoiding this?

You could paint one of us red. Garth, perhaps. And then, when you are wondering which one of us is which, you could examine us for red paint, and if you couldn’t see any it would be me, and if you could, it would be Garth.

Hiya everyone!

We’re both so excited to finally begin the second round of sign-ups for the Bang! And it’s coming together amazingly!

So we have our artists and they’re all working hard to have their creations prepared for April! But now we’re calling out for the writers, betas and pinch hitters to join in on the fun! 

The guidelines for Writers is written out in our Rules page, so please read that and familiarize yourself with our expectations. However, if you ever have any questions please don’t shy away from asking us💜 If you are wondering, there are probably at least two others who are questioning the same thing and we want everyone to know what’s going on! 

But just as a quick reminder, authors will expected to have 5k words written out for their assigned art pieces, and the way things are looking, there will be a surplus of authors in comparison to our artists. So it will be almost assured that each art piece will have two authors assigned to it, but you guys don’t have to worry over that side of things<3 

The only things authors should concern themselves over is using the below link to sign up and enjoy themselves! And PLEASE pleaseeee remember to reblog this as a signal boost!!!!!
