A Wild Battinson (Social Media AU)
Part 57 (Masterlist)

Part 58 Coming At Some Point
@bruciemilf
Hey so uhh it's been a while. (If you look closely, squint a little, I literally made some of these photos over a year ago. I feel SICK. This AU is ancient.)
Here’s the SNL episode once again for the uninitiated.
Okay so hear me out. I know a lot of people were excited to see Caleb discover the batcave yada yada but the #1 rule is No One Figures It Out. Otherwise, the entire point of the series is obsolete and it ends. (Tim does find out ofc but not Caleb. None of the main cast. No OCs.) So he gets let go from babysitting Dick and Jason, mostly because Bruce and Alfred realize their mistake, and he never sees the batcave. RIP. ANYWAYS hope y’all forgive me. Didn’t realize I was implying that until everyone started screaming about it in the comments. Caleb is still blissfully unaware :)
No idea when the next part is coming out. I am currently in an airport banging this out before I convince myself not to post it AGAIN but you guys deserve better. It’s the holidays. So Merry December 19th-ish. Peace :)

In E2/S1, we see that Ximena lost 2 fingers in the snowstorm she and Jayce got caught in when Jayce was still a child:
Tumblr media
Afterwards, these fingers were replaced by prostheses (probably made by the young boy/man himself):
Tumblr media
That Viktor saved Ximena and Jayce from death but didn't cure Ximena's necrosis isn't an inconsistency, given Vee's willingness to heal all wounds, whatever they may be. No. He did this deliberately.
For Viktor wanted Jayce to grow up with a disabled mother so that he would learn not just to look at the disability, but to see beyond it. To see that his mother, despite her mutilated hand, had remained a normal woman capable of resilience, a complete woman despite her missing fingers—better: a complete woman with her missing fingers, full of qualities, resources and ingenuity to compensate for her condition and try to live as normally as possible—and a woman and mother who was always beautiful, intelligent, loving and worthy of being loved unconditionally in return by her son and everyone around. As we all know, sadly some people are left by their significant other, abandoned by their loved ones when a crippling illness or accident befalls them. But Jayce, thanks to his mother's impairment, has learned tolerance, as well as to love deeply beyond appearances and to directly perceive, reach for and love the soul of a person, the whole soul, excluding neither qualities nor flaws, whether real or supposed, physical or mental—for the soul is made up of all these things at once, and this teaching was engraved by force of circumstance in his own soul, or somewhere in his left wrist, in the form of a superb cerulean rune symbolizing love.
That's why, when Vee comes out of stasis in season 2, Jayce is at first surprised, then later, happy that his partner is alive, but makes no remark about his Hexcore-altered body. On the contrary, he even worries that he's cold because he's naked, but Viktor's impressive and terrible physical transformations don't disturb him any more than that. Similarly, while he hopes the Hextech will cure Viktor's respiratory disease because he's afraid of losing him, when it comes to his bad leg on the other hand, he makes him a new brace to make his life easier (just as he is likely to have designed his mother's prostheses to compensate for her limitations), but doesn't consider that the Hexcore could cure it for him as if it were a shameful anomaly (now shifting his inclusive vision of Ximena's condition onto his partner). (Admittedly, Jayce's overall stance on the matter could still could be seen as ableism, but that's not the viewpoint adopted by this post...)
And he owes it all to Viktor. His words to Vee:
"You’ve always wanted to cure what you thought were weaknesses. Your leg. Your disease. But you were never broken, Viktor. There is beauty in imperfections. They made you who you are. An inseparable piece of everything I admired about you."
are therefore nothing but the result of Viktor teaching young Jayce what true love is through Ximena's disability, which was therefore the sine qua non for Jayce to love Viktor unconditionally.
Going a step further, this crucial event for kid Jayce is also what subsequently shaped the rest of his personality and his life: wanting to reproduce the thaumaturgic magic of his childhood, he became avid for scientific research, inventions and technological innovations, resenting the fact that he had to succeed his parents at the head of their hammer-making business and preferring independent manual or intellectual work in the seclusion of a forge or lab. At exactly the same time, a few miles further down in the canyons, another lonely boy was sailing a miniature mechanical boat of his own invention, dreaming of sharing his passion with other children...
Just as Viktor's disability forced him into solitude and thus into the development of an extraordinary intelligence oriented towards a taste for study and handicraft (otium), Ximena's disability, intentionally left untreated by future!Viktor, determined Jayce to also choose otium over the vile trade of the bourgeoisie (negotium), making him an outsider in his own community, just as Viktor was among his own people.
And so, like a demiurge, future!Viktor molded Jayce in his own image.
Without that accident and Viktor's willingness not to correct it, Jayce would never have loved Viktor as deeply as he does. He might even have been repulsed by this man with his sick leg and lungs... Without Ximena's misfortune, there would have been no love between Jayce and Viktor. No Jayce saving Viktor. No Viktor saving Jayce. No Jayce or Viktor saving humanity from extermination by sacrificing themselves together, their death being the very seal of their union, the ultimate fulfillment of their destinies so ineffably intertwined from all eternity as twin flames, archetypes of Love in all its forms.
And what's really beautiful about all this is that it shows that future!Viktor was finally able to comprehend that it was through disability that Jayce's love for him could be born. In other words, this is an old Viktor who has become aware that imperfections, differences, otherness and suffering as serious, irreconcilable and tragic as they may be, do not prevent sincere, boundless love between beings, and can even help to bring it about and save the world.
Yes, that's how much Viktor was in Jayce's life from his earliest years, perhaps even from before they were both born (it's the principle of predestination), how much he forged his partner's destiny as a man, an inventor, a researcher, a scientist and a lover. You might think that this is a form of abuse, but it's not. Viktor simply conditioned Jayce to love him because it was their destiny and their love, whatever its nature, is pure and absolute, a fruitful love that will give Piltover and Zaun a new start in lasting peace.
The wound is the very condition of love. It makes us vulnerable, and therefore opens us up to humanity—our own and that of others—and thus to love. And love itself is a wound, because the (amorous) encounter with the Other is always brutal and never leaves us unscathed. It burns, it scratches, it dazzles in awe, ravaging us internally, splitting us open and mutilating us. Yes, wound is the primary condition of love, as well as its most vivid, its greatest, its most glorious consequence.
Wound and love are initiations from which we emerge radically different, because we finally become ourselves. This was Viktor's path of initiation throughout his years, perhaps centuries, of "dreamless solitude", longing for his Jayce, awaiting his return as his god, messiah and saviour, and it was this path that he induced Jayce to follow from an early age, who in turn initiated his present!Viktor, who then died in the arms of his soulmate. The perfect virtuous circle of cosmic swains, eternally turning in on itself and self-engendering in an ether known only to them, hidden from the unholy eyes of ordinary mortals. For true love, that which borders on the absolute, must always remain secret, otherwise it risks being destroyed forever. And "arcane", in Latin, means "secret". The story comes full circle.

I will never be over Viktor and his emotional support blanket. Like I get the symbolism but it’s hard to take his master plan too seriously at any given time when you realize.
————-
Viktor (a 100 foot tall semi-omnipotent hive mind god): “I have superseded the shackles of emotion and will bring glorious evolution to all the peoples of the realm.”
Jayce: “Hold on, what is that you’re wearing as cape? Is that… is that MY blanket?”
Viktor (sheepish): “…so.”

One of those goofy maid animes, except the viewpoint character isn't the hapless master or mistress of the house, but a regular-ass janitor who ended up on this crew due to a paperwork mixup at the temp agency and can't figure out what the fuck is wrong with her co-workers.

Let us appreciate how gracefully and elegantly Marionette's porcelain body is displayed.
When this is the aftermath of the Council's room fight.

Do I imagine Jayce picking up Viktor's Marionette and posing it artfully on the table? Yes, absolutely.
