WHICH TYPE SHOULD I BUY?
Here we break down the two types that you can get for your skin Chemical and Physical. When you buy something that will be getting full contact with your skin, you want to make sure that it won't irritate or mess up your skin
PHYSICAL SUNSCREEN
According to the Healthline article about “Chemical and Physical,” Physical gives broad spectrum protection by reflecting UV radiation away from the skin. Dr. Timmons states that It is a bit heavy since it doesn’t fully absorb into the skin quickly so it can be less transparent (Timmons 2022).
CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN
On the other hand, we have chemical sunscreen that doesn’t sit on the skin nor block the rays, it has ingredients that absorb UV rays before your skin can soak them up. They are more transparent which makes them friendly for all skin tones and easier to apply default. Jessica Timmons, the writer of this article states explains that It's important to know this before buying, they both are great it's just important to keep wearing them consistently (Timmons 2022).

SPF BENEFITS
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, It is scientifically tested that regular daily use of SPF 15 can reduce developing squamous cell carcinoma by 40 percent and lower your melanoma risk by 50 percent, powerful if I do say so myself (Richard 2022).
Northwestern Medicine states SPF can prevent premature skin aging like wrinkles, sagging, or even age spots (M. NWE 2022).
Sunburns truly that feeling when you are in the sun for hours but knowing you are safe because you applied your sun protection lotion is a relief because no one wants to deal with skin peeling and inflammation for the next week, ouch.

What is Sunscreen & How does it work?T
The American Cancer Society go into more detail about this magic product, how it works is that it blocks those harsh UV rays created by the sun or even our electronic screens that cause harm to our screens. The acronym SPF means “Sun Protection Factor,” which is seen on the bottles and followed by a certain number is in the front.
They explain that citizens should want to focus on that number because that is what indicates how long your skin stays protected so you want to choose the highest if possible. It is stated by the American Cancer Society that using SPF 30 or higher is the best for the skin since it filters the UVB rays more.

LETS TALK SKIN PROTECTION?
Let’s be honest girls, this time of the year is so freeing, and we want to be doing as many summer adventures as possible during our break with friends and family which is so exciting. One popular activity I feel like a lot of us participate in is going to the beach and getting that summer tan so we can look like glistening barbies but, are you doing this with protection. The most important topic that should be talked about right now and forever is the importance of sunscreen or in their words SPF.
