i think that a lot of what gets billed as "transandrophobia" that isnt incoherent is simply "misogyny" but people are reluctant to admit this because the notion that transgender men might sometimes experience misogyny makes a lot of gender aphorisms from which facts are derived incoherent. how can one reconcile statements like "trans men are men" with "sometimes people are misogynist to transgender men". and the answer is you can't because these gender aphorisms are born from contexts of advocating for certain legal "rights" by building on "born this way" rhetoric that are not capable of being serious analytical tools with explanatory power
#i do want to believe a lot of the people using that term are just using it bc admitting to experiencing misogyny can cause dysphoria#bc yeagh it sucks to be like. seen as a woman no matter what. but that is what a lot of anti transmasculine rhetoric is. it's misogyny#usually flavored with ableism. and it is transphobic but its like. the misogyny isnt. the misogyny is bog standard if extremely ableist#i dont want to explore this bc it makes me like. really dysphoric but i think it's important to understanding why transmisogyny is its own#term and transandrophobia cant really be one? and it has to do with perception#trans men are seen by transphobes as not-men (expected). trans women are seen as not-men (threat to patriarchy)

Im honestly still not over horizon zero dawn being touted as a feminist game and then literally EVERY man having a fridged wife/sister/mom/daughter in his backstory. It was frankly a comical amount of dead women in backstories.

That's my problem with astrology actually. I simply deeply, completely reject that any human being can be defined by the conditions of their birth or should be judged by that. You may say "oh oh but astrology is just a fun quiz game" well then, it's pointless. (and also not true, there are cases where astrology is taken very, very seriously, historically and today). Even if it's just a loose personality test (which again, pointless) I just reject the idea that people are born a certain way and can't change, because to me, that's the core idea behind every single form of prejudice
Also I was a fan of Carl Sagan and wanted to be an astronomer as a kid so you can imagine how annoying it was when people asked me about horoscopes.

I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

i don't quite agree with the "it's not left vs. right, it's up versus down" meme- while "up vs down" (ie owning class versus working class) is of course the primary conflict, "left vs. right" does relate to like, significant differences in approach to how to address the "up vs. down" conflict, and one of these approaches is obviously better than the other in this regard.
but i will say that a right-wing working class person is, usually, someone you can and should try to win over.
and a "left-wing" wealthy person is a scorpion on your back. they cannot change their class interests.
#i think more common than class traitors are people who shifted class and that shifted their political outlook tbh. or 'class traitors'#being people who have experienced being working class#like. as much as i care for a certain part of my family. they have said and done things that show they do not believe the same rules apply#to them. no amount of generosity erases that in my mind#i think for bougie people to really be leftists they have to engage with the world beyond their control tbh#no pseudo-journeying. experience the world most people have no choice but to experience#and no safety nets or quitting bc it sucks bc we dont get that choice#i dont mean poverty cosplay btw. no throwing away money. thats stupid. just experience the systems regular people also experience
