Cyclovia Tucson organizers have created ANOTHER brand new route for the fall, a 2.25 mile-long route connecting three of Tucson’s most beautiful and unique neighborhoods to the El Rancho Center Business District, Tucson’s Botanical Gardens, Catalina High School, and more. Experience a part of town in a new way - outside of your car! New to Cyclovia Tucson? Here’s five things you should know: 1. It’s FREE and is organized for you by Living Streets Alliance, a non-profit advocacy organization working to promote healthy communities by empowering people to transform our streets into vibrant places for walking, bicycling, socializing, and play. 2. You do not need a bike to participate, it’s not a race. You are free to walk, skate, stroll, jog, or amble as you please. 3. There’s no starting point, no official “end” – you can hop on or off the route where ever and when ever you please. 4. People traffic along the route flows in both directions, just like regular traffic. 5. Free activities line the route and are concentrated at “Activity Hubs”. Here you’ll find a variety of entertainment, food trucks, activtites, information booths, restrooms, free water to keep you hydrated, and more. Stop in and stop often at these bustling hubs. For questions about how to participate or for general information visit www.cycloviatucson.org. Here you’ll also find information about how to volunteer, become a sponsor or activity partner, and how to get to the route car-free. You can also email info@cycloviatucson or call 520-261-8777.

Optic fiber Art by Astrid Krogh
Astrid Krogh works mainly with textile and light in an intriguing interplay with patterns, ornamentation and textile craftsmanship. Usually, she works on a large scale that gives the patterns and the light a physical presence. She strives to challenge and apply new materials and technologies in her field, and her works usually contain an element of change or subtle surprise. Natural phenomena, light and the inherent change in all living things over time are recurring features in her work.

Ceramic skulls by Agustín Robledo aka Geoide
Discovered at JustMad Art Fair (Madrid), ‘Talavera’ (skull) by the Mexican artist Agustín Robledo, from the series “Cosmic Race”, a limited number of skulls showing the artist’s knowledge applied to ceramics. A result of the cultural mix achieved through the encounter between America and the old World, knowledge that remain in place until today.
A common symbol of the holiday is the skull, which celebrants represent in masks, called calacas (skeleton), and foods such as sugar or chocolate skulls, which are inscribed with the name of the recipient on the forehead.
The Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular at the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures.
