The Bullies

Since I had a bit of time, I drew a chart of Francis’s school bullies, in case you’re wondering what their names are. They’re another reason why Francis became the way he is. There’re others who took part in bullying Francis but these guys bullied him the most out of the whole school. Below the cut is some info about them, going from bad to worse. Spoiler alert: they all suck.

Earnest

The lesser evil of the group

The most reluctant to take part in the bullying yet was tricked and peer pressured into it, specifically by Kenly and Denver

At best, he’s a bystander. At worst, he partakes in bullying Francis and the others due to herd mentality

The only reason he was in the group was because Kenly was his first friend upon transferring to the school. And Kenly and the other bullies were a bad influence on him

Without the bullies, he’s a decent person on his own. Kind of a know-it-all, but has more empathy than the rest.

Still doesn’t change the fact he bullied Francis and other classmates. He did change his ways eventually.

After Francis disappeared from school, he began to realise how much his own ‘friends’ are pieces of shit and cut ties with them after graduating.

Graduated from Yale, became a psychologist and had a happy family of three kids.

Basically the first bully to redeem himself. Would apologise to the people he hurt if given the chance, including Francis.

Buck (aka Ratface)

They call him Ratface because he’s shaped like rat 🐀

His family is dirt poor so he despises anyone who’s wealthier (or even slightly richer) than him

Pickpockets and steals his schoolmates money with no remorse, especially Francis’s lunch money (which isn’t much anyway)

Also steals from his ‘friends’. And when Earnest exposed him, the rest of them beat the shit outta him.

Takes part in teasing or taking part in mean spirited pranks targeted at Francis and some other unfortunate victim.

He’s not all bad. Even though he’s a bit pervy, he still has a modicum of respect for women and has a soft spot for kids.

Likely dropped out of school and joined a street gang. Then got arrested for larceny and is now serving his time in prison.

Maybe after he left prison, he’d likely be reformed and stop his thieving ways.

Kenly

Narcissistic two-faced bitch

Radiates high school mean girl energy

Acts all nice and pleasant to most people, but talks shit and gossips about people behind their back

Also dramatic af. He might be a secret theatre kid.

The king of passive aggressive comments. Would talk down and patronise people who he deems below him, including his own ‘friends’. Earnest is no exception.

Gossips and nitpicks a lot about Francis’s appearance, socioeconomic background, his parents, basically he thinks Francis is pathetic.

The type to laugh whenever something bad happens to Francis to put himself on a pedestal.

Plays the victim when called out for his bullshit. Think about Kawai from A Silent Voice.

Jealous of Edmond because he’s more good looking, stronger and masculine than him so he tries to put him down too

Doesn’t treat his own group as if he’s his own friends. But he’s legitimately hurt when Earnest finally calls them out and leaves them.

Surprisingly, he did try to change for the better, albeit slowly. Maybe he got a taste of his own medicine later on and learned from his own ways.

In hindsight, he doesn’t remember why he bullied Francis that relentlessly. It’s likely due to his own insecurities and some form of sheep mentality.

Edmond

The most violent of the bullies

Part of the boxing club and is a pro

Very handsome just like any stereotypical jock. Too bad it’s wasted on his awful personality

When you look up toxic masculinity in the dictionary, his face would be plastered on there

Relentlessly beats the shit out of anyone who’s weaker than him, including Francis

Shoves his victims into lockers

Calls Francis a pathetic crybaby and constantly belittles him

Nearly hospitalised Francis twice after breaking his ribs and punching out his teeth (and that was after Richard had beaten him the night before)

Shows no mercy during PE

Followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a police officer after graduation. Hasn’t changed since then.

He still has potential to change but he’s hard to redeem. He’s likely too ingrained in his own toxic ways to look beyond that.

Denver

Easily the worst of the bullies

Sadistic mf who takes joy in hurting others and seeing people in pain

He’s likely a born psycho(?) from the get go

Rarely shows any fear due to his own shallow emotions

Feels amusement when picking on anyone, doesn’t matter if they’re less fortunate than him or if they’re content with their lives. He has the urge to break that person down no matter what circumstance they’re in, including Francis

His methods of bullying Francis include harmful pranks like putting thumbtacks on his chair, ruining his lunch, tossing his clothes around in the locker room, beating him up with Edmond, pulling down his pants in front of the school, pouring water over his head, etc

He’s also an absolute creep to women. His behaviour has gotten worse after growing up. He’s still a horrible motherfucker to everyone but he also takes advantage of women when they’re unconscious and rapes them

Just an irredeemable sack of shit scumbag

And that’s all about Francis’s bullies for now. They’re not gonna be major characters for this AU but they’ll return eventually in the future. I actually have a lot more in plan for Denver and Edmond because I’ve written a lot of lore for them compared to the rest.

Why kill people when u can kill doppels or monsters, you look like a really good monster hunter

Of course I kill doppelgängers. It’s not just humans who I hate after all. Mmm, that said, even if I were to become a monster Hunter, it still wouldn’t stop me from killing anyone who crossed me. Maybe if I weren’t working this lousy milkman job, I suppose killing those creatures would be a good idea. Maybe if I work for the DDD, they’d give me a better pay check. But how good of a doppelgänger killer I’ll be is debatable since there’s only so much of these things I can take on at once.

Hello! I really like this au, and I would like to ask, will in one moment Francis feel guilty for his actions?

Normally he wouldn’t because the people he usually kills would be the ones who wronged him, doppelgängers, turn out to be bad people (if not worse than him) or any witness to his crime (that doesn’t include children). Or anyone he finds a nuisance because he’s grown to hate people. The only time he would actually feel guilty about killing is if he had to kill Nacha or Ana in some way. Now Francis wouldn’t kill his family on purpose. The only way I could see them killing his own family if it’s on accident or if he had no choice but to put them out of their misery in some scenario. Because his family is the only people that brought out his humanity. In that case, he would feel so much guilt for killing them that he might as well join them in death too.

In a different case, if it’s the good ending where Francis finally achieved peace for himself, then I can see him feeling guilty for murdering people once he reflected on his past actions and atoned for them (as much as he could anyway).

Oh yes I will! I mentioned that I do plan on making a chart about them. You’ll find out what they look like and what their personalities are. Not so big spoiler alert: they all suck. But some not so much anymore. I’ll get down to drawing their designs.
