PSA that you can still reblog from the original post if you click the negative space NEXT to the URL on desktop.
Is this intuitive? No, not in the slightest. Hopefully they walk it back. But reblogging from your moots isn't the only option.

PSA: THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BLACKLIST TAGGING
About Tumblr's Filtering Options:
Tumblr's tag filtering can only filter out the exact tag as is actually on the post.
Wildcards (*) do not work with tumblr's tag filtering system.
Correct spelling is necessary for tag filtering to work. Do not censor your tags.
Symbols and fancy copypaste fonts do not usually work in the tag filtering system.
Neither do they tend to work in URLs, meaning your tags might not work for navigation on your own blog.
Tumblr's post content filtering searches for exactly what the user asks to be filtered.
This may lead to false positives if the filtered word is part of another, unrelated word (example: posts about "writers" will be filtered for people who block "rite").
Tumblr's post content filtering is limited to 200 filtered words and/or phrases.
Both systems only support adding filters one at a time, and only to one system at a time. This can be both time-consuming and/or exhausting for some people to do, whereas it takes less time and energy for you to tag in a simplified manner.
for more information: Tag and Post Content Filtering [Tumblr Help Center]
----------
How Many, Many People Wish Content Warnings To Be Tagged:
______ tw
______ cw
______
Nothing more, and nothing less. If your posts even mention a thing, simply tag it as that thing, because each extra word you add to your tags is another tag that has to be filtered.
It is more helpful to have it tagged as the full content itself for filtering, and you state in the body of the post and/or in additional tags that it is only a mention, vaguely reference, etc. rather than explicit descriptions and/or details.

I have heard some nasty things only by second hand, I've not delved too far into the drama nor do I care to, but I just needed to pop in and be sure to tell all of you lovelies you're perfectly valid for exploring all aspects of your muses, including their sexuality. The lovely thing about Tumblr is now not only is there a blacklist feature, you can now be sure to mark any spicy times writing as 18+, offering a double layer of the option to opt out if someone is sex repulsed.
Sex repulsion, however, is never justification for callouts and harassment of those who partake. Filter, unfollow, block, and maybe have some introspection on why you allow your sex repulsion to turn into sex negativity and purity policing. Much of the sex negativity in society stems from very alt-right, heteronormative conservatism. Maybe check that at the door, rather than drag such harmful mentalities into a predominantly queer space.
Let's also remember that choosing to write a character as an adult is not "aging up for smut". All canon characters were at one point in time a child whether or not it is covered in canon material, and adult muses interacting will never be something other than just that- adults interacting with each other. To imply there is a malevolent reason for choosing a different point in that muse's timeline to write within is silly.
To anyone affected by negativity from this, remember no one who knows better cares if you write smut, and if there are those within your circle that do, please do right by yourself and remove them from your space with a block. You should not be stressing over pleasing one or two sex negative people on your dash. Go forth and write all the spicy times, lovelies, and be sure to indulge in some self care while you're at it!
-Xo 💜💜💜

Ok I want to say something controversial
But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.
“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.
Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.
Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.

QUESTIONS FOR MUNS.
1. how do you feel about reblog karma? 2. is it hard for you to write with characters you don’t know/don’t know well? 3. whose writing has impacted your writing style the most? (you can choose anyone! famous writer or not.) 4. which muse of yours is your all time favorite? if you stopped writing them: why? 5. is there a muse you really want to try? if yes: what’s stopping you? 6. is roleplaying the only writing-based hobby you have, or are there other things you like to write? 7. describe your favorite relationship dynamic. (can be any kind, platonic, romantic, familial, antagonistic, etc.) 8. do you expect your answered memes/asks to be turned into threads? regardless of answer, what’s your reasoning? 9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–? 10. what genre do you most enjoy, whether in roleplay, or fiction as a whole? (fantasy, period, superhero, etc.) 11. describe your ideal outcome/endgame for the muse you are currently writing. if you are a multimuse blog: do this for your current favorite muse, or the muse of the last reply you posted. 12. what roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends? 13. what themes/motifs do you hope other people notice most about your character? 14. which roleplay community has been your favorite to write in? 15. icons, or gifs? you can only pick one, and cannot say ‘neither.’

HOW TO TRIM YOUR POSTS USING THE BETA TEXT EDITOR!!
as many of you know, a lot of us in the rpc on here are struggling to actually do what we want on here ( which is roleplay ) due to the recent events of the staff forcing us to use the beta text editor. now while the beta text editor does have some rather nifty features ( such as adding color to our text now ), there isn't a way to outright cut our posts making it nothing short of tedious and annoying. that's why i'm making this post right now.
STEP 1: XKIT REWRITTEN
the first thing you have to do is install xkit rewritten. here is the link for firefox and here is the link for chrome. if you use opera then you'll need to download chrome extensions. after doing so then you can proceed to the link for the chrome extension! now if you're like me and you use incognito mode then please, please, please give it permission to access everything via incognito mode.
but shin! what if i use the new xkit?! will i have to uninstall it?! nope! not at all! i actually use both of them and they 100% coincide with one another! because there are features that one has that the other doesn't.
STEP 2: ADD-ONS
now i'm going to assume that y'all know how to deal with tweaking the settings for your add-ons ( especially if you're in the rpc ) so i'm not going to bother with that. otherwise, feel free to im me and i'll help you out with it since i know how to do it in all three of the major browsers.
open up xkit rewritten in your browser. it should look something like this. i'm using chrome but it'll look exactly the same regardless of what browser you use. you'll see that it has a wide variety of various add-ons for you to choose from. and thankfully ( thankfully! ) they're all in alphabetical order so that's a bonus! so scroll down until you see trim reblogs. it'll look like this.
now turn it on. no exceptions. and you know what? go ahead and get the rest of the add-ons you want / need while you're at it since you already have it up. it'll save you time in the long run so whatever.
STEP 3: REBLOGGING / TRIMMING / ETC.
this is where the "fun" part comes into play. as stated here about trim reblogs, you will only see the trim icon if the post has two or more reblogs on it. what this means is that if it has nothing but likes or comments and has only been reblogged once then you won't see the icon show up at all. with that being said, here is an example down below:
now whatever you do don't click on the trim icon yet! instead you will hit the reblog button, type out your response, and throw it into your drafts. once you've done that, go to your drafts and it should look similar to this:
now that you've gotten your response all typed out and you see where the buttons are placed, hit the trim reblogs button and it'll look something like this:
as you can see, the first two responses are now long gone and the two newest responses are the only ones that you'll see. once finished you can now 100% post it onto the dash and you're good to go!

I just want to remind all of you lovelies that even if you have just one (1) partner who consistently writes with you, that's one person who keeps coming back to enjoy your writing, and that means so much more than a bunch of followers trying to piggyback off a large fandom blog's popularity by osmosis.
Threads that make you happy and go somewhere have always, and will always, matter more than your follower count. Never forget that. 💜 💜 💜

Hi new Tumblr users
Please know this sites hashtagging system is categorical and NOT clout based
Aka if I look up the “Wendell and Wild” tag, I should find clips, media, art and posts related to Wendell and wild ONLY. Same with any other random tag searched
If I spy a selfie, a random neighborhood, or any other kind of “insta” post trying to take likes for a popular hashtag, I’m reporting you for spam. Most other long term users will too and your acct will be fast tracked as a spam blogger and blocked.
You will not ruin the last non corporate site for us, especially by trying to treat this site like influencers matter. If you get popular, it’s bc you’re a clown w a skill not bc your hot or rich or skinny, got it?

friendly reminder to start embracing and using the new editor + xkit rewritten.
the reality is tumblr is actively phasing out the legacy editor. we may not like that but it is what it is.
new tumblr accounts don't have access to the legacy editor anymore !!
which means if you use new xkit to cut your posts, that post is now a legacy format post and your partner, who no longer has access to new xkit and needs to use xkit rewritten, won't be able to trim their posts because xkit rewritten requires both posts to be in the new post format.
i know that sounds confusing, but we just have to start using xkit rewritten.

There comes a time when fandom becomes less of an escape from anxiety to being the source of anxiety. Sometimes I need to remind myself what’s important to focus on, and I made this chart to help me with that.
(Posting this at the request of a few people. The design/concept was inspired by an instagram post about covid-19 located here).

𝐑𝐏 𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄: 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒
A little PSA about some RPC basics that can be important to know, especially if you’re new to the RPC.
Interest Trackers can take multiple shapes, though usually people make a google doc. Their purpose is to ask your mutuals which things they’d like to write with you (which muses or verses, if they’re open to shipping, which better way to get interactions going…) They usually only take a minute to fill and they are very useful!
If a mun took the time to make one, it means it’s important for them to know what their mutuals would be interested in. A lot of muns actually feel more comfortable sending asks and liking starter calls when they know which muses their mutuals want to write with.
If someone asks in their rules for their Interest Tracker be filled by mutuals, doing it shows you’ve read and acknowledged their rules, and are interested in interacting!
TLDR: filling an Interest Tracker is an easy & quick way to show your interest and be mindful of your mutuals!

I was told I should just do "rp for myself" and not worry about finding partners for threads. That's not rp that would be fanfiction at that point. This statement is so overused and asinine, not to mention no content creator- rper, artist, fanfic writer- is doing something "just for themselves" if they're posting it in a public place. Everyone is after feedback, interaction, and validation. Period. They can claim its just for themselves all they fucking want but if that were true they wouldn't be sharing it. They would keep their work private.
Alright so I'll give you that negates the point of rp if that's all you do. I think whenever I've seen that advice it's usually paired with worldbuild and write headcanons for yourself as a means of showing your thought process and familiarizing your potential partners with your muse/s. Certainly if you don't make a point of seeking out partners, yeah, it's gonna be fanfiction. Maybe you were told this because you were trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and they weren't a good fit for you? Maybe you were giving off bad vibes? Maybe they just were bad about communicating they didn't want to rp with you? Can't really tell you.
What I can tell you though is as a fanfiction author and artist in addition to rp, I 1000% am doing that for myself. I have stuff I don't publish or put out there. And yes, we very much could choose to pick up our toys and leave the sandbox. We know who we can share our work with in private, thereby depriving the rest of fandom of content. Notes and comments are great and all but the people making the niche stuff, the rarepairs? Trust and believe we don't actually do this shit for you or your approval cuz you don't even exist as a thought while we're making it. The act of sharing it online is a generous afterthought. And maybe something comes about because there was good response to something previous. That's not a bad thing.
That said, evaluate why someone might be telling you that. If it's still a mystery, move on. Maybe you need a different fandom or genre to focus on where you might find better receptive partners. The downside to rp is unless you gel with someone in your particular niche of fandom, you may have to only ever do something like crossovers. It really depends on how flexible your interests and character are.
