Read The Signs
Reading. An everyday importance seeing as how we read everything. From books, blogs, tweets, status updates, and what I find important...store hours. Yep, store hours are very important. Why? Simple, you have to know when things open and close. Not every place is like Walmart or some Walgreen's Most of the time you can find the store hours on the door or in the window, for instance at Kimmie's our sign is in the window and it's pretty big.
But, for some reason people like to ignore signs and be complete *_____* (insert word of choice) and yank on doors, bang on the door, peer through the window. Yes people, this has happened. Why? I really would like to know. I had someone yank on the door, bang on it and then go look at our store hours, we opened at 1 and it was 12:50 so, I have ten minutes correct? Well this person didn't seem to think so, what does this person do? Go and yank on the door again...you do realize what you look like when you do these things right? You look like a vulture.
Yep. This thing. Why would you want to be a bird that is just stalking...and waiting? They aren't pretty, they are just annoying and scary looking. You want to look like that? Didn't think so.
In short, here's what I'm asking you birds to do. Transform back into a person and read the signs. If we open at 1 don't call at 12:45 asking if we can open the doors early because you are in a hurry because let me tell ya, it's not gonna happen.

Don't Be Those Dicks!
Every single person who has ever worked retail can relate to this. Having that ONE customer that always comes in 3-5 minutes before closing. For instance tonight my co-workers Sally (not her real name) and Margret (not her real name either) were finishing up cleaning the store and low and behold some freaky lady and her family walk right in.
She legit looked like this... (picture was found here: http://www.sodahead.com/entertainment/ugliest-animemanga-character/question-489765/ ) and but of course her and her family mess up everything Sally and Margret worked on...let me give you "last minute shoppers" a tip. The store hours are posted on the doors (or windows) of the store you are about to enter if it is even 30 minutes til they close do NOT go into that store. Need just one thing? TO BAD! GO TO WAL-MART!
Here's the thing about working any retail job...we have families and other things we would like to do as well. Plus some of us don't get paid nearly enough to put up with late night crap. For instance before I worked at Kimmie's I worked at a Dollar store (let's call it...Dollar World). Dollar World opened at 8 and closed at 10, and when you live thirty minutes out of town you get home at about 10:30 (on good days...meaning everything with registers went smooth and no last minute customers) but if you have that one person who even spends 5-10 minutes in the store you don't get home til late. Not fun huh? Especially if you have to turn right around and open the next morning. Oh the things we do for money...
Well I guess what I'm trying to ask of you "last minute shoppers" is don't be those dicks. Because if you are, most likely I will not want to help you next time you come in the store. =D

Introduction
This blog is about what goes on while at work. Think of it as a...helping tool so you don't end up doing these things. I have been in the retail business for about 3 years (granted that's the only thing that an 18 year old can get) and I have seen a and heard some of the most bizarre things. As of now I work for a woman's clothing store which will be named...hmmm...Kimmie's.
Don't get me wrong I love helping people but there are just some days that you just want to ask "Really?" That is what this blog is for (because let's face it we all have those days)
