Polls can be misleading (intentionally or not). The methodology can be biased (or simply poor). Early results may not reflect what the full count will show. There may be a red mirage. NOTHING YOU SEE CONVINCES YOU NOT TO VOTE.

The biggest Democratic win in swing states means nothing if democrats don't turn out everywhere to keep the reliably blue states blue.

VOTE. Wear appropriate weather gear if you think you may have to stand in a line outside (coat, hat, gloves, umbrella, sunhat, whatever, you know where you live). Bring water and a snack and something to do (book, game on your phone, podcast and headphones, whatever, you know what you like). GO VOTE.

That post about not pretending to be a bride when you were wee does rub me up the wrong way because like. Idk I never wanted to get married and would get viscerally upset whenever people told me I would change my mind inevitably. But the only dressing up clothes I had for a long time were a wedding dress and veil. I wanted to be playing other games but the choices we make about how we play are not neutral to our environment. Our play is structured and controlled by the adults around us.

I wanted a toy tool set and my parents got me a kitchen. Lucky you if you were given choices that were listened to and respected, but gender is enforced by bending children into the shape their parents and wider social circle want them to be.
