ON HER TOUR

I’m so happy that I get to go back to touring, and embark in my first ever CAL tour. It’s going to be a really exciting experience, and I cannot wait to kick it off in Dallas in a few weeks. I actually have a date here in New York! It’s at Terminal 5, and you can buy the tickets at my website or Live Nation! I’m so excited to begin this entire schedule and routine. I love to perform, and I cannot wait for that to be shown off in this tour.

ON HER SONG ‘ELECTRIFY’

‘Electrify’ is the third single off of ‘Radiant’, and the response has been crazy! I am so happy it debuted at #20 on the official CAL Charts, it was amazing. I hope this song grows, because I adore this song more honestly than ‘Falling Leaves’. Although I adore that song, ‘Electrify’ was a song that felt amazing to write. I am so proud of myself, and I love the love songs on this record. The music video just hit 5,000,000 views, which I’m so happy about. I love that video, and I cannot wait to continue to see the reaction.

ON HER ALBUM ‘RADIANT’

‘Radiant’ is my fourth album, and ‘Electrify’ is the third single from it. I’m so happy with this album, and I’m so happy it’s finally gone platinum. It also has 17,000,000 streams on Encore, which is so crazy to me. I’m so thankful for the love on it, and the fact that it’s still #4 on the iTunes worldwide. I’m so thankful for the love. The support is amazing and so inspiring.

ON THE URBAN OUTFITTERS DEAL

Yeah! So more onto my album, I teamed up with Urban Outfitters to create a special vinyl that was in support of my album ‘Radiant’ as a thank you for the fans. This record is just beautiful to me, not to be bias [laughs]. I am so happy i was able to create this with them. I have collected vinyls since I was young, and creating my own felt liberating honestly. I enjoyed it so much. They are all available on the Urban Outfitters website, and all of the stores worldwide.

 PERFORMANCE

We start the performance with the host introducing Charli. He says ‘Now, we have a spcial guest tonight. She has sold over 1,000,000 albums and 5,000,000 records across the world. Here to sing her new single ‘Electrify’, please give it up for Charli XCX!”

The camera pans to the stage where Charli stands. She has 5 back up dancers, who wear outfits that have electric bolts over them. She has a microphone stand, and uses it for the first verse. A band behind her plays. She sings it with power and beauty, and does her own moves. The chorus hits and out come all the current contestants. Each couple does a little solo to the song, as a spcial homage to the show. Charli doesn’t make the performance about herself, and rather the hard work the contestants do.

The second chorus arrives and she takes the mic off the stand, and she does her own little moves to the beat. The dancers do some basic choreo as well. The chorus once again comes, and she brings the contests back out, and they do some very lyrical choreo. It looks beautiful, as the wall and floor looks covered in lightning. 

She does the bridge by actually walking into the main stage. She lays on the ground, and looks stellar. The chorus once again hits twice, and the contestants dance around her in a circle. Charli’s dancers lift her up, and she does some choreo that looks similar to what the contestants do, except she does a simpler version so she can still sing. 

The host comes back and reminds everyone to buy and stream ‘Electrify’ and watch the video on CALTube, then, the show goes to commercial.

ON HER SONG ‘ELECTRIFY’ DEBUTING AT #20

It’s crazy I’m so happy. The song original went to #13, so I’m really hoping I can get it back there. Although I don’t mind where I land, I set a goal for myself, as you do, to hopefully get all my singles top 10. Plus, I want more people to hear this song, it’s beautiful to me and I love it and even if you don’t like it, I love to hear feedback on my work. I’m loving the reaction, epically on Encore. The fact it already has 11,000,000 streams in a week is so exciting.’m so thankful to anyone streaming it, or adding it to their playlists.

ON HER ALBUM ‘RADIANT’

‘Radiant’ is my fourth album, and I really switched it up this era. But, I always change my sound for each album, so at this point it wasn’t surprising to fans I hope [laughs]. This record meant a lot to me as a person, and it helped me really grow. It’s already been shaping the next album, I don’t know how much I can say, but in the few hours of studio time, this new record is already so much happier. 

ON THE NEW VINYL WITH URBAN OUTFITTERS

I’m so happy it got released! We've been working on that since I wanted to release the deluxe edition, and they were really cool about it. I chose the splatter color, which is beautiful in my opinion. I also wrote a thank you note in there for anyone who does get it, and in the future I’d love to sign a bunch and hand them out. Maybe I’ll do it on tour or something fun. Anyway, they’re out now, you can get them at the Urban Outfitters website or any one of their stores. I think there are some out here right? 

ON HER MUSIC VIDEO

I love the music video because I feel like it was the vision or story I was telling in the song. It was a shortlived romance, but it was electric and strong, and so that’s what it meant to portray. I loved making it though, it was fun to direct and putting it together was a blast. I cannot wait to continue doing more videos, for this era, or the next. It’s already got 3M views on CALTube, which I’m so happy about.

Charli XCX is an artist full of surprises. Last week, she released a new single, music video, and deluxe edition of her album as well as she announced the dates of the US leg of her first CAL Tour, ‘The Radiance Tour’. With five out of the nine dates sold out in a week, it’s looking to already be a huge success. Her album ‘Radiant’ has just gone platinum, and what better time to release this brand new product. 

For awhile now, Charli has been working with Urban Outfitters to create a brand new record, in support of the deluxe edition of her album, ‘Radiant’. The 2LP vinyl is now stocked on shelves this Friday, at any Urban Outfitters internationally. It costs $27.98, and has 15 tracks, three being the brand new deluxe tracks. The vinyl itself is interesting and unique, and makes it even more beautiful. A brand new thank you is also in the gatefold, and a brand new track list photo has been created. CHARLI XCX RELEASES EXCLUSIVE VINYL (WW)

After just surpassing 1,000,000 copies of her album ‘Radiant’, Charli has decided to celebrate by releasing an exclusive edition of her album “Radiant’ on vinyl, courtesy of the company, Urban Outfitters. Details expanding on the release are below.

THE VINYL:

The vinyl is 12 inches in diameter, and features the deluxe cover. This is a 2LP  vinyl, which means it includes two records, meaning four different sides. As you can see, the records are red splattered with black. The cover is a 12.375 in (31.43 cm) square. The vinyl plays at 33 1/3 RPM, as any regular record does. The sound quality is fantastic, and you can hear the definition within each ring. 

The gatefold includes a picture of Charli with the classic ‘Radiant’ aesthetic, and has a never seen before thank you, written by Charli herself. In each side of the gatefold is held, which also features a special card version of the cover, and on the back is a verification code that will allow you to download the entire album on MP3 by going to xcx.world/uo.

The back of the record is quite simple, it shows an image of Charli with her tongue out, in the same outfit as the front. It is also edited to fit the original ‘Radiant’ aesthetic once again. The track list separated the song into four groups, for the sides of the record. The track list of course features all standard tracks, and the brand new deluxe tracks.

PERFORMANCE

The announcer stands on the side of the stage, he holds the ‘Radiant CD’, the deluxe edition. He begins with “It has been a crazy week for our next performer. She dropped a single, a music video, a deluxe edition of her album, and a brand new tour all on the same day. With five out of the nine dates already sold out in the US, here to perform the brand new single that holds over 10,000,00 streams, please welcome multi-platinum selling artist, Charli XCX!” The camera pans to the stage, as it is dark.

The camera shows a stage with a huge lightning bolt hanging from the stage. Charli almost lays on it, holding a microphone. Smoke pours on the stage and the silhouette of dancers pile behind her. The lightning piece turns on, and the black screens behind her begin to strike the floor. You cans see she now wears a black latex two piece and her hair is in a ponytail. She sings the first verse entirely on the lightning, as it lowers the ground. She stands on it, for the final lines of the verse, and jumps off right before the chorus hits. 

The chorus hits, and Charli jumps off the lightning prop., It falls into the stage and spotlights fly all over the stage all at once, as the lightning strikes down even more intensely. The dancers flow out from behind her, and they do an interesting choreography. Charli does a simplified version so sje can manage the chorus. The chorus ends, and the little dance break begins and Charli goes full force this time, and the dancers begin to open through the middle, and she runs through them. She disappears for a moment, and the dancers do their thing.

The second verse begins, and electrical plugs begin to show up on the screen. She guides trhe dancer, and throughout the verse they try to pick it up and put it in the plug which is in the middle of the stage. They plug it in, and Charli rises from the stage quickly and she sings the chorus with power as lighting and lights begin to light around the stage.

Throughout the entire bridge the stage lowers and she sets herself on the ground. Once she’s there, she grabs a light source, whether that be a desk lamp, or a flashlight, every dancer has a different one. The stage is completely dark for the second to last chorus, as they snake around the stage. The lights illuminate and they looks like a curved line as they drtut around the stage, Charli infront. Right before the chorus, they form “XCX”, but then, the final chorus hits.

Confetti and smoke bursts from the front of the stage, and the crowd goes wild. She doesn't follow the choreo, and really gets into the song, doing her own dance, and laying on the stage to reallyt get that hype up. She has great vocals and the crowd loves it. The song ends with the final notes, and the final lightning strikes. They black out the stage as the song ends. 

The announcer returns with “Give it up for Charli XCX everyone! Her new album ‘Radiant’ is avaible worldwide, and the single ‘Electrify’ is on iTunes, Encore, Google Play, and Tidal! Get them all now!”

i’m going on tour finally! [cheers],  I’m so happy to finally be hitting the road in a very long time to begin my first ever CAL Tour. It’s nerve-wracking of course but I love to perform so I cannot wait to get into the vibe of putting on a show every night. I can’t wait to also meet a bunch of angels, they are the reason I’m touring. I’m so happy four of the nine dates have already sold out, I’m so excited to begin this tour. It’s the third single from ‘Radiant’, and I’m so happy to finally give this one the single treatment. We dropped the music video with the song which is already close to 2,000,000 views which I’m so happy about. This song means so much to me and I’m so happy that people are enjoying it too. I am happy that it’s still top 40 worldwide, and I hope I can get it even higher in the next few days. 

ON THE STREAMING SUCCESS

It’s surreal! I was just shook to be honest at ‘Electrify’ gaining 8,000,000 streams within the first few days. I’m so happy people are enjoying it there, and I hope I can continue to have it grow there, as I love the whole idea of Encore. The fact ‘Radiant’ is a approaching 10,000,000 streams there is wild, and I’m so thankful. It’s also been doing so well on CALTube, I am so happy that people love the music video as much as I did while making it.

‘Radiant’ is the fourth studio album from me, and one of my favorite records I have put out. I’m so happy that people have been enjoying it, and I have been loving the response it has been getting as well. It means a lot to me, since this album helped me in a lot of ways. I released the official deluxe edition on Friday and the support for that has been amazing, I’m so thankful. The deluxe tracks are definitely lighter than most of the album, and since I’m a happier person now, I think i’s time I released them.

ON THE NEW SINGLE

I’m so excited that people are enjoying it! It was a little scary to finally release a single after not releasing one since February, when my album dropped, and I have kind of forgotten what it’s like to first release a new single. I’m so excited to move on though, and I know I can make this song do well if I just put in so much work, and I think I already have, the music video, and I’m travelling the world to promote it. The song is the fifth track on my album, and one of the oly songs about love, and I think that’s why it’s so special.

ON THE NEW DELUXE EDITION ALBUM

Yes! I released the deluxe edition of m album ‘Radiant’ on Friday, and the support has been mind-blowing. I’m happy people are enjoying it, since it’s still #3 on iTunes. My favorite song of the three is a tie between ‘Not Yours’ and ‘Yellow Sun’ honestly. I love ‘Drum’, but the stories behind those two are fun. I also love the instrumental of ‘Yellow Sun’, Claire did an amazing job with it. It was written for ‘Radiant’, and was very very close to making the cut, but I’m so glad to still have it out a few months later.

ON WRITING ‘ELECTRIFY’

So, I had a very small dating life writing this album, and I dated probably 2 or 3 guys, within writing it all, and this one lver turned the tables for me, and even though it didn’t work out, the feeling that the love gave me felt just incredible. I sat down in the studio one day and I just had nothing to write about and so I scribbled down some verses, the first and second verse of the song, and finished the chorus maybe a week later. It was a fun song to write, and even more fun to produce. I love that one front to back honestly.

ON THE MUSIC VIDEO

The response has been wonderful, I love that everyone has been enjoying it. I already gained another 700,000 views within a day and that blew me away because I haven’t had a response this big for awhile. I hope it continues to grow and people continue to like it. I’m just happy the fans like it this time around, after the mixed response with the double feature, I was worried to release this one but it turned out better than I expected.

ON HER ALBUM ‘RADIANT GOING #3 ON ITUNES

It’s such great news I am so excited to see this album being enjoyed so much. I love this record because it brought out a new person in me and helped me with a lot of the things weighing me down, letting those go was the best feeling ever. Seeing that other people love it to that extent is almost inspiring, because it shows I’m not a alone to be honest. Although not everyone listening to the record deals with what I dealt with, even if they feel the tiniest bit empowered I’ll be happy. That album made me a happier person, and I hope it can make others happier too.

ON HER SONG ‘ELECTRIFY’

IIt’s feels like years since I put out ‘Falling Leaves’, so I felt it was time to drop a new single. The fans already loved this one, it sold 300,000 copies as an album track,and so I noticed the fan love and wanted to try my best to do what they loved, and so that track was the first idea in my head. The song is one of the only love songs on the record, and it was a short-lived romanced I had while writing the album and that feeling really went into a few album tracks honestly. I love the song and I’m happy to see the fans are too. 

ON THE CONCEPT OF THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘ELECTRIFY’

It was a really loose concept actually, I basically suggested four scenes, and while I directed them I tied it all together. I love directing videos and putting this one together was a blast. Everyone was really having fun I think, and that feeling created the video in such a special way. I love it. The video already hit 1,000,000 views which is just crazy, I’m so happy people are liking it.

ON HER TOUR

I announced the US leg this Friday, and I’m so happy with how it’s gone so far. Four dates already sold out, and Im hoping the other five follow too. It’s so exciting to go tour again, and especially begin my first ever CAL Tour, it’s really nerve racking but I want to put on a great show so I couldn't be more excited. ON HER BRAND NEW DELUXE EDITION

I’m so happy the fans like it! It was so exciting to learn it was #3 worldwide! I am happy that people still have interest in the album, because I put a lot of work into that record and sales were slowing down, as they do, and I feel like it needed a boost and the fans deserved more, so I decided to take these 3 unfinished demos a few weeks ago, and polish them! I’m happy people are loving ‘Not Yours’ and ‘Yellow Sun’ so much, they were so fun to write and produce.

It’s the second single from ‘Radiant’, and it has grown to be one of my favorites on the album. The production is just so catchy in my opinion, and I love the feeling it radiates, pun intended [laughs]. The response on Encore was amazing though, 8,000,000 streams! I was so excited to see the fans are loving it, since I love the song too. Releasing the music video was a blast too, I loved directing it and the concept was in my head for awhile now, specially when I wrote the song. 

ON THE RADIANCE TOUR

I’m so excited to announce my first CAL tour, and to start it so soon! I flew to the US for a few tour rehearsals actually, I cannot wait to fully start it and see how it goes. We have so much planned for the show and I am excited to put a great show on hopefully. The first four dates have already sold out, and I hope that continues for the other five! She did a somewhat stripped down piece, as a pre-recorded small performance. She had a small band as she sat on a stool in the front of the stage. She begins it with “Hi I’m Charli XCX, and this is my song ‘Electrify’.The guitar plays for the first verse, the drums come in for the pre-chorus, and we get some synths for the chorus since they need to show some homage to the original version. For the final chorus she gets up and does some simple dances and stands us in general, but can’t go far since the microphone is on a wire. She rocks a beautiful white ensemble, and her hair is down. The host comes back holding a Radiant standard CD and letting the audience know topic it up on iTunes, and stream it on Encore.

Oh wow, I just got the news! It’s crazy because I had really mixed feelings going into this, I haven’t toured in a few years, and I didn't even know if that many people wanted to see me, so it was an experiment, and I can’t wait to play those shows already. We released the deluxe edition Friday, and so far I cannot wait to see what the fans think. It’s three brand new songs I have had written before the album released and I’m glad to finally put them on the album. They sadly didn’t make the cut, but I do love them nonetheless, and that’’s why I wanted to release them one way or another. I don’t quite know if one of them will get a single treatment, it really depends on how the fans enjoy them. 

ON HER SONG ‘ELECTRIFY’

It’s the third single from my album ‘Radiant’, and it is really exciting. The song was written in a brief love adventure I had, and i just felt electric, and as you can see that’s what it’s about. I love the production, Patrik did an amazing job, and all around I think it’s a great song, so I’m lad to have it out as a single and have people hear it..

ON THE NEW MUSIC VIDEO

It was released yesterday! I don’t quite know the views yet, but I hope it is doing well. The music video was in my head writing the song even though it wasn't the lead, I still wanted to keep the idea. it was a quick shoot and we've had it ready for a few weeks now, we just wanted the good time ti release and this week seemed perfect. ‘m so excited for how the fans react.

CHARLI XCX ON  RADIO GFM (ASIA)

It’s about time Charli XCX released a new single, and now it’s finally time.Today, Charli released it all into the world, a new single, a music video and the most exciting, a new deluxe edition of her album ‘Radiant’ and a brand new US tour announcement. They all happened at once, and we cannot wait to see how the rest rolls out. This week is the first week of the brand new single ‘Electrify’.The single has already sold 300,000 copies as a n album track, and Charli and her team cannot wait to grow it even further. She begins her promotion at a radio station in South Korea called Radio GFM.

INTERVIEW

ON THE PLAZA HOTEL ATTACK

I’m still shaken honestly, it’s really so sad that people lost their lives at an event that was supposed to be happy. I wish the best for any families affected, and y best wishes to anyone injured, I’m heartbroken. Luckily, I wasn't there due to me spending some time here. But, I am still so sad for the victims and anyone else affected. My great friend Britney was there, but luckily she made it out.

ON HER NEW SINGLE ‘ELECTRIFY’

I’m so happy with this entire song and the fact we released it as a single, it’s one of my favorites on the album. The song was a bout a short-lived romance, but a feeling I wish never stopped. The music video was supposed to recreate that, and I hope it did because I tried to put feelings in it honestly. It’s a fun song, Patrik did a great job with the production.

ON ‘RADIANT (DELUXE)’

I’ve been working on this since ‘Radiant’ dropped. I knew I wanted to release some new songs, and with the tour coming out, I felt like this was a perfect with this brand new tour. I am so happy with these 3 songs and even though they didn't make the cut for the standard version, I knew they had to be released some way. I love the songs because they all three show a happier side of me, and I think that shows in ‘Radiant’ too. I am so happy with them and the production, I am so happy it’s all out!

ON HER NEW TOUR

I’ve been working on this idea of a tour for months, and it felt just right to release it now.I love this tour because it’s been awhile since I hit the road, and I am so happy to be finally back on that road. We kick off the tour in Texas, which I cannot wait for. We announced nine dates around North America, so if you live there, most of you probably don’t [laughs], you should come see me!

CHARLI XCX ON  TOP100 SOULNB.COM (ASIA)

It’s about time Charli XCX released a new single, and now it’s finally time. Charli has recently announced official music video for the song on her Twitter, basically confirming it will serve as the third single from her fourth album ‘Radiant’. Charli has had a somewhat rough patch, releasing her single with Britney Spears that only peaked in the top thirty. With a not well received video as well, it didn’t quite work out the way the duo had envisioned. But, that is all behind them now, as Charli has announced this brand new single, and the official version of ‘Falling Leaves’ is back on all platforms worldwide. She celebrated with  TOP100 SOULNB.COM, a South Korean radio station on all the upcoming events.

I’m so happy the original version with Belinda is back, it’s so exciting to see the support she already has gained from being back. This track means to a lot to us and having it back feels really nice. I’m so happy it was placed on Lorde’s new playlist ‘California Dreaming’ on Encore, it’s really an honor to be with those lovely artists, and I’m so glad it already has been well received. I’m happy that after all this time it’s still receiving so much love and support and I cannot wait to see if it grows anymore. 

ON IT BEING BACK WORLDWIDE

I’m so happy we were able to get not only the song back, but Belinda’s entire catalogue back, it feels rewarding. i’m happy she’s back and rebuilding herself, it’s inspiring to see. She already created this amazing playlist titled “Feel Good Jams” which my song ‘Electrify’ is on and I’m so happy about that. I hope some fans will check it out and enjoy it. 

ON BRITNEY SPEARS

Working with her was a dream come true! I’ve loved her work for years now and I cannot wait to see what comes next. ‘Falling Leaves’ and ‘Dreaming Of California’ were two amazing projects to do, and although it wasn’t picture perfect, we loved doing it. I’d love to work with her again, she has a such a creative mind and she really knows what she wants and I love that.

On July 30th, a huge feud between Belinda and her label began, causing for her music to be removed form all services. In addition, collaborations were also removed, which left both Britney Spears and Charli XCX having no single. But, they have teamed together and have hyped up a release of both songs songs again, but featuring the other. It’s a great way to recover from such events. Now, the singles are finally out with with a huge music video to follow it, and the girls have started getting ready for even more promotion. They have been working hard to promote all week and today stopped by Le Grand Journal to perform ‘Falling Leaves’.

PERFORMANCE 

The stage is dark,and smoke swirls on stage. The host stands on the corner of the stage and says, “Please welcome these two guests. Known for their music around the world, please welcome Charli XCX and Britney Spears. The smoke parts and the music starts. Charli steps out in a baggy yellow outfit and begins to sing. The performance isn't very high energy, and Charli just lets the music speak for itself. The chorus hits and smoke pours for the stage and Charli steps back and looks up, to reveal Britney suspended from wires. She does a flip in the air and is lowered down in front of Charli and the performance picks up. They begin to do some choreo and back up dancers join them. The performance finishes and they stand back to back, and the host comes out to congratulate them.

INTERVIEW

ON ‘FALLING LEAVES’

C: It was amazing to perform it here first of all! [audience cheers]. I wrote the song for my fourth album ‘Radiant’ and I’m glad to see it still being loved even though its quite old honestly [laughs]. It is a concept song about success and I hope that message comes across, because it really fits the incident Belinda suffered. I love that we were able to put the song back out there, and the orginal will be back on August 21st!

B: Yes I love the song! When I was told I was able to re-release the single I got excited! Charli is amazing and I love the song so much.

ON THE DOUBLE FEATURE

B: Filming that was a blast. It was almost a full 48 hour shoot no sleep, but we did take some breaks so we did’t fall asleep [laughs]. But, the passion and emotion. was there and thats what made the vidoe the way it was.

C: Yeah, it was filmed in a blur, and it was planned in a blur. I loved what we did though, and I’m happy it’s out on CALTube now!

ON RADIANT

C: Radiant is my fourth studio album, and my favorite album so far. It’s an album about growing larger and brighter than those around you, and the name ‘Radiant’ summarizes that. I love this record and think it is everything I could've wanted it to be, I’m so proud of it.

BRITNEY SPEARS & CHARLI XCX ON CHINESE IDOL

In addition, collaborations were also removed, which left both Britney Spears and Charli XCX having no single. But, they have teamed together and have hyped up a release of both songs songs again, but featuring the other. It’s a great way to recover from such events. Now, the singles are finally out with with a huge music video to follow it, and the girls have started getting ready for even more promotion. Yesterday, they begin with the first full televised performance of ‘Falling Leaves’ on the popular Japanese TV show, SMAPXSMAP. Today, they flew to China to perform ‘Dreaming Of California’ on Chinese Idol.

PERFROMANCE

The announcer stands to the side of the stage. He says “Now, please welcome our special guest. These ladies have sold millions of records around the world, give it up for Britney Spears and Charli XCX.” The camera pans to the stage where Charli and Britney stand back to back. They both wear black looking outfits. The instrumental begins and Britney sings the first verse with complete beauty. She walks to the front of the stage and does some simple choreo so she can continue singing. Charli turns around and Britney goes to the side of the stage when the pre-chorus begins, which Charli sings. The chorus hits and the beat makes an amazing drop. Britney and Charli stand back to back, and they are raised up onto a platform on the stage. Britney sings the chorus with total beauty, while backup dancers flow around on the stage below them. 

Now, it is time for the hook and they begin to walk in a circle like motion so one is on the front and one is on the back since they both sing it. The platform lowers for the second verse, and Charli sings it now with power. She stands now in the front of the stage, and does some choreo and Britney stands in the back. The dancers move to the side to reveal Britney on a vanity stand, like the video, and she sings the pre-chorus. The chorus hits again and Britney now stands on top of the vanity stand and is guided by the dancers to the front of the stage with Charli by stepping on their knees, almost like a catwalk.

They reach the bridge and suddenly Britney is laying and being held by the dancers and she sings it with the beat. Charli is nowhere to be found. The chorus hits and this time Charli sings it. The crowd parts to reveal Charli on a sand throne, and she does some choreo on it as well with the dancers around her. 

They sing the final hook together and they stand next to each other with many backup dancers. The host comes back when the song ends, and they both stand on the stage as the host hugs both. He ends it with “That was their song ‘Dreaming of California’ which is available now on iTunes, Encore, and CALTube. Let’s have another round of applause!”.

PERFORMANCE

The host stands infront of the stage and introduces Charli & Britney to the crowd. “Please welcome a multi-platinum selling artist, here to perform her brand new single ‘Falling Leaves’, give it up for Charli XCX & Britney Spears!”. The camera now pans to the stage where Charli stands. She is situatated in a room where it looks like fur covers the walls, and Charli wears a matching outfit. The floor is also covered in fur, so it looks like a huge fur filled box almost.

The first verse is sung by Charli and she sings with power and beauty, in the middle of this room, with no dancing or anything. Then, for the second verse more dancers come and join her on each side and she does a simple routine along with them. The chorus hits and the fur wall falls back and Charli is covered by her backup dancers. She comes out from the top, wearing a simple blue sheer dress, that ends above her knees. 

The chorus ends while she still is held, and Britney comes in-between the backup dancers who hold her up to the front. She wears a green two piece and her hair is piled in a ponytail on the top of her head. She sings the two verses and seems to enjoy herself, doing some amazing choreo as always.

The next two choruses approach and Charli now stands next to Britney and they both do some synchronized choreo and the dancers surround them, and trees seem to grow up around them. The second chorus is sung and the leaves begin to fall and the dancers file out one by one.

Charli and Britney are left as the only oens left on stage, and a dark smoke begins to to fill the stage. They flal to the ground with the final words, and lay silent. The host comes back after the music ends, and says “That was Charli XCX and Britney Spears everyone! You can buy the brand and stream new single now!”.

INTERVIEW

After the performance, Charli and Britney sit down for a minimal interview to discuss the song and music video.

ON THE REMIXES

B: I’m so siked to have the singles out, they were made on such short notice but such strong emotion and we both think that shows within the music. We’re both so glad by the reception and cannot wait to continue promotion on both songs. 

C: Yeah, Britney basically said it all. We both worked hard and loved these songs with Belinda, and basically after it happened she called me up and posed this idea and I said yes right away, I’ve looked up to Britney since I was young. So it’s a dream come true for both us I think.

ON THE MUSIC VIDEO

C: We can’t wait to hopefully see a reaction! It was a three day shoot actually, and it took many hours at a time. We’re so happy with it though, and we stand up for the art we portrayed. We didn’t want it to be some conventional pop video, and so we felt like doing soemthing like this could be really interesting and I’m glad it came out that way.

B: i was actually the first one to pose the idea of the ‘Dreaming Of California’ portion, and Matthew Cullen got that vision right away and basically made it really special. Charli self directed her part which i admire, and I loved what she did.
