Quick but curious question, I almost don't fully understand why Narinder finds the body of the lamb "beautiful" when it dies. I mean, it's not that I find it strange, I just find it curious🤔

It's about fragility. It's about secrets. It's about the intricacies of the body, and the special ways it reacts to the end of life. The flooding hormones, the little spasms, the blurring vision and sleepy delirium. He remembers, as a God, watching the Lamb's first deaths, the way they would shake and gasp out as they struggled to adjust to the realm in between. An ancient instinct that drives one to panic, yet to be suppressed. Like switching to breathing liquid, when all they've ever known is air. He remembers comforting them with a carefully placed claw atop their soft, fluttering chest, feeling it gradually still as they clutched to him. 

It's about seeing the soul break free, and change. It's something he has observed countless times before. Death is his domain. It will never not be sacred to him.

It's about freely given control. The sly smile they might flash when they've realized he had poisoned them, like they were trading an inside joke. The way they might point to a serrated blade, hopping in place as they beg him to use it next. Their giddy laughs after each broken rib. Their animated gestures when they recount their funniest, most unusual, most thrilling deaths. The catharsis they feel is palpable, and it's contagious.

It's about leaving no witnesses. They know how hard it is for him to show vulnerability. They know it's easier for him when he's alone. In the moments before they resurrect, he can process his feelings in any way he likes. He can stare, he can smile, he can caress them and whisper to them. He can pose them like a toy, decorate them if he wants. He can take out his frustrations, or cuddle them like a weighted plushie. They love that they can give that to him.

It's an intimate moment with them that feels so final. For many, it would be. But for them, it can happen many times, so long as it still pleases them. It's about the trust they put in him. He knows how much they put on the line with each death. The Crown could so easily be plucked from their head, and it would all be over. And yet, time and time again, they wake up in his arms.

Most of all- my Narinder is just a huge creep. An incredibly lucky one, at that.

I'm sharing my comment on this again because I will absolutely not be allowing this kind of mindset on my blog or within my mutual.

Reposting my comment with grammatical and tonation correction:

Using people's works as a means of attempting to pedestal other works is really an indirect insult. People create artworks differently and at different frequencies.

Especially for some who may have plenty of time and means to hone certain skills. That's kinda how any skill works. The conversation would have been great if the envy wasn't so **suffocating**, as this person so kindly put it.

How about instead of trying to tear down other artists for having success, we try to accommodate resources or conversations for others? This is so not cool.

Let's not have a Fandom riddled with unspoken envy. COTL is an amazing game and I've met amazing mutuals and amazing writers and artists, amazing gamers, personalities, pet owners, etc.

If you're only creating for attention rather than for fun, then perhaps it's time to do a bit of soul searching. Focus less on the numbers, more on the fact you are bringing something to existence. You are a creator, not a robot.

A community should be that: a community. Not a competition.

Before I start this, I love TROD. Fantastic fanfiction, beautiful art, wonderful story. Absolutely no hate to the AU or the creator because I love both.

This fandom also loves TROD… and nothing but TROD. The favoritism is getting really annoying. I’m sick of looking for fic recs just to see TROD every other comment. It’s like being recommended Percy Jackson over and over. Everyone’s read it, everyone loves it. PLEASE recommend something else.

Tied with that: please share fics that don’t have art. This fandom (and every fandom but especially this one) has such a suffocating preference for fanart and I’m sick of it. You can be a wonderful artist but a learning writer and gets loads of attention, but if it’s the opposite? If you’re an incredible writer who can just sorta draw? Good luck getting noticed for your talents. Doesn’t help that Ao3 doesn’t have an algorithm but art-based platforms do and will, by default, flush out all the pure writing content/creators.

All art is art. Please show it the love it deserves, and don’t toss aside a story just because there aren’t visuals accompany it.

In your true vessel au why does the lamb share their body is this while Narinder is still sealed or was this a way to free him without sacrificing the lamb

In this AU, the Lamb definitely intended it as a loophole to get Narinder out of the Gateway - though this was long before the knew of his command for their sacrifice.

They had fully intended to use Narinder himself as a power boost on crusades and his constant presence to help them run the cult and absolutely decimate the Old Faith in no time.

While Narinder was seriously hesitant at first to accept their batshit crazy proposal, he shrugged after some pondering and decided "Okay, why not?"

My mans was eager to get out.

However, as it turns out, his chains aren't so simple to get out of.

While he could possess his Vessel, he could not go any further than the cult grounds. Narinder would, in essence, be immediately Bluetooth disconnected the moment his (the Lamb's) feet passed the threshold.

There was definitely a lot of experimentation involved and several deaths on the Lamb's behalf as a result. But the two eventually found a Limbo that they could exploit to make it work.

For now, all Narinder is capable of is essentially being given house arrest within the cult. He uses this time to enjoy simple things, like food, napping in the sun, contorting the Lamb's joints and bones in ways they *aren't supposed to bend*, only to laugh when they get their body back and have to unbreak their own spine. I appreciate your ask <3

I'm still developing this idea as I go so some things may change down the line.
