I know it's not great.
It's not over yet, remember that, though I can't pretend to say it's looking awesome either. Whatever happens next, however this turns out, remember this.
I love you. I am proud of you for making it this far and trying your best. You are not alone, We are not alone. We have each other and that's where we start.
Below is something I wrote to help me process things as I wait for...whatever is next. I hope it helps you too.
Have a better week and remember, one step at a time. Just take it one step at a time.
“I am tired.”
“So I am my friend.”
“Why do you persist then? Why do you struggle against the unyielding eternity?”
“Because I must.”
“You are far stronger than I.”
“I am not. I am mortal, human just as you are. I am no more special than anyone else. I have not been chosen from on high nor do I have some grand destiny laid before me. Regardless of what others may say or think, we are one and the same.”
“Yet you possess the will to fight, to carry on while I wish to fight no longer. I wish to stop.”
“I cannot fight for myself. I have never thought highly of the person who stares back in the mirror though I do not loathe them either. I fight others, for those who cannot. For those who need my strength when theirs falter. I fight for those I love so they may know a moment of peace, no matter how brief. I fight for strangers, lost and alone in the dark so they may have a glimmer of light to carry them through the night. I fight because I can and thus I must.”
“Such a noble goal. I feel selfish for fighting only for myself, for my peace and my survival.”
“Do not feel shame! You are not our enemy, ignorant and proud. Reveling in a childish hatred that would make children weep with sorrow. There are many reasons to fight and thus you have chosen yours. You wish to live a peaceful life. There is no shame in this and none can fault you for it. It is the right for us all.”
“If I give up, if I lay down, would you hate me?”
“I hope you find a spark, a cause to carry you through the dark. Live for spite or rage. Live for love and kindness. Live to see a better world or perhaps there is something else you wish to behold. Live for whatever you need to arm yourself for the future, to grant you the will to carry on. It does not have to be some grandiose purpose or reason. Whatever you choose to carry on with me will be important because it is important to you.”
“You did not answer my question.”
“I could never hate you. I wish these times were not upon us. I wish we did not live through such harrowing moments of history but alas we do and here we are. Yet take solace humans have always done so. Countless life altering moments across history, events too vast to comprehend, lives changed in impossible and unforeseen ways. Yet our ancestors persisted. They lived and their children lived and their children lived and then their children made us.”
“Will you carry me should I fall? Should I not be able to carry on?”
“Whatever becomes of us I will carry you forward. I will carry your name and your existence and your will into the future. I will carry the memory of you as far as my existence allows. As long as I draw air, I will remember you. And you will remember me.”
“This fight is not yet finished.”
“Neither are we.”
“I need a moment.”
“Take all the moments you need. Whatever you need I shall wait for you. I shall lift your spirits and I shall chase your weariness away just as you shall mine. We will find happiness and peace this I swear. You are not alone.”
“We are not alone.”
“We have each other and we will do what we must to fight on.”
“I love you.”
“And I love you. Never forget this.”

One of my long time patrons requested a space painting tutorial with a focus on how to make the stars shine and the colors vibrant. So I recorded a speed paint I made under 10 minutes of how to paint the Milky Way. I hope it helps!
