Tisha B’Av - which lasts between the night of August 13th to August 14th in 2016 - is a time of mourning for Jewish people from the numerous tragedies that have occurred against Jewish people on this date.  It is customary to fast on Tisha B’Av as well as not clean any clothes, wear leather shoes, pr get haircuts.  Due to the fact that the 9th of Av falls on Shabbat this year, Tisha B’Av won’t be observed until the 10th of Av.
