“Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs has appointed three new governors to join the Academy’s 51-seat Board. Reginald Hudlin (Directors Branch), Gregory Nava (Writers Branch) and Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Short Films and Feature Animation Branch) were confirmed by the current Board members for three-year terms, effective immediately.”

Visual effects is massively a team game, more so maybe than any other department. And we have to thank people in two directions: we’ve got to thank the studio, we’ve got to thank the production. We’ve got to thank Alex for being an amazing director. We have to thank Alicia for being Ava. And we have to thank the teams of artists, production and technical personnel at Double Negative, Milk VFX, and Utopia, who are amazing. Without them we are nothing.

Pixar Wins Big At 43rd Annie Awards: 

“Pixar Animation Studios was the big winner at the 43rd Annual Annie Awards. ‘Inside Out’ won Best Animated Feature along with 11 other categories, including Outstanding Music – Michael Giacchino; Outstanding Editing – Kevin Nolting; Outstanding Production Design – Ralph Eggleston; Outstanding Voice Acting – Phyllis Smith as ‘Sadness’; Outstanding Writing – Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley; and Best Directing – Pete Docter. This year was the first for the new category Best Animated Feature, Independent with Filme de Papel’s ‘Boy and the World’ taking this top honor.”
