INFRARED EXPLORATIONS
Originally the reason for purchasing an Infrared converted Sony Nex 5 was to shoot for black and white conversion. After Wimbledon ended a sports photographer, Tom Jenkins, shared a set of colour infrared images he had taken during the tournament. www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2017/jul/13/wimbledon-2017-tennis-in-infra-red-in-pictures These images inspired to me to experiment with colour infrared. My knowledge remains limited but this image is my first attempt. During my efforts to understand post processing colour infrared there was a realisation on my part that the colour was down to my imagination (aka vision) It was shot using a custom white balance, processed in Lightroom to achieve the colours that appealed to me. In addition I added Glamour Glow in Nik ColorFx Pro4 plus Topaz Simplify Edge & Detail. I regularly use textures on my images and this is the case with this one. To finish I added two textures at reduced opacity to complete the post processing.

WOODLAND AFTERNOON LIGHT
Around three years ago I began a project entitled 'Ephemeral Shadows', which was based around the fact within minutes a shadow will change. The following day or week or month it will never be the same that year. During the course of doing this I started to see the same concept applied to light and this was the catalyst to my 'Transitory Light' images. as time went by there was a realisation that the two projects at times were represented in a single image and this resulted in me combining in a set of images entitled 'Moments in Time'. As I walk around with my camera(s) seeing the light is now embedded in my mind constantly searching for a shaft of light or the fall of a shadow. This particular image,'Woodland Afternoon Light' was captured walking through a small woodland at Milford on sea with a converted infrared camera. The way the canopy filtered light it illuminated these leaves in the undergrowth. I processed the image using my normal workflow of Lightroom, Photoshop and, in this case, Nik Silver FX Pro2. It is still early days of me shooting with my infrared covered Sony Nex 5 but I am enjoying the journey.
