Hello everyone! I dug my age-old tumblr out from its dusty grave to share a project I’ve been working on ;__; I really wanted my friends to be able to watch this show since I love kishou hongi so much so I decided to make subtitles, and I thought it was wasteful not to share them with everyone else!! It’s my first time making subtitles so let me know if there are any major problems ^_^

They’re split into honpen and live, since I know the bluray will let you do them separately when it’s finally out.

The ones I have are individually done for archive and delay, and I will be updating once the bluray is out. If you find they’re slightly off time, I recommend Aegisub to mass-shift the timestamps so they will fit better.

PSA: I’m Sharing My Links Again!

Omataseshimashita! Earlier this year, I stopped sharing my files temporarily after an FB group ended up sharing my files without my permission. Since then I have been apologised to by the admin for the issue, so it’s all water under the bridge. 

But after that I have been quite busy with IRL throughout the year, and constantly debated on whether I would re-open my files again. But now I have a little bit of time (before I become SUPER busy from tomorrow until November 29th) to re-open them after such a long period of time! xD

I do apologise to those who had to wait until I re-opened my links again, as I didn’t want to hurt you guys in the crossfire for someone else’s mistake. But I was upset by the whole issue and trust is very important to me, and the more it gets broken, the more it hurts me >.< But I do thank everyone for being so patient with me, and I just hope that it will be the last. 

This time around I haven’t made any changes to my files as I currently don’t have the time to do that. But if it does happen again, after watching what some other people do, I will consider watermarking my files (like I already have with Itsukushima Jinja), or having my links open for a short period of time, or going by a monthly vote system and giving it to those that voted for it. So all I ask is that if someone is interested, please direct them to me. I know it might be easier to just give them the file, but the money we spend on these things is a lot. And it upsets us when things like our files being shared or re-uploaded without our permission happens. 

Moving on! All of my download posts have been edited so people can either ask me for the links on tumblr via My Ask Box, or in Tenimyutopia on Live Journal as well. And if you do get it from Tenimyutopia, if you feel like it, you can drop a ‘thanks’ in the comments on the download post in Tenimyutopia (as I like seeing them) :D

Concepts of Each Sword According to the Touken Ranbu Movie’s Stunt Coordinator

(This is a summarized translation of “Keypoint 3: Action” in Ginmaku no Touken Danshi, the behind the scenes special of the Touken Ranbu movie. The comments were made by Hibari Daisuke, the movie’s stunt coordinator.)

♔ Mikazuki Munechika - Fights with grace and beauty. His movements are akin to Nichibu (which, according to Wikipedia, “refers to a few dance genres such as kabuki buyō performed in theatre, and Kamigata mai that encompasses the style of dancing performed by geisha .”). And even when he’s in a pinch, he still seems like he’s got a handle on the situation.

♔ Yamanbagiri Kunihiro - Has a sword and a metal scabbard; He’s not exactly dual wielding but he could cut down enemies with his sword and use his scabbard to deal a blow. Some Battoujutsu (a combative quick-draw sword technique) was also incorporated into his fighting style.

♔ Yagen Toushirou - He’s a tantou so he’s a close combat fighter. He gets into his opponent’s space to take them down. His actor is very nimble, so the coordinator gradually added in more soaring jumps to being out more of his potential.

♔ Fudou Yukimitsu - He’s done somersaults and aerial stunts before, so the stunt coordinator incorporated the stunts the actor could do, and some moves similar to Druken Boxing but for a tantou.

♔ Heshikiri Hasebe - At first, the stunt coordinator had a totally different image in mind for Hasebe. Given the sword’s lines (“Oshikiru!” or “Pressure slash!”) and history, he had pegged Hasebe as the epitome of a Japanese period drama (Jidaigeki). When he first presented his idea to his actor, Wada rejected it, saying, “This isn’t what Hasebe’s like. He’s more cavalier, like a knight.” So he decided to rethink the concept. It didn’t feel enough to just make Hasebe’s moves knightly, so he incorporated so Chinese-style sword fighting into Hasebe’s repertoire, and he whirls his sword round and round as he fights.

I still cry my eyes out because of this scene. This is so touching yet painful. That soft smile of Mikazuki and the tears of Yamanbagiri. Mikazuki has always been there and be the light for Manbachan, through everything. And he is now sending his beloved mentor..... damn it. Hiroki sama is sooooo goooodddd. I mean his eyes and everything. Their fighting is so decent that I cant.... and for God sake Mackey cried so hard that I can feel the pain so clear :(((( this is surely my favvvvvv foreverr
