However, not all goes to plan, and Abigail finds herself confronted with an old enemy: Nolan the musician, the husband of Maribelle, who teaches the kittens about the ghosts of Fuchsford, the haunted city.

Hello Lion’s Daughter enjoyers! Chapter 2 is now available, but I likely won’t be posting it to tumblr because it takes too much time for the little feedback I receive. But I now have a website where you can read PDFs!

Chapter 2 is priced for now, but I will lower the prices of older chapters when newer ones come out. Then once chapter 8 is released volume 1 will be printed in a physical book you can buy. Even if it’s not much, I want to work toward the standard of artists getting payed for their work. Thanks so much for reading chapter 1 :)

TLD Discord Server + Contest Announcement!

Hello everyone! Thanks again for all the love and support on The Lion's Daughter. I'm here with an announcement on the future of the comic.

Chapter 1 has 4 remaining pages to be released, reaching a total of 42 pages. I expect most chapters to be on average 40 pages long, and I have 24 chapters scripted. Chapter 2 is 37 pages long and I have finished 24 of them. That said, it should be finished early-mid May.

In the meantime, here are some things you can do...

1. Join the new Lion's Daughter Den discord server.

This will be a space to chat with fellow readers, share fanart, and get sneak peaks at upcoming pages. You can also ask me questions about the comic, whether that be about the story or practical questions about the schedule and new releases.

2. Watch the YouTube content

The people who subscribed to me for warrior cats don't like this but I make a lot of Lion's Daughter content on my YouTube channel. You can find map parts, pmvs, and storyboards about the story all on this playlist here.

I am also planning to release a PMV or AMV style video for every chapter that is released. Chapter 1's video is The Keys of Canterbury, and the video for Chapter 2 is already close to completion.

3. Reread Chapter 1

Okay sure, but I think this is a really good idea since all pages will soon have been released. Reading them all together will help you get more familiarized with story/characters and help you get hyped for the coming release of chapter 2.

✨I am also pleased to announce a contest for TLD! There are a lot of cats to be drawn for their world and I think it would be a fantastic opportunity for community involvement to open submissions for background characters. If you would love to see your pet or original character appear in The Lion's Daughter, please consider participating ✨

Contest Rules

1. You may submit up to three character designs for a background character to appear in Chapter 3.

2. The design may be of a pet, existing character (warriors oc, etc), or an entirely new character. Do not submit other people's characters. Designs should be semi-realistic, enough that they will not stand out, and you may tweak existing designs to fit this.

3. If you choose a pet, you must submit a drawing (not just a photograph). If you choose a character, you must create a new drawing of this character suited for the Lion's Daughter universe. Priority will be given to submissions with outfits. Clothing style is early-mid 1910s North American, but no need to worry about historical accuracy as I will tweak designs as needed.

4. To help spread word about the comic and so that everyone can appreciate your designs, submissions must be posted publicly on Deviantart, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, or another social media platform. Participants are also encouraged to send their links in the TLD discord server.

5. Submissions are due May 5th, 2023, in anticipation for the release of chapter 2. That way, I'll be able to start sketching chapter 3 with the selected characters in mind <3
