Finally got around to finishing up my yearbook mock-ups for my 80s AU (plus for Artfight as well). This took me a little over a week to finish LOL

80’s AU Goth Robin lore just dropped 😌 (tap to view in full resolution)

* Robin fled to Grand Line City with Olvia, Clover, and the Oharan scholars amidst the anti-intellectual movement of the 1960’s. Following an anonymous tip that leaked their whereabouts to the WG, Olvia and Clover secretly entrusted Robin under the care of Jaguar D. Saul before their execution. He promptly adopted her, re-naming her Jaguar D. Sunday.

* This event shaped her dream to become a professor of Archaeology, to teach others how to decipher the Poneglyphs and to lift the WG’s ban on studying Void Century. Unfortunately, she has not pursued education beyond her library science certificate as she is under surveillance by the Marine Admiral Kuzan, who has been suspicious of her ever since.

* In the present timeline, she works as the head library technician at one of the Grand Line Public Library locations in Water 7.

* At night, she dons a death rock alter ego and goes by her birth name, Robin.

* Frequents the cemetery to visit the unmarked graves of the Oharans. There, she befriends groundskeeper, Brook, and child prodigy, Chopper.

* Is a regular at the nightclub, Thriller Bark, where she met her friend and roommate, Perona.

* In an on and off relationship with med student Trafalgar D. Water Law.

* Meets Zoro and his band, The Straw Hats, at a neighboring bar when Thriller Bark temporarily closes (following a visit from the health inspector). And there’s something about their music, their dynamic, and that green-haired drummer that intrigues her…

It was so important to me that Stolas was able to be sad throughout the entire episode. Usually media likes to rush a character's grief/depression/sadness. Like "Stop moping around" or "get over it already." Depression doesn't just go away. It is a persistent feeling of sadness.

His depression was also presented through various emotions/emotional states.

Lethargy

Crying

Anger / frustration

Self-blame

Not wanting company and being emotionally drained and unable to reciprocate

We even see him Smiling / Laughing which is so important because we see that he is still in there behind the sadness and tears. His laugh is not as lively as it once but he is still capable of smiling and finding joy.

His problems weren't fix in the end and his sadness didn't go away even if he has someone who loves him by his side (and even if he loves him too). And I think this is one of the best depictions I have seen of a depressed character in media in a long time.
