Bio
♥ since the rosewells were unable to conceive a baby, they adopted amada when she was four-years-old. they did not expect to find a child as quickly as they did, but after meeting amada the rosewells immediately fell in love with her and did what was necessary to adopt her. and although amada was a very lively child who talked ridiculously fast and drove her parents up the wall, she was well-behaved and listened when she needed to. the rosewells were patient with her hyperactivity and thought her rambunctious personality was endearing. they frequently made the effort to spend time with her: reading to her every night, doing one-thousand piece puzzles with her, and having nightly talks with her. there was never a time where either parent was negligent, they were always supportive and there for their daughter.
♥ amada fell in love with reading books after her parents read to her “charlotte’s web” when she was seven. she loved the book so much that she asked her mother to read it to her several times, which eventually led to her trying to read it on her own. it was during this time that amada discovered she had dyslexia. her parents hired her a tutor and, due to her determination to read the books she loved so much, she learned how to love reading on her own. after learning the wonders of reading on her own, amada read “charlotte’s web” repeatedly. it was her favorite book, but in order to show her daughter that there were more good books out there, mrs. rosewell brought amada to the library; where she found various books to fall in love with.
♥ amada’s love of reading eventually turned into a love of writing. when she was in middle school her mother would buy her colorful spiral notebooks and amada would write stories in them. amada found mathematics and science difficult, but writing and reading were classes she held near and dear. and while she had friends in middle school who she loved and adored, amada would frequently go to the library to read stories or write. she would continue to do such even in high school where she was heavily involved with cheerleading. even with cheerleading and the social tasks that came with it, amada still made time to read and write.
♥ after graduating high school, amada went on to study english and sociology in college. amada was ecstatic to get to read and write, even though it was for a grade. she ended up reading classics that she grew to love, along with the works of shakespeare for which she grew to adore. it was college where she met her first love – a woman named cecilia – who swept amada off her feet. amada was so surprised by the fact that she fell in love so fast, but everything about cecila made it hard for her not to fall in love with her. cecilia was intelligent and was always teaching her things she thought was boring. on more than one occasion, cecilia would take amada on adventures to art museums and clubs. it was during this amazing relationship that amada made the effort to begin writing her first book. whenever she wasn’t invested in school, her friends, or her girlfriend amada was busy writing away her book. it took her two years to write, but by that time her relationship with cecila ended and left her with a broken heart.
♥ as much as amada tried to put her book out there, several publishing companies rejected her writing and called her whimsical for believing so desperately in love and affection. they saw her romance novel as unrealistic and told her right to her face that no one would read it. just as she was beginning to lose hope, she received a call ‘just reads’ that offered her good pay for her book. and by the time they published it, amada became well-known to the mothers and young women who enjoyed reading saucy romance novels. while amada was happy her book took off, she was still heartbroken, and instead of putting her effort into writing another romantic erotica novel, she wrote a crime novel about a female detective who had all the strengths and weaknesses that the men in crime novels she read had.
♥ her publishing company was hesitant about publishing a crime novel under her name, since her break-out novel was a fairytale fantasy that revolved around love, but one of the workers told her it would be good to use a pseudonym for her new project. amada happily agreed, taking on the name of ‘sky waters’ for her crime novel. after that book, however, amada became depressed – still upset about her lost love and lack of love life – and found it difficult to write. she ended up moving to portland to live with her adoptive sister.
♥ amada had enough money from her two books to live a healthy lifestyle, but she took on a job at a bookstore to keep her mind off of things. amada then came to discover that she missed writing after assisting a young girl who wanted a book similar to “charlotte’s web”. with that little nudge in the right direction, amada sought a psychiatrist who put her on medication for major depression. after seeing her psychiatrist for a year, amada finally found the inspiration to write again. her new story would be another romantic erotica novel about a female boss of a multi-million dollar corporation falling in love with a barista at a coffee shop she frequently visited.
♥ as she wrote the book, amada made the effort to start dating, again – well dating and sleeping around. she thought it would help inspire her work if she tried different experiences with different people. with her new exciting love-life amada discovered that no one had the same sexual or romantic experiences with one person as they did another. this excited amada, but she got a little too carried away and began to date with and sleep with different people while dating and sleeping with different people around the same time. some of her partners grew angry and resentful toward her, but amada still wanted to see what kind of people were out there. in truth, amada was looking for love wherever she could find it, yet failed because she was searching too desperately in the wrong places.
♥ after finishing her third book, amada continued to work for the bookstore she’d been working at when she moved to portland. she enjoyed the warm feeling of being surrounded by books and felt restless staying home for too long. the idea of being away from the bookstore too long made her feel upset, and in a sense, being there was a coping mechanism from her intrusive thoughts. although amada had been dating and sleeping around, she still felt empty. she knew, from advice that she couldn’t rely on love to fix her emptiness, but it was still a nice thought, finding love. instead of finding a romantic partner, however, amada made a few friends with some of the women who visited the bookstore she worked for. while these women did not give her romantic love, they helped her realize she wasn’t living enough and that she needed to more involved with the outside world.
♥ amada has signed up for various night classes at the local community college to keep her busy: a cooking class, a dance class, and a spanish class. learning new skills helped distract her and keep her mind off things. she loved learning new skills, digging her hands into whatever she could touch. she loved getting to show off her new-found skills and will show off to anyone who’s willing to pay attention. in truth she loves loves loves attention, because it makes her feel loved. in a driving class, she learned how to drive a motorcycle and bought one soon after. the freedom she felt with the wind blowing in her hair was almost as good as reading a good book.
♥ recently, she’s learned more about her biological parents – well, her mother, she has no information on her father. she discovered she has a twin sister, but doesn’t really know what to do with that information. amada considers that maybe the empty feeling she’s been feeling has to do with missing someone she never really knows, yet is hesitant about meeting this woman. she doesn’t know what she’d say to her, or know how that experience will affect her.
platonic
amada is extremely vivacious and is the type of person who walks into the room and makes it her main goal to be noticed. she doesn't like being ignored, so she acts a little extra for the sake of being extra and tends to talk just to hear the sound of her voice. although she’s a chatterbox who enjoys having a good time, amada is the type of friend who listens to your problems and gives input whenever she can. it doesn’t matter what she’s doing, if you’re her friend, she will make time to spend time with you and happily bask in your company. another thing about amada is that she’s a very playful and flirtatious person. she is not shy at all and tends to dive in head first to get what she wants. due to that, she can be a great person to drag to parties and clubs. I kind of want her to have some quiet friends, though. Simply so she can have people to talk to on days when she isn’t feeling very energetic.
romantic
amada writes erotica romance novels for the fun of it. she is a firm believer in all things romantic and loves any form of romantic gestures. she herself is very romantic and will treat her romantic partners with love and devotion. while she is a huge romantic, amada loves sex; it feels good and doesn’t always have to be linked to romance for her. she uses it as a form of stress relief. and, not only that, she uses it as inspiration for her books and blog. amada has exes from all walks of life, along with former quick flings whom she is now friends with.
antagonistic
amada needs enemies, because enemies are fun. she’s wild and dramatic, so some people will not like her. she also doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut when it comes to her opinions. and like, enemy plots are fun to write.
everyone else People who are fans of her books would be AMAZING! Whether they like her for her crime novels, or they like her for her erotica novels, Amada would be beyond ecstatic to give autographs and take pictures. She loves her fans so much and hopes to inspire them to write their own stories. Her book is called ‘Breathless’ and was as popular as 50 Shades of Gray

☼ rivka abitol did not speak until she was eight-years-old. her parents assumed she was ill, but her doctor assured them that she was simply a late bloomer and would eventually speak in her own time. in an attempt to get rivka to speak, they made the effort to get her to ask for things – like toys and treats – by leaving them in various places throughout the house. rivka did not budge, however; she kept her silence. it took rivka a few years, but at the age of eight, she finally began to speak. her first words were simple – like ‘ima’ and ‘dooby’ - and eventually led to her speaking in longer sentences. by the time rivka was nine, she was talking in full paragraphs like any other child.
☼ once rivka began talking she never stopped. she would talk her mother’s ear off, going into details about her school day and her friends. her mother found her rivka’s words endearing, usually smiling as she spoke. she felt blessed that her daughter was healthy and lively.
☼ when rivka was fourteen, her parents moved to the united states. after living in tel aviv, israel for most of their lives they made the choice to move for a better life. mr. abitol had been offered a well-paying job and it was in their best interest to take it. rivka wasn't upset with their choice to move, but she felt sad to leave her friends and family behind. it was true that tel aviv had always been her home, however, living in a less cautious environment and getting to start over sounded nice to rivka.
☼ living in the united states took some getting used to, but eventually, rivka got her land legs and the united states began to feel like home. since rivka already knew english, it was easy for her to adapt to her middle school. with her lively personality and lack of hesitance, rivka managed to make friends without much difficulty.
☼ in high school, rivka used her social skills to get into various clubs. one, in particular, involved writing for the school newspaper. while rivka enjoyed the other clubs she was in, she began to discover she was more passionate about working for the school newspaper than anything else. and for fun, rivka would try and write interesting articles about the stories she heard in school.
☼ when rivka graduated high school, she went on to study journalism in college. she was invested in her classes and was a very hard worker. she had very good grades and even tried to make friends with her professors. in college she joined a sorority, leading her gain strong friendships that would last into her adulthood.
☼ once she was out of college, rivka began to look for work. it was difficult at first, because the cities she wanted to work for weren't looking for new journalist - especially not someone out of college. eventually, she found a job in boston, massachusetts, where she wrote for the local paper. it was during this time that rivka met the love of her life. the two were smitten after a chance encounter at a grocery store. the two of them swapped numbers in the baking aisle and have not been apart ever since.
☼ after being together for several years, rivka’s partner proposed. rivka was enthralled to start a new life with her love. she couldn’t wait to start a family and live in some apartment somewhere in boston. somewhere along the way though, her partner’s mother got sick and they wound up moving to a small town in washington. and while rivka was happy to start a new life with the love of her life, she was sad to leave boston for such a small town.
☼ rivka adapted to her new environment and eventually came to love it. since she was no longer in the city, it was easier for her to clear her mind. there wasn’t as much noise to serve as a distraction when she wanted to write. rivka also grew to love her partner’s mother, who she took care of until she found an opportunity to work as a journalist out of town. her partner’s mother was happy she was given the opportunity, but that meant the woman would have to stay with a home nurse when rivka and her partner weren’t home.
☼ though her job is forty-five minutes out of town, rivka still spends a majority of her free time in the comfort of in town. it has become home to her because the people there tend to look out for each other; something she did not notice from city life. at the moment, she and her partner are currently living in a suburb, and she is expecting a baby in the next five months.

Bio:
* Thomas was born on April 1st. His mother had had a baby two years before, so he was the 2nd and youngest Donovan child. Thomas’ parents were incredibly busy people, who cared more about their careers than spending time with their children. For the most part, Thomas spent most of his time with nannies and his sister. Once every blue moon he'd see his parents, but when they were around they weren't very attentive.
*Tommy did not grow to despise his parents, however. Their absence happened to make him love them more; or rather a version of them he made up in his head. Other than his parents never being around, Tommy did have a wonderful childhood with people who loved and supported him. Because of this, Tommy was a very happy and friendly child who usually saw the bright side of things.
In elementary school Tommy found it easy to make friends. He wasn't shy and was rather chatty. And while he was always being scolded at by his teachers for saying stupid jokes at the wrong time, his teachers didn't hate him and even let him stay after class when he asked if he could. which was a lot, since he wasn't really invested in school. For the most part, Tommy liked reading and social studies, but when it came to science and math he struggled. With the help of tutors and his teachers, Tommy grew to like those subjects.
* In High School, Tommy used his charisma to make new friends. While he was that kid who usually sat in the library during lunch, he involved himself in a lot of clubs and after-school activities. Working for the school newspaper happened to be his favorite activity. He would work day in and day out to discover the stories he had heard about around school. And while some of those stories were tame, others ended with teachers or classmates angry with him. Tommy didn't care about that, though. In his mind, it was his duty to tell the truth and sometimes the truth hurt.
*After High School, Tommy went on to university to study journalism. During his stay at college he met the woman of his dreams. The two hit it off automatically, but as time went on, Tommy and the woman drifted apart. Tommy was a little disheartened by the end of their relationship, yet let himself move on. Although he was a busy guy, he would date other women around and away from campus. Eventually, he stopped looking and focused on making new friends and going to parties.
*When he finished college, Tommy discovered how hard it was to find a job. Most people wanted experienced journalists with years of experience and he had none. As time went on, though, he did find a job working on an advice column. He thought the job was stupid, but he did it anyway. He worked that job for four years. After those four years, Tommy went to work a job in Los Angeles, California that he applied to as a joke. Unlike his old job, Tommy really loved his new job. Not only that, but Tommy loved LA. It was the last place he expected to live, and yet, he loved it.
*Somewhere during his time in LA Tommy fell in love with his childhood friend. And like his relationship in college, he and the woman drifted apart. However, the woman came back to him about nine months later with a baby. She told him that she wasn't ready for a baby and if he didn't take the baby she would give her up for adoption. Tommy wasn't sure he was ready for a baby, but he agreed to raise the baby on his own.
*Now, his daughter is six-years-old and Tommy is still a journalist. He loves to relax and have a good time and is usually the life of any party he's attending. He thinks he has a good life and wants to make it better by taking any interesting opportunity that is thrown his way.

LIKE IT’S HARD?
♦ Seven words: Elle Woods and Annalise Keating love-child.
♦ Sidney was born in New Delhi, India on March 26th. Her parents saw her as their miracle baby; since they assumed they were unable to have kids. They were loving parents who paid attention to her and let try new things and hobbies. Her father was invested in a business that eventually led to her family moving to New York City. At 8 years old, Sidney was a curious child who was always asking questions and getting into trouble. Usually, she was seen roughhousing with the boys who lived in her apartment complex and that really bothered her traditional mother. Her mother would attempt to show her feminine hobbies, but Sidney always refused and preferred playing with the boys. Her mother gave up on trying to get Sidney interested in feminine things after Sid told her they were in a new country and these sort of things were okay in the US.
♦ Sidney was very social in High School. She made a lot of friends (who she grew up to cherish). It was in high school where Sidney discovered she liked both girls and boys. She was really shy about it because her parents were very religious. In truth, she thought that her parents would disown her when she told them. But when her mother spotted her kissing a girl when picking her up from school, her mother attempted to understand and did her own research. She ended up accepting her daughter, telling her that as long as she was happy she was fine with it. Sidney also grew to love feminine things like makeup and shopping. She still hung out with the boys her age, but she did it with painted nails and nice shoes
♦ When it came to college, Sidney ended up leaving New York City to attend Texas A&E’s law program. She was excited to get out New York City for a bit and gain some independence. Sidney joined a sorority while there and put a lot of effort into her classes. A lot of people who didn’t know her that well would make mean comments about her being too stupid to be a law student since she liked girlish things and giggled a lot. However, Sidney ended up proving those people wrong when she received her law degree and was the top of her class.
♦ Sidney now lives in New York City, again. She works as a Criminal Defense Lawyer. She’s a sweetheart, but she could fucking demolish you in a courtroom. A lot of people underestimate her because of her optimistic and bubbly personality, but when she’s working she’s not somebody to fuck with. She wants to help people and goofing off helps no one, so she cuts the shit and gets to work when she’s working. Since she works in a male-dominated occupation, she knows she has to look tough as nails to be taken seriously. While she may be friendly with her colleagues, she isn’t friendly with all of them and isn’t afraid to show it.
♦ Sidney is bisexual, but usually goes for women and not men. She likes to make men cry and puts them through hell for a little while, but she’s never had a serious relationship with a man and doesn’t plan on it. She is very respectful towards women, though, and usually is a fluffball and a romantic around them. She’ll wine and dine women whenever they show her any interest. She’s also one to woo beautiful women – even those who might come off as straight.
♦ Sid is a fucking goofball. While people who work with her might not see it, people who are friends with her can tell she’s a dork who happens to be as soft as a marshmallow. Sidney cares so much for people that, as a side project, she works for an innocent project to help criminals who were wrongly accused. When she’s not doing that, she is a wonderful friend who will give you the jacket off her back if you seem cold. She’s usually one phone call away and will talk to friends when they need her most (unless she’s working). Sidney basically looks like a princess, but she has a dirty sense of humor that shows that she used to hang around men all the time.
♦ Sidney has tried to try as many new things as possible. She also attempts to talk to her neighbors and people she doesn’t know. She is easily bored, so sometimes she’ll walk around the city to distract herself. In truth, she doesn’t like to stay indoors too long because she gets a little stir crazy. She’d much rather be involved in the world than stay inside all day.
♦ When she’s not working at the law firm or working on the innocence project, Sidney hunts ghosts. There are a lot of places in and near New York City that are supposedly haunted that she’d like to explore. Sidney jokingly started ghost hunting with a close friend of hers after a joke, and the two of them record their encounters and have a youtube channel that’s criticized because she and her friend say ‘fuck’ a lot. People always tell her the hobby is bullshit, but she loves the idea of finding a ghost. So far she’s found nothing to show that they exist. But it’s all fun and games for her.
PLATONIC: Sidney is incredibly loving! She’s lived in New York City since she was eight, but left to go to university in Texas. Once she finished school, she moved back to New York to be closer to her parents. She is the girl who compliments your outfit or makeup in the bathroom; or rather, she’s that girl who always compliments people and has something positive to say. She’s incredibly optimistic and is a very affectionate person who is always platonically touching people. However, at work, she might come off as a bit of a hardass. Since she’s a criminal defense attorney she believes no one will take her seriously if she’s all smiles, so she puts on a serious front and a very “don’t fuck with me” attitude. For fun she moonlights as a ghost hunter and a conspiracy theorist. She believes in things she can’t see and likes to be open to possibilities. She’s also very chatty and loves to talk to strangers. Once you get a conversation going with her she’ll keep going and going, until you leave or ask her to pause. I believe Sid has a lot of friends, because she loves to surround herself with people. SO YES!! ALL THE PALS!!
ROMANTIC Sidney is bisexual. She tends to date women more often than men, though. Usually, she’ll sleep with men, but she never has any romantic feelings toward them. I’d imagine she has a few exes or former one-night stands who she’s friends with or doesn’t like at all. She’s a very loyal partner who puts 100% into her relationships,
ANTAGONISTIC: Sidney is really sweet, but she can also be a terror - specifically toward men. There’s a possibility that she has both enemies and rivals from all walks of life, but for the most part, she doesn’t really trust men who aren’t her friends and I assume they can sense that and don’t like her.

Normal Verse:
♦ At the age of two, Claudia was adopted by Susanna and Ivan Daviau. Susanna could not have children and Ivan wanted them. Both the Daviaus were attentive parents, even though they were busy with their own personal lives. Susanna, a former socialite, worked as a television host in New York city. Ivan worked as the owner of a hotel chain (The Daviau Hotel) and the owner of a few oil wells. They adopted other children, who they loved dearly, and were very supportive of Claudia while she was growing up. Since the Daviaus were busy people, when they weren’t around, the young children were usually in the company of nannies. Claudia found herself growing attached to her nannies and saw them as her extended family. And while her nannies were great and helped her grow into the woman she is today, they all would come and go throughout her life.
♦ One nanny in particular had grown rather fond of her, and Claudia grew fond of her as well. Her name was Lucinda and she would read with her and her siblings every night. A majority of the books were silly – mostly Dr. Seuss and Shell Silverstein. While others stuck with her and helped shape her adult life. Although the detectives in Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes were fictional, Claudia found their search for answers admirable. She began to pretend to be those detectives and began to search for the hidden truths and secrets found in the lives of people around her.
While Susanna thought it was wonderful that Claudia had found a new interest, she wanted Claudia to branch out and try new things. Susanna got her to try piano, ballet, fencing; but Claudia always wound up interested in her search for truth. The more Susanna tried to push her away from her new-found hobby, the more invested in it she became.
♦ During this curious phase of her life, Claudia learned her family’s picture-perfect life wasn’t as perfect as it seemed. With all this information in mind, she finally opened her eyes to the fact that the world was flawed and that everyone made mistakes. She found that beautiful, because she was reminded that no one was perfect.
♦ When she was thirteen-years-old, Claudia went to private school. It was this age where Lucinda quit to go live with her family in Mexico. The loss of Lucinda crushed her like nothing else had, but she trooped through it with the support of her siblings and parents.
♦ In private school, she was meant to learn manners and good behavioral skills. However, Claudia became even more invested in her education and speaking her mind. While making friends was hard at first, she managed to find a few people who were worthy of her time and attention. Being around this small group of people led her to believe that she really enjoyed talking to others and that she was interested in learning about what made her friends act the way acted and that pushed her to learn what made them who they were. Claudia’s friends helped her get in touch with a more humane side of herself, helped her become more charismatic, along with more open to others and their stories. In the end, though, she did choose her studies over her friends. With summer classes, determination and an intense dedication to her studies, Claudia graduated three years early.
♦ During university, Claudia focused on achieving her goal of becoming a psychiatrist. While attending school, Claudia found herself testing out the waters of various clubs, even joining a sorority for a short period. To her, university was freedom. It was a reminder of how much she could do to make something of herself. She was moderately homesick, though, and often wrote and called her family to see how they were doing.
Away from school, the start of her residency proved to much more exciting than she thought. Always on the move, always distracted, Claudia enjoyed keeping busy; it was one of her favorite things about her job. After receiving a job with the emergency psych unit and working her ass off , Claudia randomly decided she didn’t want to be a psychiatrist and decided to change her career path: she wanted to work as a cop. Having taken courses in criminal psychology and profiling, along with her prior credentials, it was something she planned on (but didn’t expect to happen) from the get-go. In order to follow this new path, Claudia signed up for the police academy. Much like school, Claudia dedicated herself to the academy and eventually got her badge. Though it took her a long while to receive her ‘land legs’ when it came to the occupation, her co-workers soon discovered her knack for profiling criminals and talking to the victims of crime. At first, she worked small jobs - like giving people tickets and stopping house parties - but eventually she made it to detective.
♦ Enjoying her work, she adapted to her new life and the excitement that came with it. She found a friend and roommate in a woman named Rachel and the two happily lived together. However, to her surprise, Claudia eventually ran into trouble with a man named, Jackson Kent. Jackson, an intelligent man with a fucked up sense of humor, got her mixed into a disturbing game of cat and mouse. While she was able to fend for herself and succeeded in catching the bastard – one gunshot to the knee - she soon discovered Jackson was only a small piece of an even bigger puzzle. What she was dealing with was a group of people being manipulated by one person in particular. And even though she had a long, serious, and angry conversation with Jack in the interview room about who the fuck that person was, she wasn’t given any answers. She was annoyingly given a smug laugh and a riddle on expecting the unexpected.
It took her roommate, Rachel, shooting her, for Claudia to understand Rachel was the person pulling the strings. Once Claudia learned the truth about her friend, Claudia felt stupid and decided to quit her job for a short period of time.
♦ She didn’t want to let Rachel win, however, so she ended up going back to work. With the support of her family and colleagues, she went right back into the swing of things with little problems. Now, not only does she put one-hundred percent into her job, she has signed up for various activities to keep her mind occupied and has been spending more time with her siblings. Frequently, she will go to family game nights and dinners, or will call her family to have her own.
Psychic Powers/Immortal Verse:
tw: death, bullying, brief description of corpse
At the age of two, I was adopted by Susanna and Ivan Daviau. Susanna could not have children and Ivan wanted them. They were both busy people who cared for me in their own ways, but were much too invested in their personal lives to really give me the attention I wanted. Since I was usually in the company of nannies, I found myself growing more attached to them. And while my nannies were great and helped me grow into the woman I am today, they all eventually left me. One nanny, in particular, had grown rather fond of me, and I her. Her name was Lucinda and she would read with me every night. A majority of the books were silly; mostly Dr. Seuss and Shell Silverstein. While others stuck with me and helped shape my adult life. Although the detectives in Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes were fictional, I found their search for answers admirable. I began to pretend to be those detectives and began to search for the hidden truths and secrets found in the lives of people around me. My mother thought it was a waste of time and wasn’t having any of it. She tried to ignore it, at first. In her mind, if she got me to try new things – piano, ballet, fencing – I’d get over my newfound interest; but I didn’t. The more she tried to push me away from my new-found hobby, the more invested in it I became. During this curious phase of my life, I discovered my father would throw away the letters my mother would give him in the mornings. I learned that my older brother pretended to be the son my father wanted him to be, instead of the cruel bully who smoked pot by the side of the house. Most importantly, I discovered my mother wasn’t the perfect wife and mother she presented herself to be in front of her friends. She was filled with secrets that ranged from one-night stands to having a son I didn’t know about. A son who had gone missing, whose body had yet to be found. With all this information in mind, I finally opened my eyes to the fact that the world was flawed and that everyone made mistakes. When I was thirteen-years-old, my mother sent me away to a boarding school across state. She also fired Lucinda, which crushed me like nothing else had. I suddenly felt lost and more alone than I’ve ever been in my entire life. I never forgave my mother for Lucinda’s loss, either. I began to hate her and made the effort not to reply to her holiday cards. I wanted nothing to do with her. I thought she was attempting to ruin my life. During my stay at boarding school, I had picked up a few friends. The girls were my age, intelligent, and enjoyed my company – weird quirks and all. Being around them, I learned they held their own secrets as well. Though I could easily tell their secrets to everyone, I didn’t. I trusted these girls. The girls I didn’t trust, however, I did reveal the secrets I learned about them and they weren’t very happy about it. One group of girls, who called themselves ‘The Gems’, hated me. After they bullied a friend of mine, I snitched to our teacher that I had seen one of the girls smoking in the schoolyard. I assume she got into a lot of trouble because during one of the free days we were allowed to roam around town one of the bigger girls in that group had ganged up on me and put me over her back. She took me to a nearby cemetery where the rest of the girls were. They gave me a talking to and beat the shit out of me. When they left me, I learned something new about myself …I could see ghosts. [title]What I warn you to remember is that I am a detective. Our relationship with truth is fundamental but cracked, refracting confusingly like fragmented glass. - Tana French, In the Woods[/title]
I’m not bullshiting, either. I was no ‘Long Island Medium’ pretending to see things for money. I could actually see what I assumed were ghosts. The first ghost I ever saw came to me in the cemetery I got beat up in and she was very kind to me. At first, I thought she was some random passerby who wanted to give me a helping hand. But when I reached out to her, my hand went right through her and I freaked the fuck out. I ran right out of that goddamn cemetery and I never looked back. My friends all assumed I looked as mortified as I did because of what had happened to me with The Gems. I let them believe that, too. I was too horrified and too embarrassed to tell them what I had seen. They would think I was crazy. More annoyingly, I’d be made a laughing stock. After that day at the cemetery, I dedicated myself to my studies. I adored my friends, but I no longer could identify with them. I had seen a dead woman and I could no longer shake the image away. I had matured from the experience and hid in my books and studies, instead of putting myself out there as I had before. Until that day, I did not know what it was like to have a secret I did not want anyone to know. I had dedicated most of my life to discovering secrets, and now I was scared of someone finding out mine.
Due to my vigorous study sessions, I graduated a few years earlier than my classmates. Graduating was a freeing experience, but I continued to see and hear things. I knew it would be something I would never be able to get rid of, so I promised myself that I would not let my little gift get in the way of how I lived my life. This was why, when I studied at Columbia University, I made the effort to make friends and involve myself in school activities. I put in lots of effort to be social, while putting in even more effort to make my way into a career as a psychiatrist.
After surviving my residency, I found myself working the emergency psych unit in New York. It was a lot of work. People were always in need of assistance. There were rarely ever any breaks because I was always on my feet. It was my job at the psych unit that made me realize how speaking with ghosts wasn’t as terrible as I was making it out to be. Some of the patients I saw would sometimes pass and I usually stopped what I was doing to try and communicate them. Like their living counterparts, they had secrets. The only difference now was that their secrets had the capability of helping them. I wound up helping a few of them, while a few others were stubborn and decided they didn’t need help, that they got a better kick out of fucking with me. And as much as I enjoyed my job at the emergency psych unit, I decided to change career paths in order to pursue a career as a police officer.
Working as a police officer was exciting. Even when I was doing nothing but handing out tickets and telling party-goers to turn down their music, I was having the time of my life. I felt much happier as a police officer than I did as a psychiatrist. However, once I was given the shot to work as a homicide detective, I got to combine my love of puzzles with the information I’d learned while studying psychiatry.
After about a year, I was given the opportunity to work on an interesting case with one of my colleagues. Her name was Rachel and she was beautiful in a Hitchcock blond sort of way. She was also incredibly good at her job, and for that I admired her. The case started out minor, as though it would be solved in a week or month’s time. But as we dove deeper into the case, we both began to notice things were more complicated than we assumed they’d be.
The mutilated bodies of several of our missing victims had been found in various parts of Los Angeles. We assumed the killer would have gotten bored after six murders, but we discovered differently about a month later into our investigation. With one of the victims escaping, we learned we were biting more than we could chew. The news was surprising to both Rachel and I, and when we reported our findings we were told to let it go. Obsessed with the case, I began to get bored. All I could think about was victims I had tried to find who were found in various parts of the city. I was furious that we weren’t given any answers. Even worse, I felt like the answers were hiding right under my nose. It was a stupid move on my part, but I used my spare time to dedicate myself to the case. From a good friend who took over the case, I discovered that there had been a new body.
I walked to the scene of the crime, claiming to one of my old colleagues that it was important for my work. Of course the crime scene was still as cluttered and messy as the others, and of course, the body had been found somewhere out in the open. Like all the other bodies found, the parts of the victim I could see looked as though she was ready for a date – make-up perfectly kept, opposed to mascara stains, and well-styled hair. Not only that, but when her home was searched, none of her technological devices were found. An important thing I noticed was the fact that I shared similar characteristics of these young women – I had brown hair, I was tall, and olive toned skin. With this in mind, I continued my own investigation by putting myself on dating apps and websites. In the process, I discovered the killer I had stupidly went in search of. Instead of the killer being a man, the killer was a woman. To make matters worse, this woman wasn’t some random woman who was bored and decided to go on a killing spree – this woman was Rachel. Since I had no back-up, Rachel showed me her true colors. I thought she was going to attack me like she attacked her other victims, but instead she shot me twice, leaving me to tumble down the stairs, before telling me to watch my back. ———————————————– PLATONIC Right now Claudia works as a homicide detective. She quit her job for a little while, due to a rough case that nearly ended her life. Although claudia’s sarcastic and blunt nature has a way with pushing people away, she is quite gregarious and won’t shut up once you get her talking. She’s her most social when she’s working, because she can’t afford to be shy when looking for answers. Very active in the community, she has found herself making both wanted and unwanted new friends and acquaintances along the way. She is a very energetic and playful person, along with a very great listener, too. Being friends with claudia might be awkward at times, however, since many of her reactions to things are what she expects people want from her. Meaning, in a way, she only reveals as much to people as she likes, and very few people know the real her. Still, even with her negative personality traits, people who she decides to call ‘friend’ or ‘acquaintance’ get the see a lighter side of her, along with any help they need when they are in need of a helping hand.
ROMANTIC Oh my God, so Claudia is very adventurous and cocky and is in no way shy about her sexuality. She has been known to sleep around and isn’t apologetic about it. However, she is very loyal when she has a romantic partner that she’s serious with. It would be great for her to have a friend with benefits who is more like an enemy with benefits, because she’d have a lot of fun with someone she gets to play argue with it. She likes when people are snappy with her; she thinks it’s really hot. Other than that, I’d really want her to have a future partner (male or female) who drives her up the wall? She’s a bored over-achiever who lives off cheap thrills, so if anyone out there is willing to shake up her life a little, please do
ANTAGONISTIC this garbage fire of a woman is bound to have a few enemies. once she decides she dislikes someone, she tends to let her opinion be known. she hates when people take advantage of her and isn’t afraid to speak her mind when bullshit occurs. sure she’s loyal to those she holds near and dear, but the people who have become her enemy know she’s not the angel she makes herself out to be. when provoked, claudia is not afraid of mind-games or even ruining one’s reputation for the sake of a little old-fashioned revenge. there’s also the fact that her sarcasm could rub people the wrong way. same goes for her realism. not only that, her job as a detective has probably given her just as many enemies as friends.

About
♦ johnathon hart was born to a mother who bit off more than she could chew. she was a wonderful woman with a big heart, but it eventually hit her that she wasn’t ready for a baby. in order for her son to have the life she didn’t feel she could give him, she dropped him off in his carrier at the fire station. his mother left him with a blanket, a letter, and a piece of paper that said ‘fayaz’ on it.
♦ when he was adopted by a young couple, they were told about the piece of paper and used the name ‘fayaz’ as his middle name and went on to name him johnathon (after his adoptive father’s brother). the harts were happy to have john around and took very good care of him. they were very loving toward the - sometimes hyperactive, yet loving – young boy, but john’s adoptive father’s business went bankrupt and the family moved to los angeles to start a new.
♦ during elementary school, his teachers said he was very smart, but found him to be difficult to teach since he couldn’t keep still. he did well socially, though, making friends with any kid who would listen to him talk about his favorite cartoon or movie. eventually, one teacher helped him make learning easier. once she helped, john began to enjoy school and got better grades than before. not only did he begin to excel at school, but john fell in love with numbers. numbers were a language to him and he thought it was beautiful how numbers were the same in different countries.
♦ during high school, john had a lot of girlfriends and boyfriends. some people would make fun of him for being open about his bisexuality, but his parents didn’t care and that was all that mattered to john. john was always that guy who had a girlfriend or a boyfriend and rarely ever was he single. he wasn’t rude or a fuckboy, but he liked to have the company of a romantic partner.
♦ when it came time for college, john decided to go into computer science. specifically, he wanted a career as a solutions architect. he thought it was a really awesome way to use numbers creatively and he would basically be doing what he loved. john was extremely social in college (having joined a fraternity) and made friends with a bunch of computer nerds and jocks. out of habit, he was always cracking jokes and getting involved in crazy pranks. he was never one to say no to dares and was basically the life of the party.
♦ since he missed being close to his parents, he moved back to los angeles. he was sad to leave college, but left with several friends who he still keeps up with in his adulthood. when he’s bored he’ll text his friends and call them to see what’s up. other times he’ll plan trips to visit them. since he needed to do a lot of beginners work before becoming a solutions architect he worked himself to the bone and wasn’t able to be as outgoing as he’d like. he missed going out and being part of the world.
♦ john eventually got over his loneliness and made time for his friendships and love life. he went hiking and took up a yoga class to get by, met up with some buddies from high school.
♦ since he’s finally comfortable in his career, john has a lot more free time to himself. other than spending time with his friends, he’ll go out to the yacht club to hang out there. or he’ll go to the movies. he’s not necessarily a club guy, but he’ll take salsa lessons and go to parties he’s invited to.
♦ generally, john likes to be around people. he doesn’t like being alone and hates places that are quiet. so more often than not, he’ll go to busy coffee shops and places, opposed to places that are more private and intimate. since he gets paid pretty well, he now can afford the nice things he couldn’t afford as a teenager and he takes advantage of his new salary by buying himself nice things. he’s loving life right now, to be honest, and that’s really all that matters.
