Miko: Do you care if I take the skin off this furby?
Ratchet: Uuuuuuh what??
Miko: I.. I.... want to... make him god.
Miko: Once he is free of his sinful flesh he can begin the path towards enlightenment.
Miko: He will..... take care... of us....
Miko: Also I want to soft hack his circuits.
Ratchet: I literally could not care less but please never say anything as frightening as that ever again.

Miko could convince Megatron that he is an alien lolcow without explaining what a lolcow is.

I get so upset with how Prime handled the kids. They eventually faded completely from the narrative. Jack not being there when Optimus sacrificed himself was a cop-out. Jack not being some human!Prime was a copout.
The kids being essentially forgotten is such a copout. They helped save Cybertron. There would be no new Cybertron without Jack, Miko, and Raf. I feel like their reward for that is to be forgotten.
Anyway i make myself feel better by telling myself Optimus ordered them all to go no contact, because he feels guilty about uprooting their childhood. He feels guilty about the injuries they’ve gotten and the things they’ve experienced, and how they’ve had brushes with death that no child should have. That would have been a better explanation aside from them just disappearing.

Arcee asks Miko if she's okay and being at Wheeljack for putting Miko in danger. And in the next episode, Arcee tells Miko that she understands her and tells her about Cliffjumper.
Once again, these scenes show that Arcee maybe a tough and serious warrior, but she's also a kind and gentle person.
I really love the scenes between Arcee and Miko since they don't really interact much in the show.

Was explaining to a friend how socially inept optimus is in tfp which devolved into a 20 minute long tedtalk where I just kept providing examples of megatron trying to engage in any semblance of banter while battling optimus and optimus’ only response is to frown bigger. He just keeps looking more and more intense until someone else comes in to relieve the social tension. Some may call it romantic/sexual tension between exes but in actuality optimus —“do you want to see something funny” “no”— prime is just incapable of holding any conversation and leaves megatron to flounder in this conversational void, turning every sentence said into an increasingly pathetic monologue. Megatron seems obsessed with optimus because he’ll say something insulting or set bait to goad optimus into a response but instead optimus just stares and frowns. And if there’s one thing megatron refuses to do it’s backtrack so he’ll just keep digging. The only time megatron is freed from this prison is when ratchet is there to insult him back but because megatron’s focus starts on optimus it just ends up turning into megatron and ratchet arguing over optimus’ honour while he’s off to the side pummelling whatever vehicon/corpse/seeker megatron has set on him, or is falling off a cliff because his legs are too long and in however many millennia it’s been he still can’t get used to the robot puberty the matrix put him through

Okay but imagine: Netflix makes a deal with Hasbro again to create two Transformers shows set in the Aligned Continuity that ignores RID 2015 with the first one being called Transformers NEST, centering on an adult Miko Nakadai who becomes a member of NEST which is an alliance of humans and Decepticons who have defected as they face off against Shockwave , Tarn or Overlord and the other show is called Transformers: Lost Light which is a loose adaptation of the comic focusing on Hot Rod, Smokescreen, Ultra Magnus, Arcee, Bulkhead, etc as they must find the Knights Of Cybertron.
Nghhhh, I need this. I would have loved to see a TFP sequel with kids as adults in their careers with the background of an Earth-Cybertron relationship.
I think NEST would be under the UN since it would be an international and interplanetary alliance. It would be interesting to see how it would do public opinion on aliens and the alliance.
Miko would definitely still have the Apex Armor. Ohhh, to be a fly on that wall when that was brought up.
The Return of Soundwave from the Shadowzone. Under key and working with others in the NEST, begrudgingly.
Soundwave and Miko friendship. Soundwave and Miko friendship!!
“Hey, I kicked your ass once!” < ? -cue Raf’s face- >
It would be a nice stage to buildup the cultural events/mores from Cybertron and how it was shaped under Autobot and Decepticon fractions.
I think Tarn or Overlord would be the best bet with the antagonist: one is a zealot of the Decepticon cause with his own band of psychotic killers that hunt down traitors and the other is a beyond sadistic Phase Sixer, both have a Raging Boner for Megatron, but the Big Bad: Quintessons
And the tensions with Autobots, Decepticons, Neutrals, and the overlaps between them would be chef’s kiss
The Transformers: Lost Light adaptation would either be amazing or fall flat on its execution. But, mannnnnn, the sheer ton of lore it could encompass! And I say fall flat because the MTMTE/IDW had a lot of things. Not just social-political issues, class warfare, psychological issues and the impact of war for multiple generations, and ideolgical conflict but it spanned for years, so it’s a lot to condense down.
TFP had some nice foundation but it pulled back on what was brewing within the Golden Age and the Fall of Cybertron. Implications and some side commentary but nothing in the viewer’s face.

the truck pt. 1
warnings: none
word count: 675
summary: Miko Nakadai
what's one more?
It was closer to three in the morning than Miko was comfortable with to be out in this part of town but she didn’t have the option to go anywhere else. She couldn’t go back to her parents in Tokyo, they had all but disowned her when she presented the signed forms of her international transfer. And her hosts had all but packed her bags for her.
She had nothing but her guitar, her duffel, and four hundred US dollars to her name.
It had taken her almost two hours to get to the edge of town on foot, nothing around her but rundown buildings and trash near the half destroyed bus stop. Tears burned her eyes as she dropped her duffel, sitting on it near the edge of the curb.
Her visa was up in less than a month and she has no one else to call to help her. No one that could help her. No friends, no family, the government worked too slowly to provide anything for her to use.
Miko shivered as the wind blew through the buildings around her, whispering in the cold dark. “It’s fine,” she mumbled to herself in an effort to stop the growing fear. “It’ll be fine, you’ve had worse.”
There was nothing but the silence beyond the wind and it ate at her. Silence gave her time to think.
“I want to go home,” she whispered as she curled her knees up to her chest. Miko buried her face in her arms as she lost the fight against the tears.
Time passed strangely to Miko for a while, until she felt like she could face the world again. After wiping her eyes and nose she looked up.
Then screamed profanity and threw herself backwards, toppling off of her duffel and crashing onto the cracked concrete.
A massive semi was parked directly in front of her, so close she could see her warped reflection in the chrome around the edges. She lay sprawled out on her elbows, gaping, as her mind caught up with the sight in front of her.
“What-how-,” Miko scrambled upright, fear flashing through her about the horror stories her parents told her about what happens to little foreign girls in America before a different thought came through.
It was something she had heard from some of the kids at school, a little Hispanic boy with wild hair and thick-rimmed glasses and a teen with raven dark hair. They were the only ones to talk to her like she was a person and not gawk at her like she was a monkey at the zoo. They had told her about a local legend they called The Truck that only the kids knew about.
About how he protected the kids in Jasper.
About how kids with bad home lives suddenly disappear for a few days, then turning back up with smiles and new clothes and packed lunches and restraining orders against their former families that the kids themselves enforce with tasers.
Jasper, Nevada didn’t have a single homeless person under twenty-five.
Because The Truck took them home.
At least, that’s what the kids here believed. Miko always thought it was just something that they told themselves to keep this dead city interesting.
But with this huge long hauler semi truck sitting quietly in front of her Miko started to believe.
“What the fuck,” she breathed, feeling frozen to the spot.
“Are you in need of aid, youngling?” A deep voice asked. It came from the truck.
Miko blinked. “What?”
“Do you require assistance?”
He sounded like a walking dictionary, but…
It had been so long since someone had asked that genuinely. Miko had to blink a few times to keep herself from crying again, staring at the huge tires less than a foot from her. Once she had herself under control she glanced up to the driver to answer.
A gasp ripped from her throat and she took a step back, stumbling over her duffel and hitting the ground again.
There was no driver.
