Lux looked to the man and blinked before giggling and shaking her head, she assumed she must look very young for him to ask, she wasnt offended by any means it just made her chuckle.

“I’m actually 21, so its more then alright. Ill just have to inform my brother and a few of the other guards and members of the crownguard family that ill be taking a break from my book work in the archives but it should be no problem at all sir.”

She informed him and looked down to the little dragon moving about the floor.

After lux had set the dragon down and watched what it would do next, she heard the man speak up and she froze before turning to him and blinking.

“Y..you think i could be your assistant..? Oh my.. that sounds wonderful..! Of course sir, i would love to learn from you about these magical creatures!”

She said excitedly and gave him a bright and warm smile.

Her enthusiasm was borderline infectious, and Anden had to stop himself from grinning like a fool. “I’ve very glad to hear that, Miss Crownguard. Sadly we’ll need to make preparations first, and you’ll need to study up on the subject of dragons.” He paused. “If I may, how old are you, Miss Crownguard?” Anden knew it was rude to ask a woman her age, but depending on the answer, he may have to get her family’s permission…

While the adults chattered on, Opal continued to roam about, inspecting Anden’s laboratory. The baby dragon sadly didn’t find too much of interest that could inspect on the ground, though, so instead started to make its way into the back.

After lux had set the dragon down and watched what it would do next, she heard the man speak up and she froze before turning to him and blinking.

“Y..you think i could be your assistant..? Oh my.. that sounds wonderful..! Of course sir, i would love to learn from you about these magical creatures!”

She said excitedly and gave him a bright and warm smile.

Lux held the little creature carefully and smiled as it seemed to enjoy being lifted and closer to the birds.

Once the man entered again she turned and smiled to him warmly.

“Of course not, I’m being very careful, Opal just wanted a closer look at the birds.”

She explained before petting the dragons head and putting it back down onto the ground carefully.

Anden sighed a little as she placed the hatchling back on the ground. The girl seemed surprisingly capable, but her lack of knowledge about dragons could be problematic if she was to keep assisting him… And given Opal’s affection to her, that may be for the best.

“Miss Crownguard, what you you say to a more permanent position here, as my assistant? I think you may just have what it takes to enter the field of dracology, though I will warn you now: it can be dangerous work.”

Lux held the little creature carefully and smiled as it seemed to enjoy being lifted and closer to the birds.

Lux heard the chirping and looked to Opals reaction and watched the little one try to fly, she giggled at how cute it was and she carefully pucked the dragon up as it flapped its wings and she pretended to help it fly near the window to see the birds.

“Here you go little one, see, birds. They chirp and fly and come in all different colors. Sort of like you little one.”

Opal was a little surprised to be lifted up at first, but quickly seemed to take to the elevated position. Its eyes remained fixated on the strange creatures outside the window. Though still not understanding most of human speech, it did seem to understand that these odd things were called ‘birds.’ They looked tasty… But they were too far away to eat. Besides, Opal had just eaten, so it was satisfied for now…

Moments later, Anden returned. “Ah, Miss Crownguard, before I forget…” He paused in surprise to see her casually lifting the hatchling up. “D-Do be careful not to drop it, Miss Crownguard!”

Opal looked up at its perceived mother figure. It didn’t know what she was saying, but there seemed to be something on her mind. Suddenly, the sound of birds chirping caught Opal’s attention. The young dragon let out another little cry as it tried to flap its tiny wings, but of course it wasn’t mature enough to fly yet. Still, the hatchling seemed to want to see what the source of the noise was.

Lux looked to the man and blinked at the horn he handed to her and she frowned lightly and nodded before standing up and putting it down on the table.

“Well- if it gets to be like that then ill use it thank you. But for now i don’t thing it will be needed i think now that Opal ate it will be mellow. Ill just observe it for the time being.”

She smiled and leaned back down to the dragon and saw its displeasure for the horn and she nodded agreeing with her self that she wouldnt like to use it.

Anden could see her reluctance, but said nothing more on the matter. “Then I leave the matter to you, Miss Crownguard. Please just be careful.” With that, Anden went to go and figure out the bedding situation. He had a makeshift nest of sorts for dragon hatchlings to sleep in that he altered depending on the breed. Normal dragons didn’t require much, but of course, this hardly seemed like a normal dragon.

Opal watched Lux put the horn down, then looked to Lux. It chirped curiously and tilted its head before looking around the environment. It seemed Opal was finally getting curious about its birthplace.

Lux frowned and shook her head and put the pouch in the others hand.

“I know it was paid for but this is a tip, you deserve it.”

She said in response and as the other teased her then gave a bow Lux shook her head and smiled.

“No need for all that friend, I’m not fully sure.. i was just lost in thought and wondered here i suppose. Hehe happens most often..”

She admitted and rubbed a finger across her cheek slightly in a soft scratch like manor

Wandering the streets of Demacia, Lux would be surprised by a sudden tap on her shoulder. "Hi, Luxanna Crownguard?" Gwen asked, holding a bag over one arm. "I have an order for you." @ask-the-seamstress

Lux was walking down the streets of her home like any other normal day, which meant she was wondering aimlessly and usually zoning out, feeling the light tap on her shoulder and her name being called she gasped being brought back to reality and turning suddenly, her blonde hair flowing easily as she turned and her blue eyes sparkling in the sun as she looked to the female before her.

“O-oh! Excuse me i was.. lost in thought heh.. order? For me? Oh of course. I wonder what it could be… do you mind telling me whom its from?”

“Oh yes i ordered this a few weeks ago no wonder i have forgotten, sorry about that. Thank you so much for taking my order, i can not wait to try this when i get back home”

She told the other and pulled out a gold pouch and offered it to the other.

“Here please take this for your trouble, I’m sure finding me was not the easiest of tasks. I wonder often”

Lux took the final piece of meat from him and fed it to the dragon and watched it happily before turning to him and listening to him talk of how she could continue to help and also how he had to make adjustments to the dragons sleeping quarters.

“O-oh well yes of course but i.. what do i do if it.. starts to act up..?”

She asked a little worried to be left alone and not having any prior knowledge on how to take care of a creature such as this made her a bit.. nervous to say the least.

While it was unlikely the hatchling would cause too much trouble on its first day, Anden had to concede that her concern was valid. After-all, this was an unknown breed, so he had yet to determine what it was truly capable of. “If the speci- I mean, if Opal causes any trouble, just blow into this.” Anden took a small horn with a peculiar design from the wall and handed it to Lux.

“This emits a sound that tends dragons find unpleasant. While it typically serves to rile older dragons up, younger ones can be incapacitated by the noise for a brief time. No permanent harm, I assure you, just a means of keeping the newborns in check.”

Opal regarded the horn suspiciously. It didn’t know what the humans were saying, but it clearly seemed to instinctively distrust the horn.

Goodness, to thank that she would take so quickly to this hatchling! Still, the hatchling seemed to take to her, so having her continued aid wouldn’t be a bad thing. “I suppose if your family is alright with it, I would certainly appreciate your continued support, Miss Crownguard.” He handed her one final piece of meat to feed the pup. “Speaking of sleeping chambers, though, I might need to make some small adjustments to the artificial nest…”

Anden stroked his beard and watched Opal closely as it ate. “Hmm… Can I ask you to watch it for a time, Miss Crownguard? I’d best get started on those adjustments now.”

Opal still didn’t seem to really understand, but let out another satisfied chirp when more meat was offered. Of course it readily chowed down on the food it was given, which only served to further solidify Lux as a maternal figure in its mind. Of course, there was one small problem…

“Ah, Miss Crownguard… I’m afraid I can’t allow you to take the speci- Opal out of my laboratory. I’m sure you can imagine the uproar a loose dragon could cause, not to mention the displeasure of the dragonguard…”

“Well you never know until you try.”

She said and as it chirped she giggled and handed the little creature the meat, once it got hold of it she pet its head kindly.

“Hmm… well i know its not a dog but maybe it can respond to names? Its scales shimmer like jewels.. opal..? Do you like that little one?”

She asked and wondered if it understood her at all.

The hatchling eagerly began chowing down on the meat, swallowing the whole thing in one go. It chirped in delight, only to open its maw wide for another piece. It was still hungry. Furthermore, it didn’t quite seem to understand words, but it could most certainly be taught to.

“Naming the beast? Hmm… I suppose that’s plausible. As I understand it, dragons often have their own names in their own language, but given that this one was abandoned, I see no harm in it.” He handed Lux another piece of meat to the feed the hatchling.

Anden stared at her a moment, repressing the urge to laugh. Even still, Lux would probably hear him snort a little. “I’m afraid dragons and dogs are QUITE different, Miss Crownguard. Besides, even a dog needs to be trained, doesn’t it?”

Sure enough, the hatchling merely tilted its head, eyeing the meat. The best Lux would get was a small chirp, as though declaring that it was hungry again.
