If Pomni being friends with Jax and ending up having a bit of a mean/wild streak ends up driving a wedge between her and the rest of the circus members where they don’t like or trust her anymore I’m going to be devastated 💔

I don’t know how to feel about this episode based on the trailer alone, why is Pomni so trigger-happy and why do I feel like a massive fallout is about to occur after it airs 😭

Also what happened to the white room adventure from the SDCC panel because I cannot for the life of me figure out how it’s going to slot itself into this, we do have over thirty minutes of runtime this time so maybe it will but I’m so confused

No like why am I seeing threads on how Pomni was stupid and annoying in episode 5 for supposedly taking Jax’s side and being a hypocrite by “taking back” the advice she gave Ragatha minutes after giving it to her, because if you honestly believe that I think you weren’t paying enough attention. In truth Pomni really did not do anything wrong in this episode, maybe I sound like too much of an apologist but I’ve gotten tired of people interpreting her in such bad faith all of a sudden.

Pomni wasn’t trying to be a hypocrite by telling Ragatha she should let herself be a jerk sometimes but then immediately backpedaling and saying that maybe Ragatha should calm down when she snapped at Jax minutes later, nor was she taking Jax’s side by doing so. You need to remember the argument Jax and Ragatha were having was about Pomni, putting her in the middle and drawing assumptions about her while ignoring her when she attempted to intercept and say that she’s capable of thinking for herself. She was put in an uncomfortable position and rationally tried to diffuse the situation quickly, plus she also recognized that there is a time and a place for “acting like a jerk” and this wasn’t it. I really do not think you can fault her for trying to swiftly but gently put an end to a fight that shouldn’t have involved her to that degree.

Another thing is that I think Pomni was being sincere when she gave Ragatha a second chance in the game by letting her take her turn at bat—not because she wanted to get Ragatha away from her or just wanted to talk to Jax more. She was there to witness how upset Ragatha got at messing up on her turn and seemed to glean how much it bothered her, and this might have been her way of both expressing she had accepted Ragatha’s apology and also making up herself for backtracking on her own advice. Also, consider this: If Pomni had gone to bat, that would have left Jax and Ragatha alone in the dugout, and maybe she was trying to keep them separated so they wouldn’t light into each other again in her absence. Maybe I’m wrong on that, but I really don’t get why so many people are assuming Pomni wasn’t sincere in extending that olive branch just because she happened to be talking to Jax while everyone else had gone to congratulate Ragatha—I do not think that’s indicative at all of Pomni not caring. I think people interpreted it that way though because that’s how Ragatha seemed to view the situation, because she tends to catastrophize every negative social interaction she has with Pomni and assumed this was her picking Jax over her because she feared she’d inadvertently driven Pomni away.

(Please note that this is not an open invitation to start bashing Ragatha for anything she did in a “yeah, Ragatha was a bad person here” way—her feelings are understandable in this situation, because she’s watching the woman she sincerely hoped she could make a connection with getting along with the man who is constantly antagonizing her in a way that may or may not remind her of her own abusive mother. But it’s also true that Pomni doesn’t owe her friendship to any specific individual and isn’t choosing one side over the other—she didn’t betray Ragatha by getting closer to Jax and it doesn’t make her a bad person just because Jax is the circus’s resident jackass, and that needs to be understood.)

I don’t know. This has been on my mind for a while already but I just got irritated by some things I was reading today. Pomni very clearly cares about Ragatha and does not dislike her, but Ragatha needs to learn to be more open with Pomni and not assume that she’s not reasonable enough to not let herself be negatively influenced by Jax when she’s stressed many times that she’s her own person and not an impressionable child. Pomni is not perfect, but she is still smart and empathetic and seems to be trying her best to be there for everyone around her—something a lot of people seem to be doubting now that she’s befriended the “wrong” person.
