Mixed feelings on Roundsey, and not for the reason that I imagine a few folks will be (I’ve always supported bringing back retired things in some way/shape/form and in principle the raffle format is a good way to do it).

This is probably more of a me problem than anything, but I've never liked when official site raffles let you buy unlimited tickets. It really takes the balance away from ‘oh, there’s a chance that anyone could win this’ and yeah, they can, rng is a fickle mistress, but unlimited ticketing pretty heavily stacks it in favor of the old guard that already have everything. I’m a part of that older group and I still don’t care for it.

But until it releases, I’ll be over here fervently holding my breath and hoping that nothing goes horribly wrong :B

Seeing all these new permababy threads has got me thinking, what if a baby imperial died and became like. One with it’s parent in an emperor. Could you imagine being stuck with a young, annoying baby imperial that never shuts up? Constantly yapping or screaming.

I mean? I guess it depends on the situation? Are you pinging them completely out of the blue? Then they might not really appreciate that kind of thing. Also, what are you asking about? Are you asking for some kind of service? Then I definitely understand why they might ignore you. Perhaps try PM-ing them? Instead some kind of public forum call out they didn't sign up for.

When someone pings you with a question or a request, and that question or request is perfectly reasonable, PLEASE RESPOND. No one seems to realize how frustrating and rude it can seem when you’re active enough to feed your dragons, but completely ignore pings. What excuse do you have? Seriously, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is type “okay” or “no thanks” and that would PERFECTLY SUFFICE. You can’t just leave people wondering like that.

art contest suggestions

Hey, if you want to enter an art contest, the ones where OP either states they’ll use your art even if you don’t win (like wow that already says a lot) or they don’t specify if they will/won’t: watermark the absolute hell out of it while still making most of the art viewable. Cover your final product with extremely visible text that basically states “you can’t use this for free” without literally saying it and tell the person running the contest that they can only have the unwatermarked version if you get compensated for your work. If they try to debate it, then they are an IMMENSELY shitty person and it would give them away right then and there. Plus, they don’t get to use your art anyway, it’d be art theft without your explicit permission. A good watermark might be “Art By (user) / Contest Entry For (OP) / Do Not Use Without Permission” or something to that effect. Another suggestion: save that art in layers if you’re doing digital and are able to. Set up a base body, then overlay the accents and apparel in different folders over it. Layer clipping and masking will be your best friends too. USE!!! LAYERS!!! FOR!!! EVERYTHING!!! If your contest work doesn’t win or get paid for then refurbish that piece into a different dragon. Your original coloring and the added apparel will most likely be wasted but better that than the ENTIRE thing. Don’t let yourself and your hard work be used like that by shitty, lazy, cheap ass people. And for the shitty, lazy, cheap ass people who think it’s totally fine to use and abuse an artist’s work like that and get upset when they can’t score free art? Fuck your contest, fuck your prizes, and most important of all: fuck you.

Hey guys, Has it occurred to you that some people have to deal with this same issue during every single festival that begins at its usual time? Rollover for me is normally 2am. I work in the morning so I miss a good chunk of the first day every single week. Every Art for fodder that I might want to partake in fills up before I’m even conscious on the first day and you want to belly-ache about the one time you might have to deal with the same shit some of us have been putting up with for years? Suck it up. You’ll go back to having your run of the festivals soon enough and I’ve heard enough of all your bitching.

the gross people with fae icons post gave me an idea so heres 100% how YOU act depending on the dragon you have!:

Imperials: frequents suggestion fourms and help fourms, probably has a ‘please don’t ping me’ as their sig. Theyre either really nice or 34 years old and frustrated that children keep on pinging them for online arguments.

Ridgeback: Dom leaders. definately always in lightning flight, theyre rare and theyre also probably gay (Especially if its a female ridgeback). 

Guardians: m'lady. always talks with correct grammar, probably writes lore about how their dragons have been through so much pain but have always come out on top due to the power of friendship. wants everyone to read their lore but their lore kind of sucks.

Snappers: Middle aged mothers OR skin makers (they like to use the snappers bodacious body as a romping ground for their artistic deeds.)

Bogsneaks: perfect people who cant do anything wrong and make good lists on dramarising dot com. theyre also into vore and make rants about how pretty dragons suck.

coatls: aesethtic hoe. has a hatchery where the main pairs are either coatls or wildclaws. brags a lot about their expensive dragons and then cries a lot when no one cares

wildclaws: warrior cat roleplayers in disguise. get really angry with people when they say anything bad about the mods. inflated sense of self importance

Nocturnes: adamantly fights any suggestion about retiring night of the nocturne/just S from the suggestion. 

Skydancer: fan dragon owners who go on prettiest dragon above you threads and get secretly pissy when people dont pick their skydancers.

Pearlcatcher: always. has. a. basic. bitch. light. lair. also they have a nsfw blog where they make fr porn

Spiral: 12 year old child

mirror: roleplayers who dont know when to stop roleplaying

Tundras: no use talking about these assholes because people with tundra icons never go on drama rising

Did the eye outrage just drown out the dragonsearch outrage, or am I the only one still batshit furious over the whole sneaky ‘no more two-value searches’ thing?

DS is already a pain in the ass to begin with because you have to search so many times if you’re willing to accept multiple colors or genes, and we’ve been begging for a fix for years. Instead staff turns around and makes the process take twice as long because you have to run each individual search for males and females.

If a single additional factor makes searches that much less of a database drain, enough to compensate for a second search being done immediately thereafter, an acknowledgement to the userbase would at least have been nice, but at this point I’m more inclined to believe they WANT dragonsearch to be as much of a hassle as possible in hopes people will use it less often.

In which case, well fucking played, I guess.

(And here’s the obligatory PSA: Y'all, PLEASE list your fodder on the AH until it grows up, no matter how ugly you think it is. You never know when you hatched a combo that’s just close enough to what someone was looking for that they’d pay you well above floor price for it, if only they knew it existed.)

WHAT IS HAPPENING

Okay, so I’m a pretty inactive member of the Water flight and just recently decided to hop in Water’s LGBT forum to try to make some friends. This person, we’ll call them PE, introduced himself and whatnot.

Okay, no hate but, I’m wondering but WTF is a ladyboy. I feel weird asking him but I can’t find anything about it online besides it being a slur against trans women, but he said he’s a trans man…. ????????

Anyways, he asked the original creator of the thread, E, who has some pride graphics, to make a poly one in the part I cut out. E did so and was pretty nice about it, but included this little message…

To which PE responded pretty angrily.

This is some pretty intense drama, so I got curious and checked out PE’s profile. Mainly to try finding out wtf a ladyboy is. But I found this, and uh, that’s… interesting.

Is this shit real??? I mean personally I agree that you should be able to identify as whatever you want, but holy hell, that’s one way to instantly destroy any credibility you might’ve had.
