Using software that you’re legally allowed to use because you have a license (or it’s free) is such a trip like. You go onto the actual trusted website. You give them your real email address not the one you use for creating accounts on dodgy websites. You click download. It isn’t a free trial or a version with ads it’s the full version. No viruses. truly crazy stuff

fun fact about languages: a linguist who was studying aboriginal languages of Australia finally managed to track down a native speaker of the Mbabaram language in the 60s for his research. they talked a bit and he started by asking for the Mbabaram word for basic nouns. They went back and forth before he asked for the word for “dog” The man replied “dog” They had a bit of a “who’s on first” moment before realizing that, by complete coincidence, Mbabaram and English both have the exact same word for dog.
#HOWEVER#the English word dog has no etymology as far as I know#so maybe somehow we got it from them#this is my theory

my brain’s solution to “I am holding a phone in one hand and two eggs in the other but I need to pick up more things” is “drop the eggs on the ground that way you have one hand free”
(I didn’t drop the eggs because my other braincell told me not to but. why is that my instinct)

love it when sunlight spills through every window all at once and gilds all the rooms in honey and a house feels a little more like a home and childhood wasn’t so far back after all

There is no "after the revolution." No "ideal world." I don't care how much progress we make, we will always fail someone, hurt someone, and the best thing we can do is accept that, and keep striving to make it better as we go.
And don't get me wrong, I don't say this to discourage anyone from trying to make that ideal world. Quite the opposite.
I feel like it's very naive to continue to approach these big changes we want to make in the world as if there's an "after it's all over" when we don't have to worry about it anymore.
We should always be striving to make life better, even when life seems pretty damn good.
