⟲ Living Letters: A Hollerin Space& IF i am to holler, bathe me in living letters /// requiem for the road ∆ when it git L I T -------feel me?
LIVING LETTERS ➤ A Hollerin Space
Writing letters is a powerful tool for liberation. It has served our ancestors as a mark of freedom, identification, a protest, an admission of love, and for maintaining tangible bonds with each other in times of movement, war, and displacement.
At 19th Annual Allied Media Conference we will build on the idea of listening/bearing witness as technology as we transform and heal ourselves.
In the formation of a waiting room, participants will access tools of letter writing, QR codes, and live mixing to enact the art of listening, depositing, and witnessing.
Join us Saturday, June 17 from 4:00 - 5:30pm EDT

Quote
“The Black Community spends most of its time trying “to make a living” in a society labeled “for whites only”. Therefore, the central question is “How are we going to survive in a world which deems black humanity an illegitimate form of human existence?” That white America has issued a death warrant for being black is white brutality inflicted on black persons. By white definitions, whiteness is “being” and blackness is “nonbeings.” Blacks live under sentence of death. They know that whites will kill them rather than permit the beauty and glory of black humanity to be manifested in its fullness. To breathe in white society is dependent on saying yes to whiteness, and blacks know it. Black survival is at stake here, and we blacks must define and assert the conditions necessary for our being-in-the-world.”

i’m like the midwife coaching you to push for birthing
youtube
“This beautiful film is the story of “Miss Mary” Coley an African-American midwife more than half a century ago in rural Georgia. Conceived as a demonstration film for “granny” midwives its production sponsored by the Georgia Department of Public Health All My Babies quickly transcended its initial purpose. It was used around the world by UNESCO and has become an enduring classic of non-fiction film.
ALL MY BABIES was written produced and directed by George C. Stoney in close collaboration with Mrs. Coley as well as with local public health doctors and nurses and shows the preparation for and home delivery of healthy babies in both relatively good and bad rural conditions among black families at that time.
The film is in addition both a deeply respectful portrait of “Miss Mary” who is revealed as an inspiring human being and a record of the actual living conditions of her patients.
Selected in 2002 by the Librarian of Congress as a “‘culturally historically and artistically significant work’” for permanent preservation in the National Film Registry.“

the Hollerin Space is where the work of life and art become one. #MIGRATING elixirs brewing bodies of sound + color whatever time of day, the experience brings wisdom for the road. A space where truth is seen but is not shattering to the soul.
we are..Nomads. the Dream Reader and the Seed Keeper. the Dream Reader explores the inner vibrations of the human spirit and holds the dreams and narratives of Secret sharers. Casts spells through symbols, stained images and truths with fabrics of History and act as a guide through troubled valleys. Mother. Holds a reflecting looking glass. Threads lines of universal connections. the Seed Keeper studies the soil, compositions, minerals, and their environmental effects. Setting the tone for space that generates transporting. Inciting a readiness in us that calls on our DNA’s pastpresentfuture mind body spirit elements. Calling us to intuitive Change. Tuning us for safe transition as the midwife does. Collecting seeds from wherever They are. From conversations with folks, feeling the resonance of things around us, and using the technology to amplify and experiment sound + color. Reminding us of our electrical vibratory origins.
AXÉ is integral to the functioning of the works-in-process. Everyone everything makes their own AXÉ. Whether we are 2 in number or 20. Activation and gathering are shared acts happening continuously. Energetic shifting at its core, eternally transpiring. Knowledge building through shared stories and dreams.
