"I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge—even wisdom. Like art." +Toni Morrison

Guillame Caron - Magic Women
Artist, Guillaume Caron, reclaims the racial slur ‘coloured’ and replaces it with colourful, in this series of stunning portraits celebrating ‘African beauty’.
All of the works in the series are produced using mixed media, with tropical colours driftingfrom the faces and bodies of these gorgeous women as if their natural beauty and raw sensuality has put a spell on the artist.

Love Is King via Soulection
The 'Love Is King' compilation is a tribute to one of our favorite artists, Sade. The British, Nigerian singer, songwriter and composer has always had a timeless, nostalgic and chilled out sound. We've all grown up with her in the background as many of our parents raised us on Sade. Her style/songwriting just makes you feel at ease, comfortable and is familiar.

"What this new politics of digital self-representation suggests is that the most important transgression against privacy may not only be happening through the unwarranted watching, listening, and collecting of information by the state. What is also taking place through the interface of state and corporate modes of the mass collecting of personal information is the practice of normalizing surveillance by upping the pleasure quotient and enticements for young people and older consumers. These groups are now constantly urged to use the new digital technologies and social networks as a mode of entertainment and communication. Yet, they function largely to simulate false notions of community and to socialize young people into a regime of security and commodification in which their identities, values, and desires are inextricably tied to a culture of private addictions, self-help, and consuming."  +Henry A. Giroux

"There is nothing new in using women as a cultural battleground. Women have regularly been used symbolically to signify and reproduce nations, cultures and religions; and the norms and values that constitute these." + Sara Salem
