The biggest lesson I’m learning right now is that you can’t force someone to communicate with you and work things out. You can’t force someone to see your love is worth holding onto. They have to come to that realization themselves. If they want to run, let them run. It hurts like absolute hell. You’re going to want to shake them and say, “see how much I love you?” but you just can’t. If they’re supposed to be in your life, they’ll come back around once they’ve learned a few things. And by then, maybe you’ll have moved on, or maybe you’ll forgive them for ever being foolish enough to leave in the first place. But trust me, if they can’t recognize your worth from the jump? If they can’t stand in the radiance of all that you are without begging for shade? If they can’t appreciate you as you are, for all the good, bad and otherwise? Then they aren’t ready to love you the way you ought to be loved, and they don’t deserve a drop of your soul, because honey, you are home-sweet-home.
