The Peacekeeper Comic
It all began with the war: The US government vs. people with superpowers who didn’t ask for them. Meteorites had broken through the Earth’s atmosphere. They crashed into the United States, giving random citizens powers, and the people of the United States considered this populace an infected virus they must exterminate. At the same time, a group of meteor-powered humans is considering using their powers to take over the government and the world. These events set into motion the creation of a superhero group that plans to stop the war called “The Peacekeepers!”
Join the Peacekeepers on their journey with Katelynn, Gene, Bill, and Jett as they battle through many challenging obstacles: The President, demons, and even alien robots!

Please Cry, Primarina Official Prologue (Part 2)
(The second part to the prologue.)
One week later.
On a darker Friday than normal, Roger woke to the sound of his mother when she shook his bed. He looked at her groggily and at the alarm clock on his nightstand.
“5:00 A.M.”
Dark clouds hung low over the sky. It looked like it was on the verge of raining. The sun wasn’t even out yet.
Roger asked, “M...mom…?”
His mom told him, “Roger, I saw on the news there’s a heavy storm warning, so I’m letting you know that you can sleep in. You don’t have to go to school today.”
That was the happiest Roger felt in his life, a Friday with no school and a long weekend was like a dream come true. He replied, “Thanks Mom.” As he began to drift back to sleep.
The mother was about to exit the room but before she left she walked back up next to him and whispered to him, “Happy birthday, son,” as she kissed his cheek. Roger had a smile on his face and snuggled with the warm feeling.
The feeling didn’t last though because, after two hours, a bright flash of light beamed through the window. In the same instant the light was gone soon replaced by a deafening crashing noise that shook the entire house. Roger jolted upright in his bed. His heart beat a mile a minute.
He looked at the time. It read, “7:45,” just fifteen minutes before he usually had to wake up for school. He shook in his bed uncontrollably as he felt a fearful shiver go down his body. He needed to go down and tell his parents, he was scared of thunder.
He opened the door to his room and rushed down the stairs, but his curiosity got the better of him and instead of going to his parent’s room, he went towards the front door. He was tall enough to reach the door knob and turn it. The door unlocks and it suddenly nearly slams open. A strong wind blew into the house as he looked out at the railing and the water beyond.
Leaving the door open, He ran to the railing and looked out at the rough water. The water created huge waves that crashed into rock piles below. Tiny little water droplets could’ve been seen on the rail as the water from the sea could reach the railing.
There were huge rocks that were piled up behind the railing, peeking out from the water below. They must’ve been brought sometime earlier in history because they have been there since Roger could remember, and they didn’t appear to be a naturally created formation. The rock piles formed different platform levels that could be walked on.
The wind blows against his face with a force almost equivalent to that of a Pidove Gust attack. It was an incredible sight to see, the water crashing against the rocks, the dynamic motion of the waves. However, there was one thing a little off. On one of the rock platform was a poor, injured Pokémon. The Pokémon had the appearance of a blue and white seal with a little pink ball for a nose. It had numerous scratches and injuries all over its body. Roger’s heart beat twice a second when he looked at the Pokémon. He felt motivated that he had to do something to help, so he quickly climbed over the railing and cautiously moved down towards the Pokémon.
His parents heard the howl of the wind through the open door and they rushed out of it. Immediately, they saw Roger climbing over the railing onto the other side.
“Roger!” His parents snapped in anger. Heavy rain started to pour from the sky making the rocks incredibly slippery. Another huge wave was coming towards him as he picked the frail Pokémon up. He cradled it in his arms. He saw the huge wave coming towards him. His eyes widen as he panicked, yet he still remained confident he would get through this. He desperately climbed back up to the railing. He made sure to not slip or allow any more harm to come to the Pokémon. He used one hand to try and grab onto the railing to pull himself up, but he was too weak to get over and his other hand was carried the Pokémon, so he was left to dangle in front of the approaching wave. The wave grew larger and taller heading straight for him. He braced himself for the impact.
Roger’s father’s face turned from anger to panic. He rushed over to his son as fast as he could when he saw him trying to climb over the railing. He grabbed him by the shoulders and hoists him over the railing onto the other side. They see the ginormous wave loom towards them and his father shielded him by wrapping his arms around him and facing his back against the wall of water. His mother screamed in horror as the two were engulfed in the huge wave of water. She watched the wave roll back into the ocean. Roger and his father were laying on the ground. Their back on the supports of the railing. Both of them gasped for air. Roger coughs, “Dad!” He hugged his father with the Pokémon in his arms.
His mother sighed in relief and yelled, “Hurry! Get inside! This storm is planning on getting worse!” Roger and his father ran straight to the house and in through the door and closed the door behind them. The mother immediately followed with towels ready for them. Roger and his father dried themselves off.
His father said, “Roger, promise me you will never do that again! I can’t bear to lose you! What were you doing climbing that railing again!? I thought you grew out of that!”
Roger responded while he held the Pokémon up to him, “I was saving this Pokémon! It Looksc injured! I couldn’t leave it!” His father looked at the Pokémon in his arms.
“Son, I’m glad that you care for Pokémon, but don’t ever do anything reckless like that again.” His father demanded. “Now let’s see, what Pokémon have you got here?” The father looked at the injured seal Pokémon. “That’s strange. I’ve never seen a Pokémon like this before.”
Roger was confused, a Pokémon he’s never seen before? Could that mean there are new Pokémon to be seen?!, Roger was excited and couldn’t wait to start his journey.
“It looks to have fainted. Perhaps we should let it rest here while the storm passes.” The father observed.
“Yes, it looks like it was beat up by the sea. I’ll take care of it.” The mother agreed. Roger was still feeling excited that a new real Pokémon was actually in his home. He felt his heart beating as his breathing grew rapidly.
“Whoa calm down there sport, take deep breaths. I understand you’re excited. I’m excited too to see a new Pokémon, but it’s best if you be excited without overdoing it.” His father cautioned.
Roger took deep breaths and walked around the room along with the kitchen. The mother wrapped the Pokémon in a towel and put it in a makeshift comfy bed by using a blanket and pillow that they had. The Pokémon didn’t look to be fainted anymore but instead slept in his bed.
After another three and a half hours of waiting for the storm to pass, the Pokémon finally had woken up. Roger giggled gleefully at the Pokémon’s movement. The seal looked at the three unidentifiable humans with fear, but also with great curiosity. They weren’t laughing or insulting. They were just staring in amazement.
The Pokémon looked at the clean tall well-shaven man in a business suit. He was drenched in water making his professional look fade and a humorous look appear. He moved his eyes towards the tall, beautiful female with chocolate brown hair and a nightgown. She was smiling with warmth and comfort which made the Popplio feel like he was at home. Finally, the small boy who was at the same level of sight as him looked with wide eyes and with intense curiosity.
The Popplio flops toward the big boy and he hugs him with his flippers. He saw a same kind of personality behind Roger that was behind himself.
Roger gasped in excitement, A new Pokémon was touching him, hugging him!
Roger carefully picked up the Popplio in his arms and cradled him like a newborn child. The seal closes his eyes and began to hum a peaceful tune. It had been a long time since he was in the embrace of a loving caring human. He started to sing his name, “Popplio~.”
Roger and his parents gasped at the Pokémon’s cry. His father interpreted, “Oh! It’s a Popplio from what he said. So it’s safe to say it’s a Popplio.”
“Cool!” Roger exclaim, “Hello Popplio! My name is Roger! Can you say Roger?”
The father shook his head, “I’m sorry to say Roger, but Pokémon can only say their own name. There are Pokémon who speak telepathically but those are psychic types.”
The Popplio listened to the father’s response and he looked at Roger with pinning determination. “R….R….lio,” he spoke differently than how it usually spoke. His voice seeming to consist of ragged sounds trying to make out Roger’s name.
“Roger…, my name is Roger…” Roger repeated, like he was teaching a newborn how to speak. The mother and father watched with astonishment and excitement.
“R...ah…. jer…?” The Popplio sputtered.
Roger’s eyes beamed in excitement. He confirmed, “Yes! That’s right! Roger!”
“Rojer, Rogger, Rodger! Roger!” The Popplio repeated gleefully. The father was amazed. A Pokémon that said Roger’s name was as likely as winning the lottery. The seal barks out Roger’s name with more accuracy as he nuzzles his face on his.
Roger’s eyes gleamed with surprise, happiness, joy, and even feeling he didn’t know he had. He turns to his parents with the Pokémon in hands and asked, “c-can I keep him?”
The mother was quick to respond, “Of course you can, it is your birthday after all.” The father looked at her with a troubled look. She rephrased her response and said, “let’s give him a week, Ok Roger?”
Roger didn’t care, as long as he had the Pokémon in his warm grasp. “I love my Popplio!” He cries as the Pokémon cheered with him. The father still had a troubled look on his face for what would happen a week from now.
~~~~~
In the following week the Pokémon was under the ownership of Roger they formed a strong bond together. The Popplio was forced to stay at home while Roger went to school. He always waited for him to come home by barking his name through the neighborhood. His favorite activity was when he watched with Roger the sun and the sea when they looked over the railing. Roger had begun looking at the sun every morning of every day that week along with the Popplio. Friday was approaching fast and so would the winds of harsh change.
The Friday morning a week after the storm that brought the Popplio into Roger’s life has come. He woke up to the Popplio barking above him.
“Roger! Roger! Popplio!” During the week, the Popplio has learned to say Roger’s name on impulse as soon as he was in sight of him. Every time Roger heard it he would be filled with joy and inspiration for the day.
“Roger!” His mother called. “Time for breakfast!” Roger always knew what waited for him downstairs, a big plate of pancakes and syrup!
He bolts out of his room, forgot to get dressed, and runs down to expect the warm tasty pancakes. The Popplio followed curiously by bouncing after him.
Roger and the Popplio stopped at the bottom of the stairs hoping to expect the delicious smell of pancakes, but instead, his parents were looking at him with rather troubled looks. The mother’s face looked red as if she was previously crying.
This was unexpected to Roger. He had never seen them look like this.
The father broke the silence by announcing, “Son, I think it’s time now. We both have talked over this with much resistance, but we’ve agreed that it’s time to let the Popplio go.”
M Roger felt his heart suddenly sink. He looked at the confused Popplio and then back at his parents.
“What? No, no this can’t be true. You’re just joking to me because it’s Friday!” He chuckled with a little hold onto the Popplio. He nuzzled against him only reacting to Roger’s hug.
The mother sobbed, “I’m- I’m afraid it’s true. Your father is right.” She still had a few tears trickling down her cheek.
Roger held onto The Pokémon tighter, “No! I won’t let you take him!” He had started to tear up. Tears rapidly fell down his cheeks.
The father recommended, “no son, we’re not trainers anymore and neither are you. We ask that you simply return him back to the sea where it came from.” The father’s pain was obviously visible but he kept himself tough and assertive.
Roger suggested, “Please, I’ll become a trainer, be a wild Pokémon! Anything to stay with Popplio!” The Popplio responded with Roger’s name, “Roger?”
The mother replied, “Don’t be ridiculous Roger! You can’t consider being a Pokémon!”
The father agreed, “that’s right, nor can you become a trainer because Pokémon trainers have to be ten years old. You’re only six.” Roger couldn’t help himself as he runs back to his room with the Popplio. He slams the door behind him as he was crying up tears. The parents expected this from Roger, so they ended up letting him stay and miss a day of school.
Roger was on his bed crying onto the Popplio he held. He hoped that something, anything could prevent him from letting go the Pokémon. Even The popplio’s call, “Roger,” Didn’t cheer him up. It only made him cry even more. The tears soaked into the Pokémon’s skin, which made its skin shine a beautiful white color.
He looked back at the Popplio, tired and completely dried out of tears. He didn’t want to consider the action, but he had to choose to accept it. He returned downstairs after almost five hours of crying to confront his parents. He didn’t seem to show any emotion towards them.
“Mom, Dad, I’m ready…. I’ll go let him go…” he muttered. The Popplio in his arms seemed worried. Roger wasn’t acting his usual self. He opens the door, his face dark and distant from the Pokémon’s calls.
He walked out towards the railing and didn’t stop as he climbed over and slid down to land on one of the rocks two feet below. The water splashed on the edge where Roger stood. He sat the Popplio down in the water.
Popplio was constantly asking, “Roger? Roger? Roger?” It tried to get his attention as It tried to hold onto the edge of the rock to prevent from being pulled out to the ocean. Roger just looked with an incredibly sad expression. A lonesome tear slid down his face.
He said, “Goodbye… Popplio… I’ll miss you…” The poor Popplio was getting pulled back by the rushing water.
The seal desperately squealed, “Roger! Roger!” The current pulled the pokemon away from the rocks. It was too weak to fight against them. His head could be seen pop out of the water only to be pulled under by the strong currents. Roger officially bawled as his friend was gone from his sight. He yelled his final departing words out to the sea.
“I WILL FIND YOU!!! POPPLIO!!!” His eyes burst into a spray of tears looking out at the empty expansive sea.
“ROOOoooogggeeeeeerrrr……..,” Its very last words it said before it was gone. The heartbroken Pokémon’s voice rang in Roger’s ears for the next four years.
Please Cry, Primarina Official Prologue (Part 1)
(This story follows a young child and his past story with a Popplio. The entire story is of fiction. Any names related to real life, events, or stories are purely coincidental.)
Author’s note: I just want to thank everyone who helped encourage me to make this story. Thank you to all my friends!
Roger Taylor, a normal kid with a big dream, had no different goal than any of the other kids at his school. He wanted to follow his heart to become a Pokémon trainer. His father had been a long running champion around the world and told Roger all of his exciting stories. Roger, inspired by his father, developed a burning passion to follow his father’s legacy, but he was going to try harder so he could someday beat him. However, when Roger was 6 years old, he had an experience with a Pokémon that changed his life forever.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
His pale white skin shone, reflecting the morning sun as his dark brown hair pointed in several different directions. He got out of bed, got dressed in his Friday apparel, grabbed his school backpack, and went downstairs to eat breakfast. That was the usual start to his morning.
“Well son, you ready for another day of school?” His father asked proudly. Roger was still stuffing his face with pancakes his mother had made every Friday, which made Friday his favorite day of the week.
“Yeah! And I’ll beat you in a Pokémon battle someday!” Roger’s squeaky high voice challenged. Roger was currently five years old. He was going to be six in just a week.
His father chuckled and patted him on the head, “Well study and make good grades and we’ll see.” After Roger received his goodbye kiss from his mom and dad, he took off on his long walk to school.
Roger lived in a small town on the southeast border of Unova called Nuvema Town. His daily route to school consisted of walking past a sign in the middle of the town that read, “A town whose sea breezes give the sense of something coming.” Roger smiles whenever he sees it and keeps those words to heart hoping something was coming for him as he strolled past it. His small town didn’t have any roads that cars travel on. They instead had paths people walked from town to town on called routes.
However, every Friday before school on Roger’s walk he would proceed to head towards a metal railing on the southernmost part of his hometown. The railing was three feet tall, so it was the same height as Roger at the time, with support beams completely covering its base so that nobody could squeeze through between them. However, this railing had one flaw; Roger was able to easily climb over it.
The reason Roger went to look at this railing was because on the other side of the railing was a huge, wide-open sea that stretched way past the horizon. When Roger usually came before school and looked out, the sun loomed peacefully over the water as a beautiful sunrise. Its light shone like a glistening diamond, lifting Roger’s spirits whenever he looks at it on the water. The water looked just the same on that day like every other day. Although, He felt that past the horizon was a world waiting for him. A world where Roger could find a friend.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Meanwhile, on an isolated island far away from the Unova region, A small little seal Pokémon, formerly called a Popplio, danced with unwavering passion. The Pokémon imagined he was in front of an audience with a single spotlight shining on him. He finishes the dance expecting a standing ovation only to be met with teenaged boos and insults.
The Popplio was returned to reality as his surroundings were that of a dirty messy warehouse. The Pokémon was inside a small fishbowl the size of a human head that could barely fit the seal inside. The audience around the tank was a crowd of rough and tough grunt teens wearing strange skull bandanas across their mouths. A few dozen of them had their attention on the seal while others were either on a TV with a controller or they were boasting themselves with shiny apparel and strange boxes.
“Look at this thing dance so stupidly! Haha!” One of the grunts yelled unintelligibly. The Pokémon was so emotionally hurt that it backs into the corner of the small fishbowl it was put in, But, since it couldn't literally move around, it tried to make itself smaller by laying down. It however didn't hide the Pokémon from the dozens of glaring eyes.
“Hey boss, where did you get this Pokémon?!” The Admin with more clothes and different outfit asked an older male with huge muscles and a black bandana over his forehead. He looked to be the boss of the grunts.
The boss responded with a deep, rough voice, “I took the Popplio from a puny kid trainer, very easy pickings!” He smoked a cigar in his mouth and adjusted his sunglasses. He wore an all black sleeveless tee with a golden skull chain necklace around his neck. He was accompanied by a large Luxray over half the boss’s size. The Luxray bore a scar on his left eye and a piece of his star tail chipped off.
The Popplio remembered the trainer with devastating regret. He was utterly defeated by the Luxray with just a single electric attack. He didn’t get enough time to bond, let alone remember his trainer’s name. All he remembered was that he blacked out after just a single attack. He covered his face with his flippers to try and hide his tears. He begun to get laughed at from every direction from the group of grunts. They found enjoyment in others misery. Such terrible humans.
“Now pack it up! We’re gonna take it to Guzma! He should find this really useful!” The boss commanded. It was followed by many of the grunts disapproval.
“Aww, can’t we let him stay here? He’s a great comedy act for us!” One of the grunts complained. His Luxray made a commanding “Ray!” toward the Admin his trainer spoke to. The Luxray’s fur sparked, which caused the other grunts to shut up. His right hand grunt walked through the crowd and picked up the bowl the small Popplio was in.
The other grunts showed no more interest in the seal as the admin followed the boss and Luxray to a huge pickup truck where he put the bowl in the back. The Luxray got in the back of the truck bed and looked down at the tiny seal with an evil hungry grin. Popplio shivered looking at the Luxray. He was frightened at the terrifying thought of being cat food.
The boss yelled, “Lou! Don’t even think of eating that Pokémon! It’s our ticket to wealth and power! Keep your paw on its lid to keep it from jumping out!” The Luxray rolled his eyes and covered the top of the bowl with his left paw like his trainer instructed.
“Good Lou.” He replied and got into the pickup’s driver seat. Lou purred at the praise from his trainer and kept a firm hold down on the popplio’s bowl. The Boss instructed the Admin, “Come along Jerm, there’s no such thing as not being too cautious. This is an important delivery and I don’t want anything to mess this up.”
The Admin agreed immediately, “Yes sir!,” and he got in the passenger seat as they drove off. The poor Popplio lays down taking short breaths. The truck moved alongside a cliffside dirt road shaking and bumping the Luxray and the Team skull members around.
The Popplio took a look around at his surroundings. He saw the fluffy black paw of the Luxray pressing down on the lid of the bowl. He noticed the bowl started to slightly crack from the pressure. He slightly smiled as he started to fill the bowl with water using a weak water gun.
The two Team Skull members in the front seats listened to rap music and they were too busy to notice the Luxray have trouble keep his paw on the lid of the bowl. Water sprayed through the Luxray’s paws as the bowl began to crack more and more.
That was when the truck hit an unexpectedly large rock in the road and the Luxray’s paw slipped off of the lid right when the bowl exploded, but before it exploded the Popplio shot up into the air from the great pressure of water that spewed straight over the cliff.
The Luxray looked at the Popplio surprised and growled. The little seal snack was too far out of reach to catch, so with his last ditch effort, Lou used Discharge to shock everything nearby, including the Truck. The discharge cut the fuse of the truck and caused the truck to come to an immediately halt. It also reached the Popplio, sending a powerful shock through his body as he was soaring through the air.
Luxray saw the Popplio faint in the air but he was still out of reach as the Pokémon fell down the side of the cliff. The boss and the admin busted out of the pickup and bolted to the back to see an injured Luxray with a crushed glass bowl underneath its paw.
“Lou! What’s the meaning of that Discharge?!” Luxray’s trainer asked in an outraged panic. “And where is the Popplio?! Did you eat it?!”
The Luxray panicked trying to explain but just pointed at the cliff. The two humans looked over the cliffside and saw at the bottom a vast expansive sea. The boss slams his fist on the ground and exclaims in a rage. The Popplio floated down the currents of the vast open sea with a slight idle smile.
To be continued...
