Venus is not her birth name. After she died, she decided to become a new version of herself while working at Dante's Inferno. While trying to figure out a new name, she thought of a favorite song of hers. So she chose her new name, Venus.

I really love how so many Beetlejuice self inserts and oc's have an "Alive human x gross n' creepy demon/ghost" thing going on. I myself have an alive human self insert. But after re-watching the movie the OG Beetlejuice, I saw the Dante’s Inferno, and thought "It would be so interesting to bring the idea of Dante’s Inferno into beetlejuice the musical (I am more into the musical, and i wouldn't have even watched the movie if it wasn't for the musical), I should make a character for it!"

I forget sometimes how Beetlejuice was named after the star Betelgeuse, so i wanted to have the OC and beej connected that way. I found many space themed names that didn't work for me, until i found Venus. Not only did it get the space theme down, but it is actually the name of the Roman goddess of love, which hits almost everything i needed.

So that is how Venus was born!
