So stay true to your own nature. If you like to do things in a slow and steady way, don’t let others make you feel as if you have to race. If you enjoy depth, don’t force yourself to seek breadth. If you prefer single-tasking to multi-tasking, stick to your guns. Being relatively unmoved by rewards gives you the incalculable power to go your own way. – Susan Cain . . . . . Anyone considering a career path needs to take heed. We all have strengths and weaknesses, those that choose a career that is in sync with their nature will most likely find a fulfilling and positive career. . . . . . I think the secret to life is living in accordance with your natural temperament – setting up a career and a social life that really suits you. But, as the psychologist Brian Little says, we all need to stretch sometimes for the sake of work and people we love. – Susan Cain . . . . . It's been more than 10 years since the GFC in 2008. Historically over the past 100 years we have seen a correction, recession, crash, depression, GFC etc. every 10 years or so. It's a pattern that all investors are aware of and those who "TAKE HEED" can win big. Why every 10 years? There are so many factors to explain why the 10 year dip occurs. As the late great #jimrohn said "So many people are trying to figuring out where the roots are, while others are picking the fruit." "You don't have to figure out how it works, you just have to work it." Australia’s household debt-to-GDP ratio is at a whopping 121% which is high compared to other countries. Australia is one of the few countries to have avoided the economic GFC in 2008 due to many factors including the introduction of the $5000 baby bonus for every mother to have a baby, $21000 reduced gradually to $5000 cash and waived stamp duty for first home buyers, also the Australian government has been practically giving away our natural resources to attract big international corporations to invest in our billion dollar mining industry. All of these economic strategies was a bandaid to the economic crisis. China's booming economy who Australia relies heavily on the economically also have extremely high debt to GDP ratios and due for a recession. Many "heed-takers" suggest Australia didn't avoid the GFC in 2008 but merely postponed the inevitable, like sweeping dirt under the rug over the past 10 years the problem has amplified and we're set up for a great depression worst than the GFC. Others think we're in for a correction in the market and not listening to the "heed-takers". Either way there is risk involved because no one can predict the market. It's up to you to do the research and decide which option is more risky to hold onto your investments and debt hoping that you'll survive or avoid the crash. Alternatively you can cash out, reduce your debt and prepare for the economic crisis. If it occurs then you've sold high and can buy low however if the market continues to grow gradually then you've lost. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsz_IJlHXGT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dgpffh0x8cvv

"The universal longing for heaven is not about immortality so much as the wish for a world in which everyone is always kind." – Susan Cain. . . . . I'd agree with the longing to live amongst people who are kind and loving. It's also a fact that of all the cultures and people in history over 90% believed in a creator, God/s... I believe like a person who hasn't met his mother or father has a deep and indescribable desire within to meet his or her biological parent/s, we all have a deep and indescribable desire to meet our God/s. I believe this is the ultimate reason why people have a desire to enter heaven. . . . . . What's your thoughts on why over 90% of people/ cultures in history believe in a higher power and a longing to make it to Heaven, Valhalla, paradise etc.? https://www.instagram.com/p/BspvBpKHRBD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ei3yhhi2jf4a

I believe that introversion is my greatest strength. I have such a strong inner life that I’m never bored and only occasionally lonely. No matter what mayhem is happening around me, I know I can always turn inward. – Susan Cain . . . There's a quite confidence in many introverts that give them a sense of power. Certainly in many situations this quiet confidence will allow them to outshine the loudest person in the room, a great example would be the Rosa Parks story. . . . . Introverts and extroverts work well in a pairing – both in work and in love. They are drawn to each other’s company; there’s a sense of each one completing the other, a sense of Yin and Yang. – Susan Cain . . . . Opposites attract. . . . . . . "Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions." . . . – Susan Cain https://www.instagram.com/p/BsZ-hIpHrAU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=84y85ujihkbh

"Whoever you are, bear in mind that appearance is not reality. Some people act like extroverts, but the effort costs them energy, authenticity, and even physical health. Others seem aloof or self-contained, but their inner landscapes are rich and full of drama. So the next time you see a person with a composed face and a soft voice, remember that inside her mind she might be solving an equation, composing a sonnet, designing a hat. She might be deploying the powers of quiet." . . . – Susan Cain . . . Persistence isn’t very glamorous. If genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration, then as a culture we tend to lionize the 1 percent. We love its flash and dazzle. But great power lies in the other 99 percent. – Susan Cain . . . Patience, persistence and perspiration. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsXv6POHx27/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=z3cvvcz1j8bx

"Many introverts feel there’s something wrong with them, and try to pass as extroverts. But whenever you try to pass as something you’re not, you lose a part of yourself along the way. You especially lose a sense of how to spend your time." – Susan Cain . . . You exert too much energy attempting to be someone that you're not, be your best self by following your passion. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsTnkN9H4Pn/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=154b4lilzwcj2

Introverts tend to be very careful, much less likely to take outsides risks, which is something we might all favor nowadays… Introverted leaders often deliver better outcomes than extroverts do because when they’re managing pro-active employees they’re much more likely to let those employees run with their ideas, whereas an extrovert can quite unwittingly get so excited about things that they’re putting their own stamp on things and other people’s ideas might not easily then bubble up to the surface. – Susan Cain https://www.instagram.com/p/BsR_gPjH2V5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3buibz3nlhdy

We set up our schools and we set up our work places for maximum group interaction all the time, thinking that this will enable us to be creative and this is a real misconception, because solitude is such a crucial ingredient to creativity and we’re losing sight of solitude. – Susan Cain . . . Susan Cain is an American author. I think this speaks specifically to western culture, certainly growing up in Australia I can relate to the book. There are many other Eastern and Indigenous cultures that embrace solitude and quietness. Think of all the cultures and subcultures who meditate and/or pray in solitude for hours every week. . . . "Prayer is sitting in silence until it silences us, choosing gratitude until we are grateful, and praising God until we are an act of praise." - Father Richard Rohr https://www.instagram.com/p/BsMSn_Qn1VC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=iz5irlndjqm8
