- Review sites and critics constantly give Sonic shit the moment he’s brought up in any conversation, even if the game being discussed is considered good, all the while ignoring the heavy amount of bad installments from other IPs or going out of their way to defend those IPs when they drop the ball…

- SEGA gets shit for anything and everything they do, even when it’s something good or nice, yet whenever another company does something, it’s always #ThankYou___ and deflecting any criticism of their actions…

- Sonic is consistently used as the go-to example for weird or creepy behaviour in fandoms, despite every fandom having their bad seeds, and some fandoms in particular being every bit as notorious with their own examples…

- Sonic fans are mocked for being passionate about characterization and other elements because “You take blue hedgehogs who run fast too seriously”, yet being passionate about such things in other IPs with fantastical and over-the-top elements (Mario, Zelda, Disney, Star Wars, Steven Universe, Kingdom Hearts, comics in general, anime and manga in general, etc) is considered fine…

- Sonic fans themselves often have a defeatist nature and feel the need to pander to the franchise’s haters by joining in on the shitting, and making overly bitter comments about themselves for being Sonic fans…

- Sites that are literally dedicated to Sonic are prone to insulting and laughing at anyone who is still an unashamed fan or tries to be positive about anything that isn’t considered a sacred cow…

- Plenty of people unironically blame what happened with Chris Chan entirely on Sonic’s influence as if Sonic were a real person, all while ignoring that Sonichu is equally plagiarized from “inspired by” Pokemon…

…No, I don’t see any bias at all. I guess what they say is true. Sonic gets a bad rep because Sonic just sucks. Because no other franchise has ever had periods of sucking since the dawn of mankind.

the sonic movies have a misogyny problem cuz most of the female characters save maddie are underbaked or only exists to be a jerk, and [SPOILERS] it shouldn't take extra movies just to put in a female character from the games.

the writers were very deliberate with the horrific oppression of zaun and caitlyn’s spiral into fascist dictatorship, and yet, nothing got resolved. only one individual was made a representative of zaun, while piltover has several. zaun won’t be heard, because it wasn’t given the chance to, even when one of their own was put on the council. caitlyn didn’t redeem herself, because nothing that she sacrificed or did could undo the fact that she gassed the people who her society oppressed. she quite literally weaponized the gas that was created as a result of the labor of the oppressed, which we know permanently disables and decreases the lifespan of those who are exposed to it longterm (the only ones affected by this are zaunites). her story feels wrong because she suffers no actual repercussions for her horrendous actions. the story falls flat and the writing seems disingenuous because decisions like this were made. they cared more about a ship than they did about either caitlyn or vi and both characters suffered for it. caitlyn faces no consequences for her actions and vi is made a narrative device who has no opinion and immediately sacrifices her morals and forgives caitlyn. this results in them having sex in a jail cell very similar to the one vi lived in for years because of people like caitlyn. it is very… weird.

the kiramman vents were designed by cassandra to PROTECT the citizens of zaun from the grey. cait knew this and she still used the vents as a chemical weapon to kill dozens of innocent zaunites.

caitlyn didn’t do this to avenge her mom. her moms death was just the catalyst. it was just the tipping point cait used to justify killing dozens of innocent zaunites. we ALL know cassandra kiramman was looking down asking herself where the hell she went wrong. even cait probably knew her mom would’ve been disgusted by her actions. cait is just another violent piltie who found a reason to kill zaunites and ran with it. she might as well have spat on cassandra’s grave.
