- made us all suffer through commentators trying to pronounce Botic van de Zandschulp (USO 2024)

- scared of insects (#BeeGate)

- still goes back to Victor Barber even though last time he had his hair cut the entire tennis community had a breakdown

- obsessed with this one Louis Vuitton polo shirt (fashion game weak)

- always smiling even if he’s giving fans heart attacks (have some compassion Carlos)

ok starting to think that the people on twt blaming it all on carlos' team when he loses and calling for a team change just can't bear to put the blame on carlos. like he isn't a helpless baby, he can make decisions for himself, and when he makes mistakes he can own them. he made a lot of mistakes this match and that's mostly on him. especially when he's losing his head, then really the best his team can do is try to calm him down. i guess w the introduction of the new coaching rule maybe they can give some tactics tips but i doubt it makes much of a difference. saying that they don't do anything but say vamos to him during the match is so reductive and makes it seem like people don't actually understand what's going on in a match 🤦

I am going to speak cause I've been wanting to speak since what happened these past months with Lando and now that I have seen a lot of unjustified tweets about Carlos.

During these past years, hate online has become something close to an illness and if you have a pair of eyes you can see it clearly.

Women and men in sports (tennis and F1 are the ones I follow) have bad days, close-to-perfection days, days where they know they could have done better… We all see the mistakes they do and believe when I tell you that a lot of them torture themselves over the slightest slip.

With this I am not saying that you cannot express a constructive comment or critic online, we are people with freedom of expression by right. But the unjustified hate or even make-up information or assumptions will never be okay in my book.

So when you are able to spend several hours going rally after rally or when you are able to drive at 300km/h in extreme conditions, you'll be closer to be justified to talk about it.

Until then you'll just be a person with a life sad enough that you have to disminish others hiding yourself behind a screen, when the only thing these athletes are doing is trying to perfom on his job as best as they can.

I could go on and on about all of this but for today I think I am done

okay i think right now is beyond the "boom" mental state and more that djoko is playing good and to the point. carlos doesn't seem to find open places to score (and break), and, like everyone, that affects mentally.

always mention you at every chance he has, even in post-match interviews where he subtly dedicates all his victories to you

have a secret code with you so everytime he passes the water bottle playfully from one hand to another he's meaning to say "i love you"
