I remember when my mom first asked what an app is. She didn't speak english and I was still learning it. My language didn't have words for it so it was really hard to explain what apps are. I myself could barely understand too because I was only just learning the concept of apps. I think I ended up saying it's what we call programs on smart phones. At the time that's what it was
not to enforce gender roles but a computer should NOT fucking have apps okay. if I wanted an app I'd go on my phone my laptop is for Programs. I mean this.

You know who I blame? Not the people who "didn't campaign hard enough" for Harris. Not even the people who sat out.
No, I blame the 71+ million people who actually voted for someone they knew was unfit to lead the country. The people who, for whatever reason, decided they hated the status quo so much they'd rather return the chaotic fascist to the White House. Yes, there's a large amount of racism and sexism involved, but I also think a lot of what Harris faced were just ... normal politics. People aren't happy with their situation, so they vote against the party in power. Which kind of leads me to my second point.
Because I also blame the news media, in two very specific ways:
One, they gave minimal coverage to Biden's many achievements in office, especially those that significantly benefited a lot of the people who just turned around and voted for the guy who's going to undo all of it. The media absolutely did Biden's presidency a disservice by pouncing on every misstep and downplaying the successes. They behaved similarly once Harris became the nominee, in terms of muting her rise and the role she played in Biden's signature legislation.
And two, by normalizing the other guy. In 2016, 2020, and 2024, they treated a vile, vengeful, mean-spirited fascist like a normal Republican candidate for president.
They treated these like normal elections, so of course economic issues should be foremost in people's minds. Of course people would automatically just vote for the out party when they aren't happy with their economic situation.
And of course voters treated it that way, too, when it didn't have to be. Not only should people have been made more aware that the Biden administration actually cared about them, but maybe they should have considered something more than the simplistic, "Prices too high, vote out the incumbent."

This year proved once again that there are sooooo many dumb people out there and sadly so many actually bad people too. I like to see the world as a good place, see the hope and spread love into it. But then shit like this happens and I start to doubt myself.... maybe the majority of the world is really rotten.....
the fact that so many people continue to back trump every year makes me nauseous. it doesn’t matter if he loses because too many fucking people have clearly become comfortable with and supportive of right wing extremism thanks to him. what do you mean you support fascism. what do you mean.
