Your heart will go on:

The cover is nice

Lined with gold and secrets.

You open the book and begin a new life

Within the pages you found a home you made some friends

After every page you start hoping the story never ends

Within the words you find love and joy

Because in the next couple pages you met a fictional boy

Your heart will be loved

Your heart will be broke

Your heart will go on because of the words they spoke

You live there life

You experience their pain

And when there’s a sale at the bookstore

It’s like the hunger games

When people see you read, they just see you staring at pieces of paper filled with empty words

But in your mind you see dragons and mockingjay birds

When you read you stare at a tree and hallucinate for hours

Reading is like unlocking all sorts of mind powers

Now reading doesn’t always make you happy

You experience the deaths of loved ones that were never even real

You experience pain from those who were never even real

But you know what they were real to you

You cry for hours

Just hoping what you read was wrong

Hoping that the author had made a mistake

Because at the end of the book it was like a sad love song

Not one that leaves you teary eyed

But one that makes you feel like your heart went on a horrible roller coaster ride.

But like I said

Your heart will be loved

and your heart will be broke

But your heart will go on because of the words they spoke

When they said “I’m fine” right before they died

When they say “I love you” that made there loved ones cry

And that gives you closure

And your heart has moved on

Then you grab another book

And repeat another love con

And you know that it’s ok to cry over those who were never real

Because you know your heart has been loved

And you know your heart has been broke

But you also know your heart will go on

Because of the words they spoke.
