Note
the back fin on the thresher shark extents a lot further than I've seen in other sharks, is there a known use for that, something special about the thresher shark?
Thresher sharks use their long, whip like tails to whip schools of fish, the whip causes a shock-wave. This paralyzes the fish and is powerful enough to cause bladder ruptures. This is the Thresher shark’s main way of feeding, and it’s the only shark that does it.
This has been rarely filmed. The footage that does exist of this hunting strategy is not the best quality, but it’s very mesmerizing nonetheless.
