The Eight: The Beginning

Where did Yeppeun come from? How did she meet her Warriors? What made her leave? This is a look into the world of The Queen and her Warriors from the very first time they met.
Master List of my writings as well as the link to The Eight are at the end of the chapter.

Sejong looked around at the little world he’d curated for himself. It felt like it was missing something, but what could that be? Was he lonely? Bored? He supposed he could wander down among the humans for a while, see how they were progressing. That might distract him for a bit. Maybe he could go see what his son was up to. Minho was always doing something interesting. The boy had a healthy curiosity about him.
Sejong had created Minho from the fibers of the earth close to 500 years ago, the last time he had this feeling, and the boy seemed to come into being wanting to know everything there was to know about the creatures there. Human, animal, insect… it didn’t matter. Minho wanted to know.
It was those thoughts that brought Sejong to the conclusion that Minho should have some sort of companionship. Maybe that would help him live a more well rounded existence, and Sejong wanted nothing more than to see his son be happy.
“I don’t need companions, Father.” Minho said when Sejong informed him of the plan, “I am happy as I am.”
Sejong chuckled, of course father knew best in situations like these, so he continued with his plan to make sure his son had the very best by creating a set of human souls that would compliment the boy nicely. Of course, he would need more than one soul to be with him for eternity, the boy was born to be a Muse. There was a lot of care and attention he would need. But not always lovers, no. He would need the bond of friendship to meet his needs as well.
So, Sejong fashioned three human souls that were to be bound together for all time. Every single lifetime they would find each other, be there for each other. Every single human lifetime, Minho would have their companionship and love.
Sejong was quite proud of this idea, but knew that Minho had a stubborn streak and would reject his soul mates if he knew it was his father’s doing. So, Sejong sent the souls to be born in the area’s Minho was known to travel most often, and waited for the time to come when he would feel drawn to them.
In the time of immortals, those years were short, and it wasn’t long before Minho came across his soul mates, one at a time. Sejong felt pride watching his son enjoy that companionship and love, even if the boy said that he was being manipulative and controlling.
Those human souls became a steady place for Minho to land and he cherished them, but he couldn’t deny that a part of him was resentful that his father would go forward with a plan that he’d vetoed.
It took a couple of human lifetimes for the pain of watching his Soulmates grow old and die to become normal. As was the hunt for them when they were reborn. Minho began to consider being born into a human life so he could live along with his Soulmates, rather than be separated by his immortality.
Sejong was against this idea and decided that, between his feeling of something missing and keeping his son in line, the best course of action was to give the boy something to be responsible for in this realm.
So the god pulled light from the Sun itself and created a little sister for Minho to look after, naming her Dalsun.
As angry as Minho was at his father for again manipulating and controlling his life, he adored his little sister. She was a bright spot in his life, always quick to smile, and easy to love.
Dalsun, like her brother, was also very curious, and often found herself in some sort of trouble with their father for poking around where she wasn’t supposed to.
“This one is going to make me mortal and give me gray hair.” Sejong would say under his breath after doling out whatever punishment he felt fit her actions.
Minho noticed how much more strict his father was with Dalsun than with him, and found the punishments to be too harsh, especially for one as inexperienced as she was, so he began spending more time with her. He would follow her on her adventures, and when she was caught, he would make sure the punishments were given to himself instead.
Although he couldn’t prove it, Sejong knew that Minho wasn’t actually the one causing problems, but decided to see if watching her brother be beaten on her behalf would reign his daughter in better than being beaten herself.
Dalsun couldn’t bear to see Minho take her punishments, and vowed to keep to herself and behave. She also knew that he’d abandoned his Soulmates and source of happiness to tend to her, and that was the last thing she wanted.
“I just want you to be happy, brother,” Is all she would say before trying to force him back to earth to be with his Soulmates.
“You deserve to be happy, too, Dalsun,” was always his response.
With an oath to be good, Dalsun talked Minho into going back to Earth to be with his Soulmates.
“I promise, I will not do anything to incur father’s wrath,” she said with a little chuckle.
But Minho did not trust his father, and used his Muse to create a mental connection with her so they could stay in contact wherever they were.
“I did this with my Soulmates. Every time we reconnect our souls in their human lifetimes, we are able to connect like this. They can call on me whenever they need me, and I can check in to make sure they’re safe.”
Dalsun sighed, “I need to spend more time getting to know how to use my Muse better. There’s so much I don’t know!”
After she sent Minho back to his Soulmates, she set off to find out more about her Muse, and the responsibility and power that came with it. Her Muse studies kept her busy for a couple of centuries, and all was relatively quiet. For a while.
Dalsun grew bored with her studies. She’d learned everything she could in that realm, and yearned to experience more. She started watching the humans, and found them to be fascinating. Minho even brought her down to visit with his Soulmates a few times, allowing her a chance to get to know the Earth and the people in it up close.
Every time she went back to her father, she seemed to become more and more depressed. She was bored and trying hard not to get herself or her brother beaten, and her father’s mood was what dictated whether a punishment would be coming or not.
Sejong did notice his daughter’s melancholy and in his heart he did want her to be happy.
He looked at Minho, and how he was always content and at peace when he was with his Soulmates, and wondered if the same plan would work for his daughter. She was much more of a handful than her brother though. As he watched his daughter mope, he thought about what she would need to live a happy existence.
She did love adventure, so she would need a companion, a warrior, that enjoyed their share of adventure while keeping her safe.
She was quick to smile, and would occasionally tease him. Some mischief was definitely in order… while keeping her safe, of course.
Dalsun was a wiley one, and would try to get away with all sorts of things. She was going to need someone to watch her every move to keep her safe, but also be able to help her get away with just enough to keep her sense of self happy. Someone to redirect the attention of those who would try to stop her… while keeping her safe.
He still wanted someone that could engage her intellectual mind, though. Someone that had a way with words… but was still able to protect her.
She needed a fierce protector, too. Sejong was not going to risk his daughter to a group of people without knowing she was well taken care of.
And passion. She needed passion in her life. Someone that would love her the way she deserved to be loved. Love her to distraction.
As Sejong considered the best course of action, he debated on how to make sure these souls could handle his daughter, and ensure her safety. Obviously she would need more attention and protection than her brother. In the end, the God decided that they would need all the help they could get to handle his wild child, so he created seven separate warrior souls that would compliment her, help her, protect her and love her, as well as each other.
Like Minho’s Soulmates, they would find each other throughout each lifetime to fulfill their destinies to care for Dalsun.
Again Sejong did this in secret and watched as the souls grew and met in their human lives. He was satisfied with his work, and thought that Dalsun would appreciate what he had created for her.
His plan backfired when Dalsun found her Soulmates and realized what he had done. Her heart was full, and she fell in love with each one of them, respectively, as she watched them from afar. Because of her deep love for her warriors, Dalsun decided to be born into the mortal coil to be with them, against her fathers wishes.
Trying to retain what little control he could of the situation, Sejong directed her soul to be born into a royal family…

The Eight Extra: Petal’s First Christmas
Tumblr media
The Eight Extra: Petal’s First Christmas
With as busy as they’d been, December was there before they knew it. The group was busy doing interviews as well as prepping for the MMA’s and MAMA award shows. The performances were pre recorded, but in true Bangtan style, they were huge and took a gigantic amount of energy.
By this time, The Muse was seven months pregnant with twins, and felt like a whale. Petal was a little over 9 months old and had absolutely no mercy on her mother being a little slower and tired as she grew two more humans in her belly. The Muse was eternally grateful that there were seven other people in this world that Petal loved to no end that took some of the attention off of her.
Yoongi had decided to finally fix his shoulder, and they all thought his healing would go faster if his daughter wasn’t demanding to be picked up and climbing all over him. He was an absolute pushover for Petal, and tended to allow her to do whatever she wanted to him, even if it hurt. So he took Holly and went to Daegu to spend some time healing. They all missed him terribly, and Petal usually ended up crying after their nightly video calls. Not for long though, since the other 6 men couldn’t handle her little heart being broken in any way and would do anything they could think of to make her happy. The Muse made sure to send Yoongi Petal’s happiness through their connection. It broke his heart to see her so sad, and their connection helped him heal and sleep.
They celebrated Uncle Jinnie’s birthday just before the award shows. The Muse had found a little RJ suit that fit Petal perfectly. She wasn’t walking just yet, but was a quick crawler, and the fuzzy suit helped the little princess zoom faster around on the tile floors. Jinnie was doing his own VLive while the others were all out of the dorm. The Muse stayed behind with him because Petal was napping, and found it to be the perfect time to surprise him with the RJ suit.
Petal didn’t mind the suit. She had so many RJ stuffies of different sizes and shapes that she was very familiar with him. She woke up from her nap and nursed while Jinnie was on with ARMY to celebrate. The Muse pulled the little sprout on top of Petal’s head out of its tie and brushed her hair back so that it wasn’t in the way of the little hood. Petal was not a fan at first, grabbing at it and trying to get her head out of it, but once The Muse held her up to stand in front of the mirror, Petals' whines turned into giggles and grunts as she slapped her hands on the glass.
Jinnie was cleaning up a bit when he heard the tell-tale slaps on the floor and giggle grunts of his favorite little person coming his way. Turning toward the noise, he burst into laughter at the little RJ scrambling across the floor at top speed to get to him. She tried to hold onto his leg to stand, but the footies on her suit were too slippery. Jinnie took pity on her and lifted her up with a flourish, throwing Petal into the air before he caught the giggling bundle and gave her kisses on her chubby little cheeks.
“Does my little Petal want some chocolate cake?” he asked as he set her on his hip. Petal always wanted chocolate, she was her mother’s daughter after all.
After a few mouthfuls of chocolate cake with strawberries, Petal sort of helped her mother sing happy birthday to Uncle Jinnie, who then was awarded the task of entertaining the sugared up beast while The Muse put her feet up.
While she watched them crawl and play, The Muse marveled at how they were able to keep Petal a secret from the public as long as they had. There weren’t even rumors about her pregnancy. It wasn’t until some crazy fan climbed a tree and took pictures of Yoongi holding Petal when they were exiting from the back of a building after rehearsals that the world finally knew of her existence. Her face was still safely hidden, but the little dark head of hair and the cooing look of her father talking to her on the way to the car made headlines worldwide.
There were some saesangs that called for BTS to disband. That was to be expected. But, more often than not the fans online wanted to see the men as fathers. So, every now and again they would release a photo of themselves with Petal, never revealing her face or name. Just the love they had for their little princess, exploding ovaries around the globe.
The Muse was actually thankful that their cover had been blown. She was huge with this pregnancy, and hiding it would have caused more stress than necessary. Now she could wear whatever she wanted. Reporters and paparazzi could take as many photos as they felt they needed, and it didn’t matter.
One of the babies made a quick movement that caused her entire stomach to lurch outward.
“That one is going to be a dancer. Or a soccer player. I don’t know which, but good lord,” She complained as she rubbed a sore spot on her upper belly.
“It really does look like a scene from ‘Alien’ when they do that,” Jinnie added as he sat still on the floor to be Petal’s jungle gym. “Where did you find this RJ outfit! It’s so cute. Almost as cute as you, Miss Petal,” he added as he made funny faces for his niece. Petal was grunting and giggling as she tried to climb up and around her current favorite person.
Her favorite changed, depending on the time of day, who was around, and what mood she was in. Her mother was not very fun unless she was sleepy, hungry, or didn’t feel well. Appa Jungkookie was her favorite when she was really excitable and wanted to play hard. Appa Tae was fun to cuddle and watch cartoons with. Appa Jimin danced and sang, which made her try to sing along. The Muse bet that her daughter would be just as good as Appa Jungkookie at matching pitch when she was older. Appa Yoongi made sure Petal had as many varied small piano toys around, and she loved to sit on his lap while he played. Guitars were becoming a common instrument around the apartment, as well, and Petal had a lot of fun trying to strum the strings,
She really enjoyed bedtime stories with Uncle Joonie. He always had some sort of story to tell. Uncle Hobi still liked to get her all riled up. He was a particularly good tickle monster, and his noises had Petal’s shrieks of laughter louder than anyone else could get out of her. Uncle Jinnie could go either way. He liked to play and crawl around with the little one, but he also enjoyed holding her on his lap while he played games. She usually fell asleep, but occasionally she would actually watch and make her version of commentary on his gaming abilities.
Since no one else was around, Jinnie was kind enough to just give The Muse a fork with the cake instead of pretending she wasn’t going to eat the whole thing as soon as he turned his head.
“Can I have a glass of milk, please?” The Muse asked, batting her eyelashes at him in between mouthfuls of cake.
Jinnie chuckled, “You know, if I tell your husbands about this, they will probably make you eat nothing but raw vegetables for dinner tonight.”
The Muse gasped in outrage, “They wouldn’t! And you had better keep quiet, Mr. Kim.”
Jinnie was still smiling when he brought her an extra big cup of milk. Petal wanted whatever her mom was having, so she used the couch to stand up and open her mouth in a very “Feed me” manner.
The Muse giggled and gave her a tiny bite of cake.
“You are SO my daughter,” she laughed.
The hood of the RJ suit had finally come off, and Petal’s hair was sticking out all over the place.
That’s how Appa Tae found them when he walked in the door, jovially singing Happy Birthday to Jinnie as he handed the man a present. He turned and chuckled at the look of Petal.
Hair all over the place, face smeared with chocolate frosting and chin dripping with milk from her mother’s glass.
“Come here my Princess Monster,” he said as he hoisted the little one into his arms. He turned and headed into the kitchen to get a cloth to wash her face,
“Is the cake good? Should Appa try some?”
Petal babbled an entire story to him, and Tae listened intently to every syllable. Nodding and agreeing every now and again to let her know that whatever it was she was saying was absolutely correct.
With it being Petal’s first Christmas, they’d decided to go all out and decorate the dorm, and Yoongi decided that he would come home, no matter how far along in his healing he was. He was not about to miss his daughter’s first Christmas.
Christmas Eve came, and he snuck to the dorm while everyone was busy at the office. Petal “helped” her mommy put up little decorations in their sitting room, and had a huge sugar rush when Uncle Steve showed up with a special christmas cookie for his favorite little girl before he drove them home. Steve fully enjoyed guarding them. The Muse was thankful they didn’t go out in public much at the moment, because he could get extra intense when guarding Petal. It was going to be interesting when the new babies would arrive. Leif and Fern, as they were called for now.
Much to The Muse’s surprise, when she was able to check in with them for the first time, she found herself on a forest path, and the two little ones snuggled together on a soft bed of leaves. Petal found it entertaining to watch mommy’s stomach when the babies were moving and kicking. Although she did get a little cranky when she was in the mood to snuggle and they wouldn't’ stay still. She was also terribly cranky about the process of being weaned. But, little by little, they were getting there.
As per usual, The Muse and Petal were the first to return to the Dorm. She was so thankful Sejong had eased up enough to allow her to be without her Warriors for short periods of time. Now was one of those times she was extra thankful. Petal was cranky. Very cranky. She was whiny and teething, and probably a little hungry.
They opened the door into the dorm with Steve in the lead. Normally he would be the one to carry Petal, especially with The Muse getting as big as she was. But with Petal’s mood, she was attached to her mother, and not going to let go without a fight. They were surprised to see the lights already on, which brought Steve to a halt. But the smell of food and the piles of togo boxes that were stacked on the kitchen table had The Muse pushing the man toward the table. He could protect her while she was stuffing her face.
“Is that Min Jia I hear? Is My Petal being a fussy baby?” Yoongi’s head popped up from where he was lounging on the couch, and Petal started pushing away from her mothers chest, almost desperate to get down and get to her father.
The Muse put her down and Petal took off like a flash, limbs moving before she even hit the ground, crawling as fast as she could on the slippery tile floors to get to her Appa. Yoongi’s smile was brighter than the sun as he leaned down and scooped up his daughter with his good arm and leaned back on the couch.
Petal hugged her arms tightly around his neck and used her little legs to climb as high up on his torso as she could until her little booty was level with his face, almost as if she was trying to make sure all of him was there and couldn’t leave again. He had to kiss her behind the ear because he couldn’t reach her cheeks from how hard she was squeezing him.
Yoongi was laughing as he tried to steady Petal and settle her down a little bit. The Muse came to watch her daughter attack her husband with love.
She said, “We missed you, Yoongi,” as she sat down by his good side, leaning in for a quick kiss before Petal grabbed his face and brought his full attention back to her for her own kisses. Watching Petal squeeze Yoongi’s cheeks while screeching “DaDaDaDa”, and the look of love and happiness on his face was almost too much for The Muse’s hormonal emotions to handle.
Steve poked his head around the corner, and with a chuckle asked if she was planning on staying in for the night. The Muse smiled and bid her security guard a good night before he left.
“What do you say, my little Flower. Are you hungry?” He asked Petal in between loud smacking kisses on her chubby little cheeks, “I got your favorite rice and noodles.”
For the remainder of the evening, Petal was attached to Yoongi. She didn’t want anyone else, which was difficult at times with Yoongi still healing from shoulder surgery. None of her other Appa’s would do, and her Uncles could be as entertaining as they wanted to, but she wasn’t going to give up her Dada. She had missed him too much. When bedtime came, she allowed The Muse to give her a bath, as long as Yoongi was within reach. And, she insisted he hold her while she had her bottle.
Yoongi didn’t mind one bit. He missed her as much, if not more than she had missed him. They sat together in the rocking chair that was in her nursery, and he sang her songs until she fell asleep. Even then he asked for more time before his wife transferred Petal to her crib.
The rest of the Warriors were busy, though. They wanted to surprise Petal with a tree that was decorated and loaded with presents. The Muse continually told them that, at this age, Petal wasn’t going to remember anything they do now, but none of them could hold in their excitement. She checked in on Yoongi and Petal before heading out to the living room to watch what the Warriors were doing.
“Sit down, Yeppeun,” Tae told her the moment she appeared, “You need your rest. How are my babies?” He came over and rubbed her belly. If she thought he was all over her belly when she was pregnant with Petal, it was nothing compared to now. He was utterly fascinated with his babies and that belly. He curled around her side the moment she sat down and continued rubbing the belly. He talked to the babies and always had the biggest grin on his face when they responded to his voice.
“Ya! Come and help us, Taehyungie!” Jinnie said, throwing a pile of shiny silver garland on top of his head, forcing him to sit up and pout.
“But with Yoongi back, Yeppeun is going to want to sleep with him tonight, and I am not going to get my belly time in.”
The Muse leaned in and kissed Tae, “I love you. Go decorate.”
He giggled before kissing her back, and then kissing her belly twice before he was up and decorating again.
By the end of the night, the entire living room of the dorm had been transformed into a Christmas extravaganza. Jimin also had a pretty Christmas dress for Petal to wear, but The Muse suspected it was a ploy for yet another photo shoot, this time in front of the tree.
She found Yoongi and Petal fast asleep in the rocking chair, Petal’s bottle discarded on the floor. Careful not to wake either of them, The Muse picked up Petal and transferred her into her crib. A deep breath told her that Yoongi had woken up, too, and was wincing in pain when she turned to him. Tae wasn’t lying when he said that she would want to stay with Yoongi that night. She’d missed him terribly. But, between his injuries and two babies pushing on her bladder, neither of them slept well that night.
Petal demanded Yoongi immediately when she woke up in the morning,
“DADADADADA” rang loud and clear throughout the dorm, as did the squeeks of her crib as she jumped up and down until her mother came for her. Picking Petal up out of the crib, she continued her tirade of “Dadadadadadada” until Yoongi appeared over his wife’s shoulder while she was changing Petal’s diaper. Thankfully she was about done, because once Petal caught sight of him, it became baby rodeo until The Muse could get the tabs of the diaper fixed in place.
Yoongi was more than happy to take his talking little terror to each and every room to wake up her Appa’s and Uncles before they all surprised her with the holiday explosion in the living room. The grown men were more excited than the baby. Although, to be fair, she had no idea what was waiting for her. Appa Jiminnie had her first special Christmas outfit waiting, a red velvet onesie with a little pointed hood that had a white floof ball attached to the top. Once they got her changed into that, Jimin showed her his own matching onesie pajamas, and that he had one for Appa Yoongi, too. In truth, he had bought one for everyone.
Even Yoongi was in the spirit! He took his pajamas, and left Petal with Appa Jiminnie to wake up the rest of the men and make sure they all wore their pajamas.
Petal always had a great time being the alarm clock in the morning. Appa Tae Tae liked to pretend he wasn’t awake already, which usually led to a rousing game of peek-a-boo that never failed to have Petal laughing hysterically. Appa Jungkookie usually lost the morning wrestling match and had to retaliate with tickle monster. Appa Jiminnie usually woke up with Petal laying over his head, telling him some story.
Yoongi had been gone for a few weeks, so he had missed out on a lot of growth. When he had surgery, Petal was crawling slowly around. Now she was a speed demon on her hands and knees, and was able to pull herself up to stand. His wake up call had been Petal laying her face on his and telling him some sort of story until he acknowledged her. He loved waking up to her calling him today. He’d missed her sweet little voice so much.
Once everyone was awake and dressed in their matching outfits, Jungkook ran to the living room and crouched down, video camera up and ready as the men all made their debut. The Muse was following behind with Petal holding on to her fingers as she slowly tried walking. The men’s excitement got the better of her though. She stopped every few steps to giggle and bounce as they called her toward them. In the end, Petal let go of her mother to crawl as fast as she could toward Appa Jungkookie and his camera.
Tae took his wife’s hand and led her to the couch where he could get a kiss and his belly time in, and watch as their daughter experienced her first Christmas morning. Petal was laser focused on her Appa’s, and didn’t notice the decorations at first. Once Jiminnie picked her up and took her to the giant lit tree in the corner, she wasn’t sure what to make of it. The piles of presents around the tree sparkled and shined, but the baby girl wasn’t sure how to feel about it. She got quiet and thoughtful as she took in all of the pretty decorations.
Jimin set her down in front of the presents, but she kept a firm grasp on his hand as she looked at everything.
Uncle Jinnie decided to make breakfast for everyone, thinking that maybe Petal would be more excited if she had some food in her belly. As he cooked, she stayed close to the tree. She slowly got a little more brave, occasionally reaching to touch the tree and ornaments. It was fun to watch her interest grow.
When breakfast was ready, they headed for the kitchen. Petal refused to sit, wanting to keep her eyes on the tree. So they moved her high chair to the end of the table where she could keep an eye on this new addition to their home. She didn’t care what she was fed, eating whatever anyone offered without taking her eyes off of her prize.
With breakfast finished and the dishes done, they all crowded around to take some family pictures before getting the grandparents on facetime. Throughout it all, Petal held tight to whatever family member was closest, and kept her focus on the tree.
In the end, everyone got down on the floor with her, and slowly got her to open presents. She was suspicious of the first few, standing and wrapping her arms around her mother’s neck while keeping her eyes on the tearing paper and shiny bows. Uncle Hobi got her to tear a piece of the wrapping paper off of one of the boxes, and she was off. Petal didn’t care what was in the packages, she just wanted to tear into them.
Once she got started, Petal opened all of the presents, whether they were for her or not. The paper was deep, and she was screeching, laughing and playing with it all.
It didn’t take long before it was her nap time, and she was getting bratty and exhausted. As The Muse got a bottle ready, Uncle Joonie grabbed one of the new books he’d given her and took Petal into the nursery to read and settle down to sleep.
The band had to work later in the day, but Petal looked precious in her little Christmas Dress that Appa Jimin bought for her. As far as they were concerned, Petal’s first Christmas was a huge success.
A few days after that was Appa Tae Tae’s birthday. A small get together was planned at his parents' house, which meant Petal would get to play with Tannie. Tannie was a much bigger fan of the baby when she was not able to chase after him. Tae was sure the fancy, layered dress he bought for her to wear that day would get in the way enough for the pup to have time to get away.
“Tae. She’s not even a year old. She doesn’t need brand name anything,” The Muse said over and over again throughout the last 10 months. He would just chuckle and wrap himself around her, covering his wife with kisses until she was properly distracted. The Muse knew this tactic well, but he was so adorable when he did it, she had to let him get away with it.
Taehyung’s family adored Petal, and lavished her with all kinds of love and attention. In fact, they were more excited to see her than they were for Tae for his birthday. Tae’s brother would get Tannie all riled up to play, making the baby laugh. His sister would nom on Petal’s cheeks and give her all of the love. His mother was constantly sneaking the little one treats, and his father was well known for having Petal sit on his shoulders whenever they did anything. Or nothing at all. They were also all as entranced with Leif and Fern as Tae was, and The Muse was guaranteed to have someone touching her belly at all times when she was in that household.
Tannie got to snuggle up with The Muse as long as Petal was distracted. The moment she noticed the pup was in her snug spot on her mommy’s lap, though, she would fuss and wiggle until she made her way over, hoping the fuzzy dog would finally allow her to lay on him. It never worked, but you couldn’t blame her for trying.
After all of the food and cake and excitement, Petal finally got to snuggle with Tannie… after she fell asleep, the pup snuggled up and allowed the baby to run her fingers through his hair as they both slept off their dinner.
As they got closer and closer to The Muse’s due date, they tried their hardest to prepare Petal for life as a big sister. Unfortunately, no matter how many books you read or movies you show, life as an older sibling is something you just have to learn. Luckily, Petal had a mother, 4 doting Daddies, and 3 loving Uncles to help her along the way.

The Eight, Chapter 125/Epilogue
Tumblr media
Seven Korean Warriors and their Queen.
Always together. Finding each other in every lifetime. Their souls destined for each other for eternity. Sometimes as friends. Sometimes as lovers. Sometimes as spouses. Always together. Until around two hundred years ago, when the Queen vanished. The Warriors: Poet, Misdirection, Ferocious, Watcher, Mischief, Adventure and Passion, continued to find each other, always accomplishing great things in their lives. In their current lives, they’ve found each other and created the biggest boy band in the world.  When their Queen is found, and The Eight souls are re-united, they have to figure out how to live, and love, together again.
Chapter 125 / Epilogue
The arrival of the COVID-19 Pandemic coincided with Petal’s birth, and with it came quarantine. The Warriors were all stressed about the changes in their schedules, and the health of everyone around them, but with quarantine also came plenty of Petal time. Baby girl was rarely not in someone’s arms for the first few weeks of her life.
Yoongi had regular nap times with the little bundle snuggled up on his chest and nuzzled into his neck.
Jungkook found ways of incorporating her into his at-home workout routine. It was very gentle for the time being, but The Muse was sure he’d be chucking Petal into the air as far as he could the moment she was ready for it.
Jimin could often be heard singing to her as they danced around the room. The Muse melted a little bit every time she watched him waltz around with the little pink bundle held tight to his cheek as he sang song after song to his precious Petal.
Taehyung did occasionally lay her down, but only so he could lay with her with his arms around her while he sang songs, kissed on her little cheeks and generally loved her to pieces.
The Muse got to have her time with her daughter every couple of hours when the baby got hungry, but that was usually not alone time since there was normally a husband or two snuggled up with them while Petal ate her fill.
As the weeks progressed, Petal’s cheeks started to fill out and she developed sweet little rolls on her arms and legs. Her squeals of laughter when Uncle Hobi played with her got louder, and she was able to stay awake longer to concentrate on Uncle Joonie when he read to her. She could also be found on Uncle Jinnie’s lap watching him play some sort of video game while she flailed her arms and legs around at the excitement on the screen.
Having Idols for fathers and uncles, Petal also had her fair share of photo shoots. It seemed they were always coming up with some sort of cute concept to go along with a  precious outfit one of her many grandparents sent. Thankfully, Petal was patient with all of the attention, and seemed to enjoy her mini modeling career, as long as the sessions didn’t last too long and came with plenty of snack breaks.
Her grandparents were all anxious to meet her, and they made sure to video chat daily to see her. Yoongi’s parents were particularly proud to have the first child be a Min, and were having a hard time not telling everyone they’d ever met about their little miracle.
The pandemic was very helpful in keeping Petal’s birth a secret. They did have to go to the Big Hit building often, but they were never in public and never in the presence of paparazzi, so Petal had so far been spared the stress and anxiety of the crush of fans.
The Warriors had decided to use their down time to work on a new album, and be as involved as they could be in the entire process. They were also planning as many online events for ARMY as they could come up with, hoping to stay in contact with their fans the best way they safely could.
Although they missed their fans and being able to see them in person, they were also thankful to have this time with their little family.
Taehyung asked daily to have more babies.
“There’s only one of her and so many of us. We need more,” was one of his favorite arguments when one of the other dads was having their time with their daughter.
“On the other hand,” he would say as he gave her his most charming look, “Petal being busy with them means that you are currently unoccupied…”
They’d all learned to seduce without actually physically touching their wife, using their connections to kiss and touch in a way she could have a choice in. Not that she ever said no. But, it was having the choice that made it that much more special.
It didn’t take too long before Tae accomplished his goal.
Their online concert in June was a huge success. Petal was getting used to wearing the protective silencing earphones in short bursts, which cut the fussiness down quite a bit. And, although she really wanted to be with her daddies, Petal was entranced with just watching them perform.
Thankfully Sejong had agreed to allow The Muse to be in a quiet room, away from the noise, when Petal needed a break. He was in love with the little one, and was far easier to work with when it was a request for her.
The men were back at the office the day after the online concert, taking a lunch break with Petal sitting in a little chair in the middle of the table where she could see everyone and get all of the attention. The Muse was laughing at her princess as she seemed to lord over her subjects with her little spiky ponytails bouncing around with her every movement. She was a little over 4 months old now, and had a lot of energy until it was nap time. Then, like her father, she would fall asleep wherever she happened to be, and not much would disturb her.
“Oh, she’s not going to be happy when she has to share all this attention,” said The Muse as she tried to wipe her daughters face and hands clean. Petal recently started trying some veggie puree’s, and she was obviously not a fan whatever this particular green mixture was.
Yoongi took over trying to get the little one to try some more of the green goo by making faces at her while avoiding her excited grabby hands.
Jungkook grabbed his wife and brought her down on his lap for a quick cuddle. He fed her a piece of steamed pork before giving her a sweet kiss, their connection opening naturally as they looked into each other's eyes.
“There are enough of us to go around. Our Petal will always have plenty of attention, won’t she?” said Jimin as he, too, started making silly, smiley faces at their daughter.
“Do you think so?” The Muse asked from her place in Jungkook’s lap, “Well, we will find out sooner than you think.”
Taehyung’s hand, food and all, fell back to his plate, “What are you saying, Yeppeun?” his excitement was palpable as he looked at his wife.
“Are you really that surprised, Kim Taehyung?” The Muse had to laugh, “You’ve been very actively trying to get me pregnant again since Petal was born.”
He jumped to his feet and ran around the table, lifting her off of Jungkook's lap and into his arms.
“Is it mine this time, Yeppeun? Is the baby mine?” Tae had tears in his eyes and a smile that shone brighter than the sun as she nodded her head. He buried his face in her neck and cried tears of utter joy. After a moment he let out a loud whoop, scaring Petal who burst into tears of a different sort. Jimin admonished Taehyung and helped Yoongi pull her out of the chair so they could shower her with love until she calmed herself down.
This pregnancy announcement was met with love and happiness. The mood in the room had Petal responding happily. She wasn’t coordinated enough to really clap yet, but she flailed her arms around in excitement, accidentally hitting both Yoongi and Jimin in the face in the process.
Jinnie came over to give The Muse a hug, congratulating her and kissing the top of her head, “Can we have a boy this time, Yeppeun?” he laughed, “Not that I don’t love having our baby girl around.” They all knew that Jin was wrapped around Petal’s tiny pinky, and he regularly kissed her tiny fingers to acknowledge that fact.
The Muse looked around at the men in her life and smiled. Her whole world had changed so much over the past year. She still thought about her past life, and still felt pangs of pain when she thought about her son. But she was moving forward. She’d long ago decided that she needed to try to live a happy life. For herself and for all of the babies she was supposed to be bringing into this world. It was complicated with so many people involved in their relationships, and so many different ideas involved with parenting, but they were making their way through it, slow but sure.
Relationships were full of challenges. And this was going to be no exception. She giggled into Tae’s chest before looking back up into his eyes and said,
“Why not one of both?”
The End.

The Eight, Chapter 124
Chapter 124
The men were in shock. The Warriors were clapping the Husbands on their backs, congratulating them with strained laughs of relief and joy. The Husbands were completely in awe with the new addition to their family.
The Muse couldn’t look away. Finally she had her baby up close and in her arms! Petal was beautiful. A head full of dark hair and the sweetest little features. She smiled. Her daughter looked an awful lot like her father.
The Midwife was busy checking The Muse to make sure the damage was minimal, and was completely surprised that there wasn’t much to see.
“You don’t look like you’ve given birth at all! You’re barely bleeding. I’ve never seen anything like this.” She sat back, staring at The Muse like she might be a science experiment.
“It’s the magic of The Muse, Doc.” said Seokjin with a smile, trying to bring a bit of humor to the woman’s face. When that didn’t work he chuckled and continued, “No! Really! She’s being healed by her Husbands touches.”
The Midwife was still a bit confused, but decided it was best not to ask questions. She took Petal off of her mother's chest to weigh and measure the infant before giving her back to Tae for a short sponge bath. Jimin and Yoongi followed their fellow new Appa to watch as he gave Petal her first washing while Jungkook got their wife up and over to the shower… again. The Muse had to laugh. She can’t remember a time when she’d ever had three showers in such a short amount of time.
Once Tae was finished bathing their little 6 pound 10 ounce, 18 inch peanut, he handed her over to Jimin to be diapered and swaddled under the watchful eye of the midwife. The men were terrified of this tiny human, but she assured them that they would relax and, in time, become pro’s at handling all of these new and daunting things. Yoongi was stiff when Jimin kissed Petal on her forehead and handed her to him. She was so fragile. So perfect. And so very fussy.
Petal calmed right down when she was handed to the freshly cleaned Muse, and had no problem latching on right away.
“Appreciates the finer things in life, I see,” said Yoongi as he sidled up next to his wife on the fresh sheets of the bed to watch their daughter suckle for her first meal, “Gourmet taste.”
The Muse had to laugh at that, since the only thing she’d eaten recently was the ramyen a few hours ago. She was already asking for whatever else they could cook up for her, and was elated to hear that Steve had gone out to get her taco’s and a chocolate shake, and was due back at any moment. She was famished!
The Midwife had her paperwork out and was filling out the particulars of Petal as the little family fawned over her ten perfect little fingers and ten perfect little toes. The Muse saw that keeping this little one swaddled was going to be difficult, since all she wanted to do was kiss her little feet and hands.
Petal let go of The Muse and let out a deep sigh, drawing everyone’s adoration at the cute little sound. They’d nearly forgotten about the Midwife until she started asking questions.
“What is our beautiful little girl’s name?” she asked, paper and pen in hand. Although they would more than likely continue to call her Petal, they had decided to name her,
“Jia” Jimin answered as he leaned down to kiss the baby’s foot, his voice soft and melodic.
Tae crawled up to lay his head on the inside of his wife’s thigh while he gazed up at their daughter. She took hold of one of his fingers as soon as he touched her hand. He couldn’t believe the strength this little one had already. Nor could he believe he helped deliver her. What a rush!
“Yeppeun?” he asked, his voice soft and sweet, “Can we do that again soon?”
She had to laugh at that.
“Taehyung! Petal isn’t even an hour old yet!” she took her hand off of Petal’s tiny diapered bottom to run her fingers through his hair, “Can we wait just a little bit longer before we have that conversation?”
He smiled his huge, happy smile. “I can’t wait to talk you into it.”
Yoongi was stroking Petal’s soft baby hair, smiling at how much of it she had already.
Jungkook was still behind his wife, supporting her and gazing down at this tiny human that just came out of her. It truly was a miracle.
The Midwife was smiling. She always enjoyed this part. Watching the new parents fall even more in love with their child and, in many ways, each other was a beautiful gift, and filled her with such joy every time.
“And what will Jia’s surname be? I will also need the Father to sign the birth certificate.”
The Muse smiled even bigger, never looking away from her daughter,
“Min. Min Jia.”
Yoongi let out a sound that was somewhere between a sob and a laugh. The tears fell as he covered his mouth and looked into his wife’s eyes.
She smiled, love and her own tears shining on her face.
“Min?” he asked, his heart feeling so full it might burst. “Min Jia.” he reached down and kissed the infant on her head before reaching up to kiss his wife. He was Petal’s father. This little miracle was his. He jumped off the bed, his hand heavy and strokes confident as he proudly signed the birth certificate.
He turned to find Jimin holding the baby and taking pictures of her sweet little face as their wife found some clothes to wear. She was positive she could smell the taco’s already, and wanted to be ready the moment they arrived.
Yoongi went to Jimin and smiled, wanting to hold his daughter.
Jimin smiled back, “I am kind of jealous, you know.”
Yoongi nodded, “I would have been, too, if it were the other way around.” he lifted Petal from Jimin and looked closely at her face before he snuggled her close to his chest. She had his eyes.
“But remember, we are all her fathers, no matter who’s DNA she has.”

The Eight, Chapter 123
Chapter 123
The Muse was standing at the island in the kitchen taking a sip of orange juice and telling Steve he should go get some rest when her water broke.
“OH MY GOD!” She exclaimed, garnering the attention of every man in the place, “HOLY SHIT!”
There was a moment of panic as she looked at the puddle of liquid growing under her feet. She couldn’t stop it. She couldn’t control it. It wasn’t like when you went to the bathroom. No. There was absolutely no stopping the rush of fluid that was splashing on the tile floor. What a mess! Ugh. And how embarrassing! She put up her hands to stop her husbands and her bodyguard from coming any closer, afraid that they might slip and fall. Despite her pleas, though, they refused to allow her to do anything other than go clean herself up.
The contraction on the way to the shower was a strong one, and it had her crouching down with Jimin and Tae, once again at her side, holding her steady. They refused to leave her, even as she showered, yet again. She knew she’d need another one soon enough, but the hot water felt nice on her back, and her husbands were right there with her, trying every trick they read about in that book Joonie bought them to help soothe her pain.
Yoongi called the midwife once their wife was out of earshot. She said she’d be immediately on her way. That calmed his anxiety more than he thought it would. His shoulders relaxed a tiny bit and he let out a relieved sigh. Finally. A professional would be there to help.
The Muse went back to walking the hallway as best she could between contractions, with her husbands trading off who was helping at regular intervals. She was crouched down, breathing through another hard contraction when she let out a panicked,
“I feel like I need to push! Oh my god, I need to push. Where’s the midwife?”
All seven men were on their feet, running her way yelling “Don’t push!”
Yoongi had the Midwife on the speakerphone in a heartbeat, praying she was close.
She wasn’t close. She was stuck behind an accident on a bridge and couldn’t get around it.
“Please stay calm,” she soothed at all of them. “Your Highness?” She refused to call The Muse anything other than that, despite her many tries to get the woman to stop, “Let’s get you into the birthing room, ok?” the woman’s voice was serene and in control, bringing a much needed calm to them all. If she was worried, she didn’t let it show in her voice.
“I am looking for alternate routes to you. But, I am also going to be on the phone with you until I get there, ok? Let’s all take a few deep breaths..” and she led them through a few breaths, until another contraction hit.
They’d gotten her into the birthing room by then, at least. She was getting irritated with anything unnecessary touching her, so she tore off the shirt, preferring to just be naked for the time being.
The birthing room looked very different than it had when it was Jimin’s bedroom. Especially since all seven men had decided to add their own touches to what would become Petal’s room. There were a lot of pink and fluffy things just waiting to be loved over and drooled on. They’d all added to the furniture here and there, and even added a bed for The Muse to pass out on during those rough nights.
Plus, the men made sure there were dog beds, because they were positive Petal would want Tannie and Holly to sleep in there when they came over. The Muse didn’t bother telling them that Petal would probably use the dog beds more than the dogs would.
The men were almost chanting “Don’t Push” during every contraction. Jungkook took off his shirt and pulled her back to him in a lounging seated position on the bed, in hopes that maybe the skin on skin contact would help the pain. Yoongi came to her left side to hold her hand and wipe stray strands of hair away from her beautiful face. Jimin took his position on the right side to do the same. Jinnie and Hobi picked up Jungkook’s camera’s and were trying to get video and take photos in respectful angles, which was hard to do when The Muse was naked.
Joonie got out his copy of “What Happens When She Gives Birth” and had it open, barking orders to Taehyung, who was trying not to panic as he followed the elders' orders. The Midwife was continually trying to help them stay calm, and providing updates on her route to get there. She estimated her arrival to be about twenty minutes. At least she was moving again, which gave Yoongi a little bit of hope.
His hope was quickly turned to panic again when the next contraction came. The very top of a dark head was starting to make itself seen. The Midwife’s voice quickly became commanding as she asked Namjoon questions and gave orders to Taehyung, who’d taken up his place between his wife’s legs. He was terrified, but entranced at the idea that an actual human being was about to come out of his wife. He reached out and touched the little bit of head that was showing with his index finger, in awe at the miracle that was childbirth.
His wife’s scream of pain brought him back to the matter at hand. The Midwife was close, but not close enough, it seemed. From her panting, he’d say she was at least near the building. Steve had gone down to the entrance and was waiting to escort the woman up.
Namjoon held the diagrams in the book up for Tae to check as he reached up to put a tiny bit of pressure on Petal’s head. “Don’t let her come out too fast,” the Midwife said.
She instructed the men at The Muses’ sides to hold her legs back and help her push.
It was like that, surrounded by all seven warriors, that The Muse gave birth to her daughter. Taehyung helped her and was the first to hold the screaming infant. He followed the Midwife's orders on clearing her nose and mouth, and couldn’t help but laugh and cry in joy. The baby was perfect, and beautiful.
The Midwife ran into the room and looked over Taehyung's shoulder at the baby. She smiled and congratulated them before running to the bathroom to wash her hands then coming back to tie off the umbilical cord and help with the delivery of the placenta.
As the panic of the moment faded, everyone was swamped with their emotions.
All of the husbands were crying. Jungkook spent most of the delivery with his head buried in his wife’s neck and his hands on the sides of her belly, not watching, but still being there for her in the best way he could.
Yoongi was white and shaking as he cut the umbilical cord, still unable to grasp what had just happened.
Jimin’s tears started the moment he saw the top of that tiny head make its appearance, and sobbed when he heard that tiny cry.
The midwife instructed Tae to lay Petal on her mother’s chest for the time being. The Muse was crying, too. Finally, she was able to hold her daughter. After months of looking at her from a distance, watching her grow in her own little garden, she was finally in her mother's arms.

The Eight, Chapter 122
Chapter 122
After the birthing room was all set and her Husbands started to pace with nervous energy, The Muse noticed that, one by one, they were all producing their copies of “What Happens When She Gives Birth”, a book that Joonie found and bought for them all to be as prepared as they could be. She’d seen all seven copies of the book being studied throughout the last couple of months. Honestly, she would have thought they had it memorized by then.
The contractions were coming closer together and The Muse had started walking up and down the hallway to help the process along a bit. Her husbands were staying close by her side as she walked. Jimin gently rubbed circles on her low back, trying to soothe her in any way he could. Tae was on the other side, holding her hand and kissing it through every single contraction. Yoongi was behind them, chewing his thumbnail and counting out loud for each contraction, giving her his voice to concentrate on as she breathed. Jungkook had gone to get his cameras ready, popping up to take a picture every now and again. She was extremely aware that she looked very… unphotogenic… at that moment, but also knew that these pictures were important to him, and it was a way for him to keep busy and not go completely crazy with nerves.
Her Warriors were just as anxious as her Husbands, and all three were sitting in the living room reading their birthing guide books, again, to make sure they hadn’t missed anything important all of the other times they’d read it.
One particularly strong contraction had The Muse squeezing Tae’s hand so hard she was afraid she might break it. His laughter was strained as he whined about the pain, but never tried to get her to let go. Somehow, the feeling of the ring they all wore being squeezed into his skin reminded him of what he could have lost, and what he was so lucky to have again.
The rings had been Jimin’s idea. After a lot of self reflection about his reaction to Petal, and even his wife, he sought out a therapist to counsel him through his knee jerk reactions and anger.  He’d really been working on making himself a better person, not just for himself, but for his entire family. He didn’t want to bring that kind of energy to their daughter. Jimin worked, almost desperately, to prove himself to be a good man and a good husband.
He’d come to Yoongi, Tae and Jungkook with the idea of matching rings for all of them to share. Yes, their families did want formal weddings at some point, but none of them were sure when something like that could fit into their schedule. Jimin presented them with a drawing of the infinity symbol, a sideways 8, with seven white diamonds and one larger purple diamond in the very center, holding the symbol together, infinitely.
They were all in love with the idea, and had five matching rings specially made. They even had matching necklaces made for Namjoon, Hoseok and Seokjin.
In talking to each other, they also realized that none of them had ever done anything truly romantic for their wife. Yoongi and Jungkook were adamant that she understood how they felt without having to make a big gesture. Jimin and Tae were romantics at heart and would not stand for it. It took a little prodding, and a promise that all they needed to do was show up when they were called, but Yoongi and Jungkook finally acquiesced and agreed to give Jimin and Taehyung free reign in creating an overly romantic moment for their wife. She’d been through so much with them, and deserved the world.
Getting it all together in between rehearsals, recording and every other thing they had going on was a challenge. As was finding a way to pull off their ideas without the public finding out about it. They were steadfast in their attempt to keep the pregnancy a secret as long as they possibly could, and were trying to keep The Muse hidden as much as possible. Which meant that they mostly just went from the dorm to the office and back again.
Jimin took that as a personal challenge and drew up some detailed plans before sharing his thoughts with Tae. It wasn’t original by any means, but they knew she’d love it anyway.
They had Seokjin take The Muse out for a milkshake and a drive around Seoul to kill time while they prepared their dorm. The dining and living room had been turned into a flowery oasis, filled with colors and greenery of all kinds. Tae set up flameless flicker candles all over and weaved strands of white Christmas lights wrapped in tulle in and out and around the lines of vases, giving the space a soft glow. They originally wanted Yoongi and Jungkook to cook the meal, but their schedule hadn’t allowed it, so they put the duo in charge of ordering dinner to go, with special emphasis on getting her favorite chocolate filled croissants for dessert.
They had the food plated prettily under Taehyung’s watchful eye, and were as ready as they were ever going to be when Seokjin sent a text saying they were on their way.
“Why am I so nervous?” Jungkook complained while jogging in place to release some of his pent up nerves, “It’s not like we aren’t already married and having a baby. I shouldn’t be this nervous.” He tried some jumping jacks and push ups to see if they would help.
Yoongi was also a little nervous. He wasn’t amazing at making huge romantic gestures. He preferred to be more subtle. What if she thought it was stupid and they wasted their time and money putting this whole mess together?
Jimin and Tae were confidently putting the finishing touches on their design when Seokjin sent a text telling them that he and The Muse were about to get on the elevator. The men rushed to get into position in the living room.
They were in a line facing the front door with each man kneeling on the floor, hands on their knees and heads bent in a sort of submissive position. In front of each man was an open ring box... Their rings. One, lone, open ring box was set prominently in front of the others... Her ring.
The door opened, and Seokjin held it for The Muse to step into the dorm. He then said that he left something in the car and left without another word.
The Muse closed the door and stepped into the dining room. Her mouth hung open in shock as she took it all in. The whole space had been transformed. She slowly walked toward the living room, completely entranced with all of the flowers and lights. Tears fell the moment her eyes landed on her husbands.
They all looked up at her, faces shining with love,
“Yeppeun?” Jimin’s sweet, angelic voice said, “In the last few months, our worlds have been turned upside down. We’ve learned about ourselves and have had the opportunity to know the greatest love we could have ever imagined. We know that we are technically married already, but we had these rings made especially for our union. If you look at it, you’ll see seven warrior stones, and one queen all wrapped up in the eight. The infinity sign.” he couldn’t help the little nervous giggle as he said, “What do you say, Yeppeun? Will you wear our ring?”
The Muse couldn’t help the tears that fell as she listened to Jimin. Before she answered, she lowered herself onto her knees in front of her husbands and her ring, and connected to all of them. She sent her love and told them how much she adored them. Each man, in turn, did the same for her.
She reached over and took Yoongi’s ring out of the box and took his left hand. Yoongi cupped her cheek as she placed a kiss on his ring finger and looked adoringly into her eyes as she slid the ring into place.
Then she turned to Jimin, giving him his own moment as she placed the ring on his finger. When the metal was securely in place, Jimin took her hand and brought it to his own lips as he sent her his own promises and words of love.
Tae was eager when she turned to him, grabbing her face and kissing her lips before she even had a chance to take his ring out of the box. His smile was unrepentant as he bowed down to lay a sweet kiss on her belly before getting back into position for her to place the ring on his finger.
Jungkook was timid when his wife turned her attention to him, but couldn't help but connect to her the moment their eyes met. His emotions were a little overwhelming for him, but he shared them anyway, knowing that she needed to feel and understand where he was and what he was feeling, and just how much he loved her.
Once Jungkook’s ring was in place, Yoongi reached over and took her ring out of the box.
“We have been trying to decide who gets to do this for a while now,” he said with a wry smile, “Not even rock, paper, scissors could solve it in a satisfactory way. So we decided that all of us will get to put the ring on.”
The Muse wasn’t sure how they were going to pull that off, but she allowed Yoongi to take her hand. He leaned down to kiss the base of her ring finger before he placed the ring on the tip. Looking into her eyes and reaching into their connection, he slowly and meaningfully slid the ring all the way down, and then back up to the first knuckle.
Each man repeated the action, with Jungkook being the one to push the ring all the way down and leave it where it belonged. He intertwined their fingers and smiled.
Some unknown piece of the puzzle fell into place that night, leaving them all feeling complete and connected.

The Eight, Chapter 121
Chapter 121
The Muse was brought out of her reverie, again, by a strong contraction, reminding her that she was on a mission. Jungkook was closest. He heard her quiet whimper and was by her side immediately, wanting to help in some way.
“Food,” she stated in between deep breaths.
He frowned, “Yeppeun, didn’t that book say that you shouldn’t…”
“Jungkookie? I am going to be working very hard soon. I will need the energy. And if you don’t feedmerightnowISWEARTOGOD!” her voice had gotten a couple of octaves higher and her volume had everyone in the condo at attention as her words were being strung together.
He held his hands up in surrender, “Ok! Ok. let’s go see what we have.”
Since they’d been out of the country for over a month there wasn’t much on hand, and she settled for ramyen. It wasn’t much, but it was something. She did have to stop eating a few times to breathe through the pain, but eventually ate all of her noodles and broth.
Jungkook stayed close by, making sure to take care of every little thing she could possibly want, including rubbing her back through the contractions, trying to give her his healing energy. His over attention made her think of the night he had introduced her to his parents via video chat. It’d been a couple of weeks since they all found out about Petal, and he’d been making a huge effort with his wife, apologizing daily for every transgression he could come up with, while trying to keep a respectful distance until she was ready to forgive him.
To be honest, Jungkook was far harder on himself than she could ever be, and watching him over work himself as they practiced for their Saudi Arabian concert and upcoming finalies as punishment was upsetting.
“Yeppeun?” he came to her quietly after they’d gotten back to the dorm one evening, his exhaustion clear in the lines on his handsome face,
“Would you like to meet my parents? I’m about to video chat with them, and I know they would love to meet you.”
The Muse smiled sweetly and nodded her head. Jungkook’s huge smile looked relieved and happy as he reached for her hand, which came up automatically to meet his. He led her to his room and sat her in his lap in front of the computer so he could call his parents.
The visit went well, and his parents seemed like they understood a lot about their relationship. They’d already bought a few cute little outfits and were planning on putting together a box of gifts for their incoming granddaughter. The band’s schedule made it difficult to plan a time they could travel to meet in person, so they committed to video chat more often, and, as Jungkook’s mother said, “have a chance to get to know our new daughter”.
The Muse beamed. She felt acceptance flowing from the couple, and they treated her like she had been a part of the family all along. Once they said their goodbyes and Jungkook turned off the computer, he looked up at her and gave her a sweet little smiling kiss. His intentions were sweet and loving, and nothing more than just wanting to show his love and adoration for his wife.
“I know I have a lot to apologize for, Yeppeun,” He reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “I have had a lot of time to think since I made the biggest mistake of my life a couple of months ago. But I think that the greatest realization I have had is that we truly are here to serve you. It didn’t feel like that at first. But now I see it. My body is here to heal your body. My soul is here to be with and care for your soul. My whole being is here to take care of everything about you. My job is to make sure you are safe, healthy, fed and cared for. And, I know it’s not just me. All of us are here to protect your mind, body and soul.”
Jungkook gently wiped a stray tear away from his wife’s cheek before placing his hand over her heart, “And now, we have one more perfect little being to care for.” His large hand trailed down the center of her chest to rest on her pregnant belly.
It was all The Muse could do not to ugly cry at his sweet words. That was the very first time she’d ever thought about their situation in that way, and it felt so right. She’d always thought about being forced to be bound to them as tightly as she was as a punishment for her for disappearing for two hundred years.  It had never occurred to her that it might be a way for her Warriors to learn to think outside of themselves. That their having to take care of her every need wasn’t a handicap. Their relationships weren’t one sided. They all had something they brought to the table, and they were learning how to take care of each other in such a way that they were all thriving. She swore she could almost feel Sejong nodding his head in approval, and Min-ho letting out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding.
She cupped Jungkook’s cheek and looked into his eyes, opening their connection so she could share with him how much she loved him. And, although he still didn’t feel like he deserved her or her love yet, he shared the same with her. He felt like he needed her to understand what she meant to him before they could move forward. Get back to where they should have been, had he not allowed himself to be led astray by their well-meaning management. They were just doing their jobs, really. Making sure that the band was on track and successful. They knew better now. Everyone had learned so much over the course of this adventure with their Queen.
The Muse stayed with Jungkook that night. And, although he refrained from taking her against every available surface as he would have done in the past, he still let Passion take control and show his wife his overwhelming feelings of love and adoration with his body, overcoming his own exhaustion until he knew she understood from head to toe what he was trying to tell her.
“I love you, Yeppeun.” was all she heard in her head, over and over, until they were both left sated, tears of joy and relief cleansing their past wrongdoings, and leaving a clear slate they could start their lives together over with.

The Eight, Chapter 120
Chapter 120
She found all four of her husbands bustling around inside the baby room. Or, she supposed they could call it the birthing room for the time being. They were all a little bit panicked at the idea that their daughter would be there soon.
Yoongi, in particular, was stressed about the idea of a home birth, and had spent the last few months trying to talk The Muse into a hospital for the big day. Since that had failed, he spent a lot of time trying to make sure that the birthing room had every little thing they could ever possibly need in stock and within reach when the time came.
The Muse stood in the doorway watching them, remembering when she woke up in the middle of the night to Yoongi taking apart the crib so he could make sure it was put together the right way. Followed by the dresser, the changing table and the rocking chair. They didn’t sleep much that night.
“Yoongi? Love?” She’d asked as she watched him unscrew a leg of the crib, “You put this together the first time. It felt pretty stable when you made Jimin sit in it to see if anything was loose.”
“I know,” He grunted, “I just want to double check. What if I forgot something? I’d never forgive myself,” He muttered the last part as the leg was freed and he added the screw to the bowl full of screws and washers he had next to him.
Yoongi’s anxiety was getting to him, and she knew she needed to just be there to support him while he worked through it. So, she laid on the crib mattress that was on the floor by him and made sure he had water when he wanted it. She even took his phone and played DJ for him, trying to get him to smile and sing along with her selections.
They kept at it until the early hours of the morning. Well. He kept at it. She passed out on the crib mattress after exhausting herself with Eminem Karaoke.
Once he was finished putting the last of the furniture back together, Yoongi looked at his wife and couldn’t help but grin. She was curled in a ball as she tried to completely fit into the crib mattress. She’d apparently started snoring as she got further into her pregnancy, because he could hear the faintest rumble coming from her mouth that hadn’t been there before. She was also drooling on her arm.
He chuckled to himself and took a couple of extremely flattering pictures before he woke her up.
“Yeppeun?” He said in his low growl of a voice as he gently shook her shoulder. She grumbled and rolled onto her back, one arm over her head and the other resting on the upper part of the belly.
Her night shirt (his grey FG t-shirt), rode up to expose her upper thigh, and he had to stop and remind himself that they were in the baby room. There would be no sexy times in the baby room on his watch. And she was mostly laying on the crib mattress. No sexy times on the crib mattress, either.
It took all of his mental strength to reach up and shake her shoulder again instead of following his instinct up the inside of her thighs. It took a little bit, but he did finally get her awake enough to move to his bedroom without touching her inappropriately.
His resolve crumbled when she got to his room, though. The shirt flew off as she stumbled toward the bed and he watched her naked bottom as she crawled to the middle to snuggle in. When he stood at the side of the bed admiring the view instead of climbing in with her she turned her head, sleepy eyes barely open as she asked him if he was getting in with her.
“Yeppeun?”
His low grumble held a question she would have recognized immediately had she been a little more awake. As it was, though, she just answered him with a “Hmm?”
She didn’t see him take off his shirt. She didn’t see him toying with the drawstring on his pajama pants. She didn’t see him bite his lower lip as he thought about the last time he got to taste her, more than two months ago. Far too long.
“Can I touch you, Yeppeun?”
One of his hands rubbed up his chest and came to rest on his neck, suddenly parched for his wife. In the past he would have touched her, no questions asked. But after what Hobi told them in New Zealand about her inability to say no, he wanted to make absolutely sure she wanted him as badly as he wanted her.
“You’ve been touching me, Yoongi,” she grumbled, half asleep and not understanding his meaning.
“Yeppeun?” He asked again. This time she rolled in his direction and looked at him. As soon as she made it to her back, Yoongi held up his hand,
“Stop right there, Yeppeun.”
His eyes drank in every inch of her exposed skin,
“I want to touch you, Yeppeun. I want to love you. Will you let me?” He’d crawled up just far enough to be at her feet, eyes glued to the apex of her thighs as he fought to keep his hands to himself until she gave the ok.
Her lips tilted up into a small smile and she nodded her head as she whispered the word “Ok” to her husband, who gifted her with the biggest gummy smile she’d seen from him in a long time as he pushed her legs apart wide enough for him to fit in between them. Making sure to keep his full weight off of her, he crawled up to kiss her lips like he’d been dreaming about since the day they separated. Her hands came up to caress his face, run her fingers through his hair and glory in the feeling of being intimate with this husband for the first time in months.
The Muse brought her legs up to hook around his back, anxious to reconnect with him fully. Yoongi chuckled and pulled back from the kiss,
“No no, Yeppeun.” His lips couldn’t stay away from hers for more than a couple of words at a time, “I need to taste you first. I need to worship my Queen. I need you to know, inside and out, that Ferocious belongs to you and that I will be here to love and care for you. Mind, body and soul.”
As he finished the sentence, he connected with his wife. Yoongi wanted Yeppeun to feel him. He wanted her to know what she meant to him. His lips trailed down her neck and chest, stopping to sip on her nipples before moving down to her belly. He stopped and sat up on his knees with a sweet, soft smile on his face as he caressed the belly. Leaning down, Yoongi kissed the very center of that bump, letting the myriad of emotions he felt flow through their connection. The strongest emotions were pure, overwhelming love and devotion.
The Muse felt a couple of tears leak from her eyes as she took in everything he was showing her. She reached up to cup his cheek, and said,
“Yoongi. I love you.”
His eyes shone as he kissed her wrist, and then her palm before taking her hand and placing it over his heart and staring deep into her eyes. Even if they didn’t have their soul connection, there would have been no mistaking what he was saying with those eyes.
Yoongi loved every inch of his wife that night. No part of her was left untouched as he made love to her. His fierce soul took over as he conveyed his emotions through his body. When they were spent and exhausted, they fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms and minds. Their dreams took over where their bodies left off, leaving the couple feeling more connected than they had been in the first place.

The Eight, Chapter 119
Chapter 119
The Muse was surrounded the moment she got out of the car. Mobbed would be more accurate, she thought. Her husbands were pushing everyone out of the way as they made their way with her toward the dorm.
“Guys! Seriously? I’m ok,” she chuckled at them, trying her hardest not to get annoyed at their over attentiveness. She knew they were nervous, and was trying her hardest not to make it any worse on them than it was.
She was terribly uncomfortable, and just wanted a hot shower to wash away the day of travel, so she waddled off to do just that and left her worried husbands to their own devices. They could feel her, and knew that she needed a few moments to herself, despite their worry.
Also, despite the midwife’s thoughts on it, they went ahead and readied the bedroom she was supposed to give birth in, leaving their own luggage out in the living room to be dealt with later.
The Muse stood in the shower with her back to the spray, letting the hot water relax her muscles as she looked down at her belly. She sighed. As much as she wasn’t looking forward to the actual birthing process, she was definitely excited at the prospect of seeing her feet again soon.
“You ready for this, Petal?” she said out loud to the belly, “Feels like you’re going to get to come out and get all of those hugs and kisses we have been saving up for you very soon now.”
She breathed through another contraction and rubbed the belly, as it had been rubbed so often in the last five months. Tae hadn’t let any opportunity to get his hands on that belly pass him by. The Muse occasionally wondered if he even knew he was doing it.
Remembering the first time they had been intimate after they’d reconnected, she smiled. She’d promised to stay with him that first night back from their trip to New Zealand. As they got ready for bed, Taehyung announced there were no clothes allowed, and stripped down before jumping on top of his covers. He had a huge smile on his face as he lay on his side, head propped up on his hand, encouraging his wife to disrobe and join him.
Just looking at him and how he was watching her had tingles spreading across her body. His erection was proudly standing away from his body, obviously waiting for her attention. She’d forgotten how big he was, but her body didn’t mind one bit. The muscle memory of having him inside of her had her pussy softening and what felt like a dam of juices being released to ready herself for him.
As his wife moved to climb onto the bed, Tae bounced onto his back with a giggle and reached over to encourage her to sit on top of him. The Muse straddled him, rubbing her outer lips up and down on his cock, gasping a little as her clit took the stimulation of being rubbed along that thick stalk. Tae slid his hands to her sides, but his big hands ended up mostly holding her belly as he encouraged her to lift up enough to take him inside.
He was emotional as he watched his wife ride him, careful to make sure he had a good view of his dick disappearing inside of her with each of her downward strokes. Instinctively she reached out to connect with him, as she had every other time they had been intimate. Tae had to fight tears as he finally felt her. Inside and out. He felt their soul connection. He felt the tight wetness of her around his cock. He felt her body with his hands and mouth. His eyes feasted on every inch of her beautiful body. He felt like he’d finally come home, and he was never going to leave this place again.
Even after they’d gone several rounds, Taehyung couldn’t take his hands off of her. They lay wrapped around each other, basking in the afterglow of their reconnection, touching each other’s faces, tracing lips and noses, sweet kisses being shared between sweet words of love and devotion. And so far, he’d kept his word. Tae had never wavered. He happily stayed by his wife’s side, helping plan for their future together, and future as a family.
His family was thrilled to finally meet The Muse, and even more excited to meet the belly where their Petal rested. Tae was excited to see what Tannie would make of Petal. The fluffy pup was spoiled, and got most of the attention when he was around, but immediately understood his role as Soldier for The Queen and the little Princess. The Muse sat on the floor and let Tannie sniff around a bit, not being pushy or even petting him. She wanted him to make up his own mind.
He stood in front of her criss crossed legs, head leaning from one side to the other as he tried to figure out what he was smelling and feeling. It only took a couple of minutes before he was leaning in and sniffing at the front of the belly. He licked it a couple of times before settling down in The Muses’ lap, attention still completely on the little person he could smell but couldn’t see.
Petal was wide awake and fully aware that she had a new friend to play with. The Muse felt the tiny movements of excitement when Tannie had barked at their arrival, and could feel her happiness with the prospect of playing with him. It didn’t take long before Tannie jumped away with a yip, only to turn to growl and bark at the offending belly. Tae’s parents started to correct the pomeranian, but had their phones out to catch the action on video once Tae explained what was going on. In the end, Tannie was growling and nuzzling his face all over the belly at the same time, barking between licks.
Once again, the little princess had won over another fuzzy soldier that would be one of her best friends and protectors once she finally arrived in the outside world.
Tae’s family was so amazing. They, too, didn’t care who Petal’s father was. They were just thrilled to have a baby coming to the family. His parents even started calling each other Halmeoni and Halabeoji (grandma and grandpa) by the end of their visit. More plans were made to see them again, and The Muse was feeling much more connected to more than just her seven warriors when they left.
Another hard contraction brought The Muse back to the present. After breathing through that one, she got out of the shower. Although the hot water felt fabulous on her back. She might need to remember that for when she was really in labor. She decided to simply wear one of Tae’s huge button up shirts and nothing else. Even the thought of anything remotely snug made her cringe.
She waddled back out to the living area, on the hunt for a husband or warrior that could make her a snack before she tried for a nap. She knew where this day was headed, and knew she was going to need all the rest she could get.

The Eight, Chapter 118
Chapter 118
The furniture was, indeed, adorable, and now they had to deal with the issue of where to put it. One step at a time, she reminded her husbands as they debated on whose room would be taken over by baby stuff. It certainly didn’t need to be decided right at that moment. They were all lounging around after eating, resting and debating on whether they should sleep or power through to fix their jet lag faster.
The Muse was cuddled up with Yoongi on the couch. He’d insisted she sit across his lap so she could put her head on his shoulder and he could have a hand on her belly.
“Can I see her again, Yeppeun?” he asked with his lips resting against her forehead.
“OH! Me, too!” chimed in Taehyung from his spot by her feet. He sat with a pout and decided to rub her feet instead of fighting for more of her attention. He was going to have her with him that night, anyway.
“I’d like to see her, too,” Said Namjoon with a smile as he put his phone back in his pocket to give her his full attention.
Jimin sat up straighter and looked at his wife, “Um. Yeppeun?” he looked terribly uncomfortable, “Can I see her, too?”
She almost laughed. Like she would say no to something like that.
“Of course you can, Jimin.”
Jungkook also raised his hand, “Me, too.” and then he added, “please” as an afterthought.
It seemed everyone wanted to see Petal, and The Muse was all for it. She loved checking in on her daughter.
She connected with all seven of her Warriors and walked the flower path with them in tow. Their gasps were audible when they came to their little princess. Hobi made the universal noise for “CUTE”, and Petal responded by kicking her legs out in excitement. The Muse giggled, having felt the little poke when she kicked, but the seven men watching the baby were completely enraptured and in love immediately. Their coos and laughs spurred more excitement in the little one that had those seven men wrapped securely around her teeny tiny little fingers.
When they came back to themselves, Jimin and Jungkook broke down in tears, just as Yoongi and Taehyung had after seeing their daughter for the first time.
Jimin came to his wife, tears running down his face. He knelt down and laid his head in her lap as he continually whispered “I’m sorry.”
She ran her fingers through his hair to let him know she was there, and bring him a little bit of comfort. Jimin let out all of the emotion he’d been working through. Not just since he found out about the baby, but the last two months worth of sadness and regret.
Taehyung grabbed at Jungkook and pulled him over to sit on his lap, where the man immediately laid over and hugged her legs while he let out his pain and frustration. Yoongi wasn’t all that happy to be at the bottom of this pile, but he understood that the men needed to let it out so they could all get back to where they were supposed to be. This was cleansing. A way to clean the slate and start fresh.
Back where she was supposed to be, the men flourished. Their creativity exploded and they were as busy as they ever were. The managers did take note of The Queen’s effect on the men’s productivity, and were suddenly singing a very different tune with her. They made sure she was well tended to and cared for while her Warriors and husbands were busy.
They were heading into Award season, and were busy trying to find creative ways to keep her and the pregnancy well hidden from the public. Of course there were a lot of rumours, but the men never answered any questions about it, and neither confirmed or denied anything.
Their next comeback was slated to take place in February, and the plan was to spend the whole of January in the States recording for television shows, music videos, meeting with artists for collaborations, practicing their new choreography for the upcoming tour, performing at the Grammy’s and preparing themselves for the idea that their new arrival would be there soon.
The Muse tried her hardest not to be terribly whiny, but it was hard to do when one was that far along and mostly uncomfortable all of the time. Steve tried to make sure she had the most comfortable places to sit and lay while her men were working, and for that she was eternally grateful. But, with her more than 8 months along in her pregnancy when they arrived in the U.S. in late December, it was not an easy task.
The hot sun while they recorded the video for the “ON: Kinetic Manifesto” was a killer. But there was plenty of cushy seating in the old theater where they recorded “Black Swan”, and she did appreciate the outdoor setting for the “ON” video.
They spent a little time in New York recording content for a late night show before heading back to Korea. The flight from New York to Seoul was around 17 hours long, and it felt like forever, if The Muse was being honest. She was glad to be headed back, though. She felt huge and uncomfortable. She’d gotten up to pee for what felt like the 47th time in the last ten hours when she had her first contraction. Everyone was still sleeping, and she knew well that it could just be the stress of flying, so she climbed back into her seat bed and fell back to sleep.
Over the next few hours she had more contractions, and was having a few an hour by the time they landed. She hadn’t said anything to her husbands, yet. The airport was stressful for them, and she didn’t want them to freak out about her and the baby until they were on their way home. The Muse did pull Steve aside and let him know about the contractions before they were released by security to get to their cars. He had mild panic on his face, and she couldn’t help but laugh at him.
“Steve. It’s ok.” she said as she chuckled, “they aren’t that close yet. We have time. So, breathe for me, ok?”
He nodded, but she could also see that he wasn’t going to relax until they were safely away from there. Security surrounded her in an effort to keep the photographers at bay, and they made their way to a waiting vehicle she would share with Jinnie.
Her sharp intake of breath got his attention as they drove away from the airport, and she thought that the panic that took over his handsome features was comical.
“Jinnie!” she chuckled at him, too, “I’m ok! It’s just some contractions.”
After his panicked texting to the rest of her Warriors and husbands, he called the midwife. The Muse smiled at him as the midwife told him the same things that she had been saying. They were fine. Call when her water broke and the midwife would head over. The other six of her men were all in her head, all of them wanting to make sure she was ok, and all six panicking in their own way.

The Eight, Chapter 117
Chapter 117
Tae was texting with his parents as they had their breakfast, setting up a time when he could bring his wife over to officially meet them.
“And you’ll get to meet my Yeontan! He’s adorable and sweet. You’ll love him!” he gushed about his pomeranian.
“Mmm!” Hobi exclaimed with his mouth full of food. After a couple of chews and fumbling in his pockets, he was able to swallow and pull out his phone,
“Petal loves dogs!” He flipped through his photo album looking for the videos of Petal playing with Mickey,
“Do you remember the dogs at that first place we stayed here? Remember when they were growling and jumping around Yeppeun? That was actually Petal playing with them!” he found what he was looking for and passed his phone over to Tae. Yoongi stood behind them with his hand wrapped gently around the back of The Muses’ neck, his thumb rubbing up and down the side of her throat in lazy strokes as they watched a video of Mickey playing with the belly.
Namjoon came over and had his phone out with a video of Moni playing with her, too. Even Jimin and Jungkook had to smile and laugh along with the others as they watched the dogs' antics.
“I can’t wait for Petal to get to play with Tannie!” Tae giggled, rubbing his hands around the belly.
“Holly, too,” said Yoongi quietly before bending down to kiss his wife on top of her head.
Jungkook and Jimin didn’t quite know what to do with themselves as they got packed up and ready to go that day. Jimin spent the night talking with Hoseok, trying to work through his anger to get to the root of what he was feeling. He’d been so focused on the idea of fixing things with his wife that he was wholly unprepared for even the idea of a baby. He felt horrible for his reaction, but there was no way to take it back. All he could do now is move forward and try to be the best man he could be in this situation.
None of them were looking forward to their day of travel, but they knew that home was on the other side of it. This trip was a lot easier on The Muse than the week before, with two husbands wanting constant contact. She still felt depleted pretty quickly, but she had more options for getting what she needed.
Jungkook spent a lot of his travel time messaging with his father, working through his feelings on having a child. He’d spent the evening thinking and processing, and now he was ready to talk with someone. Jungkook knew they were supposed to have children together, but he hadn’t expected it so soon. His father reminded him that he wasn’t doing it alone. In fact, Jungkook had far more help than most men do, with three other fathers closely involved. He hadn’t thought of that. In fact, he’d always been sort of unhappy about having to share his wife with the others, no matter what he tried to tell himself. But now that he was facing the daunting idea of being a father, he could appreciate having the other men around.
All seven Warriors were more on edge than usual with their arrival in Seoul. The airport was always anxiety inducing, but they’d never had such precious cargo to worry about in the crush of fans. The security crews were all certain they would be able to get The Muse through the crowds with no problems, and Steve was feeling more aggressive than usual as he corralled her into the safety area before they began their final push to get out of the airport and into the waiting cars. She made double sure her tummy was hidden and that she was holding her backpack close to the front of her before they gave the ok to move.
The usual crushing wave of people came, phones and cameras flashing all over the place, voices yelling as they tried to get any of them to look up for the perfect shot. The Muse kept her head down and followed the guard in front of her as Steve covered her closely from the back. One fan pushed her way to be right up next to The Muse, hoping to reach her phone in to get a closer shot. Steve was having none of it. He hit the woman’s arm, causing the phone to go flying into the crowd, and a distinct ‘bang’ was heard as he pushed the woman into a perfectly placed garbage can.
The Muse had a terrible time trying to keep the smile off of her face at her powerful guard’s actions. Once they were safely ushered into the vehicle she was sharing with Tae, he turned and reached for her, wanting to make sure she was ok. Which was sweet, but unnecessary as she was laughing at what Steve had done. Part of her felt bad, sure. But sometimes, people needed to learn their place the hard way. Tae had been right behind her, and had seen the woman’s arms and legs sticking out of the can on the way by.
He reached his hand forward toward the front passenger and made sure to shake Steve’s hand for a job well done.
Despite sleeping most of their time away on the airplanes, the group was exhausted when they arrived at the dorm. Some kind individual had ordered food beforehand and dinner was waiting when they filed in. The Muse noticed a few large boxes in the living area off of the kitchen that weren’t there when they left.
“Ah! They’re here!” Namjoon said excitedly as he went to look at the three cardboard containers, “Yeppeun! Look! It’s the crib, matching changing table and dresser I ordered!”
The men all filed over to look at what Joon had deemed “Too cute not to buy” while The Muse got Steve to hand her one of the food containers and a pair of chopsticks. She could look at whatever he bought later. Food first.

The Eight, Chapter 116
Chapter 116
The Muse stayed with Jinnie and Hobi as planned that night, much to Tae’s displeasure. She had to promise him several times that she would stay with him once they were back in Korea before he relaxed and went to the room he shared with Jimin. He had not been able to stop touching the belly after they got out of the bathtub, which made it difficult to dry off and get dressed.
Yoongi wanted to help, handing her a towel as she stepped out of the bath. It took everything he had to keep the impure thoughts at bay once she stood naked before him. Growing belly or not, she was still the sexiest woman he had ever laid eyes on. As it turns out, it’s easy to ignore a naked man in the room when your equally naked wife is standing in front of you. Yoongi kept trying to look away or at the floor, but his eyes kept creeping up to look at her.
“Yeppeun?” he asked as she pulled on her pajama pants,
“Hmm?” The Muse looked up at him… directly at him. She even held the eye contact and didn’t try to make any excuses so she would have to look away. Yoongi took a moment to glory in having that little piece of their old relationship back.
“Can… “ he ran his fingers through his hair, pure nerves as he shot for the moon, “Can I kiss you?”
She took a moment to look at his face, almost as if she was re-memorizing his features before nodding. Yoongi almost cried from relief. Noting he’d cried more that night than he had for several years combined, he moved forward and slid his hand along her cheek and around to cup the back of her neck. He wasn’t sure if he could say what he wanted to say out loud, so he opened their connection and poured everything into her mind and lips. This was their first kiss in more than two months, and he was going to make it count.
The kiss was almost overwhelming, and yet absolutely welcome to The Muse. She’d missed this. Missed Yoongi. Missed his ferocity when it came to her.
The two stood, lost in their connection of souls and lips, while Taehyung finished getting his clothes on. He smiled at the sight of Yoongi and Yeppeun kissing, and decided to patiently wait for his turn to get a kiss by playing with his new favorite little person. He hugged up behind The Muse and wrapped his hands around her middle so he could caress her belly.
She broke out into a fit of giggles, effectively ending their kiss. But Yoongi wasn’t mad. How could he be? Right at that moment, he was walking on clouds and ready to take on the world. He smiled at her and gave her one more little peck on the lips before allowing Taehyung to turn her around so he could dive in for his kiss, too.
Hobi came to bed late, having stayed up most of the night talking things out with Jimin. He felt like the man was headed in a positive mental direction when they called it a night. He did wish he could talk to Jungkookie, though. He’d always preferred to keep to himself when working through big things. The thought made Hobi sigh. Hopefully Joon would be able to get him to talk.
Hoseok felt like he’d blinked when he was jolted awake by a heavy body climbing over him. Peeking open his eyes, he saw daylight and Kim Taehyung.
“The hell are you doing?” Hobi croaked out as he tried to protect himself from Tae’s attack.
“I wanna cuddle with my wife,” the man mumbled as he tried to wiggle himself in between Hobi and The Muse.
With an annoyed sigh and a “for fuck sake”, Hoseok got out of the bed and decided to get a couple more hours in the bed Tae was supposed to be in. He had no idea how Yeppeun and Seokjin were able to sleep through all of that. Jimin peeked through one eye to see what was happening when the bed dipped, but fell back to sleep quickly. Their flight was a late one, and they still had time to sleep.
Tae was happy, and surprised that his little coup worked. He snuggled in close behind his wife and placed his hand protectively over the belly and little Petal before falling back to sleep.
It was early afternoon by the time they all woke up. Tae was being ultra possessive, insisting The Muse sat on his lap whenever they sat anywhere and staying glued to the back of her body when she moved around.
“Tae, it’s going to be hard to eat the cereal if I have to sit in your lap,” she complained, but he wouldn't hear it. He had a wonderful time sharing with Jungkook and Jimin the joy and wonder of seeing Petal, and tried to get them to touch the belly repeatedly as they got ready.
“Tae, please,” The Muse tried to reign him in a little bit, “They will when they’re ready. They aren’t ready yet. Don’t try to force it, ok?”
He just smiled big and kissed her before going back to his story of what an incredible experience it was for him, and that he couldn’t wait for them to do it, too.
“Yoongi did it!” he said when he saw the other man make his way to the fridge for iced coffee.
“It wasn’t just me! Ask him.”
Jimin and Jungkook looked to the elder to see what he would say. He took a sip of his coffee and then raised his head to make eye contact with the both of them,
“It was a life changing experience,” he smiled, “For the better.”
Again, The Muse broke in, not wanting them to feel rushed or pressured.
“I understand if you need time. It’s ok. I needed time at first, too,” she tried to reassure them, “It is a beautiful thing, to be able to connect with our daughter,” both men flinched the tiniest bit, “but you don’t need to do it today. Take your time to work through your feelings.”
Jungkook was staring at her in disbelief.
“You would allow us time to work through our feelings?”
“Of course!” she answered, “Why wouldn’t I?”
“After everything we’ve done. After all this time has passed and we have treated you so badly, you are still trying to protect us,” he shook his head. “We don’t deserve it, Yeppeun.”
“Jungkook,” she inhaled deeply as she tried to collect her thoughts, “Yes. You have hurt me. Terribly. You have treated me horribly. But this isn’t all about me. We need to work on us, and work on our relationships in order to be the best parents we can be. And, maybe while we are working toward that goal, we will figure out how to be the best soul mates we can be.”
She gave him a shy, hopeful smile.
All he could do was nod. He saw her point. So did Jimin. They were just unsure if those were goals they would be able to attain, and scared to take the first steps they needed to take in order to get there.

The Eight, Chapter 115
Chapter 115
They stayed like that until the water started to cool. Tae felt complete again as he held his wife, and had a lot of fun rubbing the baby belly. It was so cute!
“How do you know it’s a girl?” he asked as he rubbed his hands all around with a huge smile on his face, “I could barely tell it was more than a blip in that picture.”
She giggled at that, “I can connect with her. That’s how I know.”
She told him about how she walked the flower path and saw the baby on her little bed of petals, and explained that that was how Jinnie, Hobi and Joonie started calling her Petal.
Tae nuzzled his face into his wife’s neck and asked,
“Can you share with me what you see?”
The Muse nodded, “Probably. If I could share that vision with you guys, I don’t see why I couldn’t share what I see when I connect with Petal.”
She connected with Tae, and noticed that feeling of being home. His arms wrapped a little tighter around her and he kissed the side of her neck, “I feel it, too, Yeppeun.”
She reached her hand up to caress his cheek as she closed her eyes and walked the flower path to her little one. She heard Tae’s gasp when they came to the spot where they couldn’t go any further and saw the tiny baby on her little bed of pink petals. She was awake now, but feeling content, and trying to suck on her fist.
Tae was in awe. All it took was this one look and he was instantly in love. It didn't matter if this child had his DNA or not. This was his daughter, and he was going to give her the world, the moon, the stars… Everything.
Yoongi stood in the living room. He’d been pacing and muttering to himself in between encouraging words from Seokjin and Namjoon. They both seemed pretty positive about the idea of a baby. But they would be, wouldn’t they? It wasn't theirs. He caught his reflection in the glass of the window and noticed that his hair was sticking out at all ends from running his hands through it so many times.
“Yoongi?” Seokjin asked in a low voice, trying to get his attention.
‘Yeah.” it sounded more like a non-commital noise, but Seokjin had been around him long enough, he knew what it meant.
“Do you love her?” he asked.
Yoongi stopped his pacing and turned to face the man, a vehement “Of course I do!” came from him without thought. He didn’t have to think about it, he knew he loved her down to his bones.
Seokjin’s head tilted to the side and he said, “Then nothing else matters. You love her. And you’re going to be a father,” like it was obvious, “Don’t overthink it.”
The man knew Yoongi too well.
With a deep, fortifying breath, Yoongi turned and followed the same path as Taehyung.
To his wife.
Yoongi slid quietly into the bathroom and took in the sight of Tae and their wife in the bathtub. He felt a little bit like an imposter as he watched Tae speak quietly in her ear. Taehyung noticed the movement out of the corner of his eye and picked his head up to greet the man,
“Hyung! Come in! Do you want to sit in the tub with us? We can make room on the other end.”
Yoongi turned a delicate shade of pink and declined the offer, absolutely not ready to think about the idea of being naked and in a bathtub with another man. Even if his wife was in between them. That thought brought him up short. He would have to revisit that idea at another time.
Taehyung excitedly told him about how cute the bump was and how Yeppeun was able to show him the baby and that he needed to walk some flower path with her.  He was talking so fast that Yoongi had to hold up his hand and ask him to slow down a bit.
Yoongi was feeling apprehensive about the idea of seeing the baby. He also noticed that Yeppeun hadn’t said anything. She sat quietly in the bathtub, watching him and his reactions. She didn’t look angry, and he thought that was an improvement. Even if he felt like he deserved her anger.
“Hyung Hyung! Come here!” Taehyung beckoned him to come closer. Yoongi was uncomfortable, but moved toward the couple, curious as to what the younger man could want.
When he was close enough, Taehyung grabbed his hand and pulled it down into the water and placed it directly on their wife’s rounded belly. It felt firm. Much harder than he remembered her stomach being.
Tae hadn’t given Yoongi a chance to pull up his sleeve before pulling his arm into the water, but he barely noticed. His whole being was focused on the feeling of that belly, and what it represented.
“Do you want to see her?” his wife asked quietly as she watched him.
Yoongi couldn’t hold back the tears in his eyes when he nodded his head, not trusting his voice to say the word.
He felt Yeppeun connect with him, and then saw a garden path filled with flowers. His eyes fell on the tiny baby laying on flower petals and saw how happy and sweet she was, and he broke. He felt like his whole existence had shattered and was being reformed, stronger and more resolute, surrounding this little human being.
And, like Tae, Yoongi cried. He kept his hand firmly on the belly, laid his head on the side of the bathtub, and cried. He felt Yeppeun’s hand caress his as she tried to comfort him, even if he didn’t feel like he deserved comforting.
Once he cried it out, he looked up with his watery eyes and slid his wet hand up to her face. He cupped his wife’s cheek and told her how much he did love her and just how precious she was to him. How he was going to take such good care of her and learn how to be the best husband and father he could possibly be.
Tae nuzzled his face back down into her neck and nodded along with everything Yoongi said. Once the elder was finished talking, Tae repeated the words and held her even tighter.
“We have not been good husbands, Yeppeun.” Yoongi said as he slid his hand back down to the belly, “But we are going to be.”
The Muse was scared, if she was being honest. They had hurt her so badly, and they could so easily do it again. But they needed to move forward, together, as a family. And Petal needed to get to know her daddies as well as she was getting to know her uncles. She thought about the vision Sejong gave her, and knew that in order to feel that level of serenity and peace, she needed to forgive her husbands and let them back into her life, and heart.

The Eight, Chapter 114
Chapter 114
The seven men sat in the living room of that airbnb, four of them in shock and three of them caught between wanting to protect their Queen and their niece, and taking care of these men that had become their brothers over the last decade.
Yoongi suddenly jumped up from his seat and ran downstairs, only to reappear with the envelope their wife had given them more than two months prior. They were all silent as he tore the top open and pulled out the sonogram picture of a tiny human with the words ‘Bangtan Baby’ written across the top with little hearts drawn on the side.
Yoongi’s hand covered his mouth, and a quiet sob shook his shoulders as he took it all in. He was going to be a father. He’d treated his wife so horribly, and she’d been going through all of this without him.
Tae reached up and took the sonogram from him as Namjoon pulled the crying man into a hug, tears forming in his own eyes at the emotion his friend was showing. Tae held the photo and ran his finger over the little blip as his own tears started to flow. There was a feeling growing in his chest he couldn’t quite describe. This little blip was making him a father. This little blip needed him and his protection.
Jimin sat on the arm of the couch next to Tae and looked down at the picture. He knew he’d reacted badly, but he felt like he was being backed into a corner. And why were they just finding out now? He didn’t know much about pregnancy, but he did know that she was pretty far along. He sighed, knowing as much as he’d like to blame her for everything, he’d brought a lot of this on himself. He ran his hands through his hair for what felt like the millionth time in the last half an hour. Fuck.
Jungkook was scared. He felt like he could barely take care of himself, how was he going to take care of a baby? How in the world could he be a father right now? What was he going to do? He’d been staring at the floor in front of him when Tae handed him the picture. The picture of their baby. As he looked at that little blur of a dot Jungkook felt his world tip on its axis, and he felt like the biggest asshole on the planet. He’d left his wife, and she’d been going through all of this without him. Tears fell. How could he even start to make it up to her?
Seokjin cleared his throat to get their attention. He felt for them. He knew they weren’t bad men, they’d just allowed themselves to be led in a bad direction.
“Yeppeun has an appointment in a couple of days for another ultrasound.”
He couldn’t help the small smile when he added, “It’s pretty neat to see Petal, and to hear her heartbeat.”
“Yeah!” Hoseok added excitedly,  “Seokjin-hyung bought a little machine so we can listen to her heartbeat whenever we want to. Maybe we can listen before we leave in the morning,” he said optimistically.
Yoongi wiped his eyes and took a deep breath before he asked, “When and where?”
“Two days after we get back. At the dorm,” Seokjin answered.
“The dorm? Did you find a doctor that will travel for that?” asked Yoongi.
The three warriors looked at each other. None of them were excited about being the one to break the news to the group's biggest worrier about Yeppeun choosing a home birth with a midwife instead of going to a hospital.
The information went over just as well as they thought it would,
“What?” Yoongi’s voice barked louder than it had throughout this entire ordeal, “Home birth? Is she crazy?! No. NO.”
He had started pacing, mumbling about not being able to handle that sort of thing.
Jungkook needed time. He got up and went down to the room he was sharing with Namjoon, wanting to be alone as he thought about everything. Not just from that night, but from the entire journey he had been on from the moment The Muse was brought to them until this point in time. Maybe he could make sense of it all.
Jimin needed to cool down. He bundled up in his outdoor gear and went out into the cold. The crew had dispersed, so there weren’t many people milling about, leaving him free to breathe in the cold air and try to clear his head. His inner musings were interrupted by Hobi. Always the caretaker, he suggested they sit in the hot tub and talk about it. Jimin needed to talk his way through his muddled brain, and he trusted Hobi. He was glad the man had been there for his wife. If anyone was going to take good care of her and the baby in his stead, it was Hoseok.
Tae couldn’t sit still anymore. He needed to do something. Anything. On a whim he stood and headed to find his wife. Yoongi watched him, knowing exactly where he was going.
The Muse was sitting in the large tub, curled up as much as she could be with her head on her arms. She was trying to relax and breathe deep, and decided to check on Petal, who was sleeping at the moment. She was growing so much every day. The Muse was so lost in her thoughts while watching her daughter that she didn’t hear the shuffling noises of Tae entering the bathroom. She didn’t realize he was there until she felt him step into the tub behind her. Her head popped up in surprise and she turned to look at him, eyes wide. He silently slid his legs around the outside of her and wrapped his arms around his wife, pulling her back to his chest and burning his head in her neck as he started to cry.
She brought her hands up and caressed his arms while he cried it out, bringing him more comfort than she ever could have known. As the tears subsided, he moved his arms and slid his hands down to her belly. His big hands covered most of it as he touched and caressed the bump, whispering his apologies for being an idiot and leaving her. Begging for forgiveness.
The Muse felt her own tears fall. Relief and worry. Love and pain. In that moment, she felt everything. But, more than anything, she concentrated on the feeling of her husband holding her again, and the fact that this time she wanted him to.

The Eight, Chapter 113
Chapter 113
Four sets of eyes were glued to the unmistakable belly that took away any doubts about there being a baby in there, and their faces showed the myriad of emotions they were going through. The Muse wanted to cover the belly again in an effort to protect her little one, and placed her hands around the sides to cover as much as she could.
Hoseok stood and reached for her, he took her hands and kissed her fingers as he tried to reassure her and calm her fears.
Jimin was angry, though. His temper spilled over as he took a deep breath and accused her of getting pregnant on purpose again. This time, The Muse let her temper fly. First she grabbed her juice bottle and threw it at his head, then the full water bottle next to it. The water bottle did hit home, but she didn’t care. She was in a rage now and reaching for anything she could get her hands on. She threw Jin’s phone, another water bottle and reached for Joonie’s beer bottle before Jinnie had his arms around her in a bear hug from behind, holding her arms down and trying to calm her anger.
Jimin opened his mouth to say something else that was sure to piss her off when Hoseok jumped in,
“Jimin-ah!” he barked. The man she called sunshine was gone. In his place was a man that demanded your attention and respect. Jimin’s words were pulled up short as he looked at Hobi.
“Hyung. She did it on purpose! We aren’t ready to be fathers!”
“And,” Yoongi chimed in, “why didn’t she tell us? She had to know before we went on break.”
Hoseok was losing his patience with the whole situation in general. He’d opened his mouth to answer them when The Muse, tears dripping down her face, said,
“I did tell you. You just didn’t hear me.”
“What?” asked Tae, lifting his head from his hands to look at her with shock, “When? I would have remembered something this important!”
She gave him a bit of a mocking look and answered,
“Do you remember that envelope I gave you when you broke it off with me?” All four husbands nodded. How could they forget? None of them had had the guts to open the envelope, scared that they would feel even worse about what they’d done,
“In that envelope is a sonogram picture. It’s labeled ‘Bangtan Baby’.”
Jimin grunted at that,
“So you got pregnant on purpose AND you didn’t even tell us about it?”
The Muse muttered a few choice swear words as she tried to free her hands from Jinnie’s embrace to throw a few more things at Jimin’s head, and Hoseok decided he’d had enough.
“Jimin!” he barked, making the man jerk to attention and look at him,
“How many times did your wife initiate sex with you?” Jimin looked flustered at that question and balked at the idea of answering.
“How many times Jimin?” Hoseok asked aggressively, “I’m guessing not that often. Would you like to know why that is?”
All of her husbands were hanging on to his every word now, while their wife whimpered behind him, pleading for him to stop talking. Hoseok turned to The Muse, still held in a back hug by Seokjin, and cusped her face. He smiled sadly and kissed her forehead before he said,
“They need to know, Yeppeun.”
She closed her eyes and sobbed. Jinnie turned her around and brought her in to hold her and try to comfort her as Hoseok went on to inform Yoongi, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook that their wife had no choice in the matter if they touched her with the intent of being intimate.
“In short, if you touch her and want to have sex, she will do it whether she wants to or not.”
They were horrified by that thought.
“But none of us would ever want to hurt her. None of us have ever hurt her!” Tae exclaimed, almost desperate at this point for her to know that.
The Muse made a sudden move She pushed away from Jinnie’s chest and wiped her tears away as she asked him to let her go. Once his arms dropped she turned, which returned their attention to the issue at hand… The belly and the baby inside of it.
“The important thing right now is that you know, and nothing has changed. My Warriors have been taking very good care of us, and they have agreed to allow me to continue to stay with them.”
She gave a watery little smile to Seokjin, Namjoon and Hoseok before looking back toward her husbands, who looked like they’d been hit by a truck.
“I’m the father, aren’t I?” asked Jungkook as his anxiety continued, “I mean, how could I not be? Do you realize how often we did it? Like, all the time,” he rambled as he processed the information.
“Do you know who the father is?” Yoongi asked.
The Muse nodded, “I do. I can see the family thread and where it leads.”
“Who is it?” Taehyung suddenly stood, unsure of what else to do with his body, but he needed to do something before he combusted.
The Muse took a deep breath and narrowed her eyes at him,
“I am not going to tell you that yet. Even my Warriors don’t know.”
Jimin scoffed. His anger had lessened some, but he was still far from calm,
“You don’t even know. How could you know? There’s no way to tell.”
She glared at him and repeated,
“I do know who the father is. And I am not going to tell you because, like it or not, we are all family. Any child I have will have four fathers. All of you are going to be fathers now, no matter who the DNA came from, and it’s important that all of you be invested in this baby before I give birth.”
They were all silent as they took in what she was saying.
“I also understand how important it is for you to pass on your family names. Don’t worry. I will make sure she has the correct name when she gets here.”
That information made them all inhale sharply as their eyes got wide. Tae was the first to say it,
“She? The baby… the baby is a girl?”
The Muse nodded and caressed her belly. She couldn’t help but smile a little at the thought of her Petal.
“We’ve been calling her Petal. She’s very sweet and loves her Uncles a lot. Uncle Joonie reads to her, and she listens carefully to every word. Uncle Jinnie sings her songs and makes silly noises. She gets very excited and happy when he’s around.”
She looked at Hobi next,
“And Uncle Hobi gets her all excited and jumpy when he plays with her. She’s been very curious as to why she can hear him, but he’s not playing with her this week,”
Forgetting about the other men in the room, Hobi laughed and crouched down to be closer to Petal before he placed his hands on each side of the belly and made his loud, silly noises that always got her so excitable. The Muse gasped and giggled as she felt the tell-tale little kick from the tiny baby inside of her. Joy radiated from her as she watched Hobi play with her daughter.
Across the room, the four husbands watched the scene in fascination, unsure of what to do or where to go from there. Their emotions carried across to The Muse, who raised her head to look at them. Her smile disappeared as she took in what they were feeling. Anger, fear, uncertainty, anxiety. She caressed Hobi’s cheek and urged him to stand. With a sad smile she quietly told him that she was going to take a bath and get ready for bed. Without looking at her husbands she made her way to the bedroom she was sharing with Jinnie and Hobi and the ensuite bathroom, careful not to latch any of the doors as she tried to find a little privacy and a moment alone to work through everything that had just happened.

The Eight, Chapter 112
Chapter 112
Jimin and Taehyung made a delicious dinner to celebrate their last night in New Zealand, and the beer was flowing freely amongst the group. Joonie made sure The Muse had plenty of orange juice and water on hand, and while the group played UNO again after dinner, she curled up (as much as she could) on the couch with her drinks and Jinnie’s ipad to play games and entertain herself.
Jinnie came over after he laid out his last card and sat on the couch, leaving enough room for The Muse to lay down and put her head in his lap. He pulled out his phone and was scrolling with one hand, slipping his free hand under the bottom hem of her sweatshirt to caress her belly. The remaining players also made their way over to the living area as they, too, laid their last cards. Yoongi ended up taking the loss that round and had to buy dinner for everyone as a punishment.
All of them were able to take the mics off and relax for the night. Most had their phones out as they kicked back around the coffee table, talking about nothing and everything while they took in their down time and wound down from their day. Jungkook and Jimin were sitting on the stone ledge for the fireplace watching a video on Jimin’s phone, Joonie and Hobi were in the comfy chairs to the side and Yoongi and Tae were sitting on the couch opposite The Muse and Jinnie.
Tae seemed lost in thought as he stared at his wife. Watching her was his favorite pastime. He liked watching her facial expressions. He even found that, when he paid close enough attention, he could see when one of the others was connecting with her. Like right at that moment, she was quiet and looked like she could fall asleep at any time, but the smirk on her face told him that someone said something funny to her. Glancing up he also saw a smirk on Seokjin’s face, affirming his conclusion.
She reached out for her bottle of juice on the table, making Tae think about why she hadn’t had anything to drink with them on this trip. He knew she liked her wine, and had even found a few beers they could enjoy together. No one had mentioned why she suddenly had an aversion to it. He thought back, remembering his time with her on this trip, wanting to savor it since he didn’t know what would happen when they got back to Korea. Then he thought about Namjoon insisting she drink decaf coffee. She never drank decaf, why would she start now?
And Joon constantly making her eat vegetables. Veggies are good and all, but raw veggies all the time? He would have to get her some dip or something when they got home.
Their time at the playground came to mind. He still wanted to know why Seokjin was so mad about her playing on the toy. It was so odd. There were so many things that were odd about this trip. He was really going to have to have a chat with Jiminnie about it later.
Tae noticed how Seokjin’s hand had made its way underneath the bottom of her sweatshirt and seemed to be rubbing her stomach in a circular motion. Was she not feeling well? Jiminnie said that she’d gained a little weight, and he’d seen she was a little bigger around the middle. And Namjoon wanting to take pictures of her showing her stomach….
Tae stopped breathing for a whole minute as he processed all of those things. When he was able to breathe again, his breaths were hard and fast, and he felt as though his heart was going to pound up through the top of his head.
Yoongi looked at Taehyung. He’d noticed the younger man’s breathing change and a look of panic on his face,
“Taehyung-ah? Are you ok?” he reached a hand over and touched Tae’s leg, hoping to comfort him and find out what just happened in his head.
Tae’s eyes never left The Muse, though. She’d glanced up at Yoongi’s words with a concerned frown on her face.
It took a moment, but Tae found his words and loudly exclaimed,
“OH MY GOD!”
The rest of the men all looked at him, a wave of concern coming from every one of them. Jimin stood, intent on making his way over to his friend to help.
“OH MY GOD!’ Taehyung yelled again, “OH MY GOD! YOU’RE PREGNANT!”
The husbands all looked at him like he was crazy before glancing over to The Muse. She laid her head back down on Jin’s lap, and looked almost unfazed at her husband’s meltdown.
There was a moment of shocked silence before Hoseok let out a relieved sigh,
“Ugh. It’s about time.”
“Wait, what?” Yoongi all but growled at him, “What are you saying? Is she actually pregnant?”
The Muse sighed and sat up, set her juice bottle on the table and tried to take a moment to think about the right way to handle this.
Jungkook brought his hands to his face, a look of horror etched there as he seemed to be near tears,
“No. No no no. This can’t be happening. It’s mine. It has to be mine. Oh my God this isn’t happening. I’m too young to be a father! I can’t do this. Oh my God.”
Yoongi stared silently at his wife for a moment before asking,
“Is it true, Yeppeun? Are you pregnant?”
She nodded slowly, not trusting her voice to do the work for her at that moment. The feelings she felt coming from them were varied but severe.
Yoongi ran his hands over his face before raising his voice the slightest bit,
“Why didn’t you tell us!” His tone was accusatory, “How far along are you?”
“Se…” she had to stop to clear her throat, “About seventeen weeks.”
Anger radiated off of Jimin as he stood near Taehyung, who was leaning down with his head in his hands,
“You did this on purpose!” Jimin accused, “You got pregnant on purpose!”
That brought The Muse to her feet, ready for the fight,
“On purpose? Why would I want to bring an innocent baby into this mess we have, Jimin?” she yelled, not even bothering to hold anything back now,
“Why would I want to bring a baby into a place where I have no stability? No real place to be? Where I have to argue with Uncle Joonie not to buy baby furniture because I don’t have a place to put it?”
“Didn’t work,” Joonie piped up from his chair, “I bought it anyway. It was too cute not to.”
She growled at him in frustration.
Hoseok leaned forward and said,
“Show them Petal, Yeppeun. Take the sweatshirt off and show them.” He gave her a reassuring smile, sure that if the men saw the belly they would fall in love just like he had.
“Petal?” Yoongi asked as The Muse pulled the sweatshirt over her head to show her husbands her body in a way they hadn’t seen in a couple of months. She had on a white tank top that hugged her now generous curves and a prominent belly that they couldn’t explain away. There was their undeniable proof that she was, in fact, pregnant.
