It’s the Holiday Season
Tumblr media
People are traveling all over from the hub of transport in NYC, Grand Central Station. For all of you going home, make sure you get to Grand Central at least 30 minutes before your train. The lines tend to be pretty long for getting train tickets plus with all the people running around it can get pretty overwhelming.
So get their early, grab your ticket, grab a pastry from Zarro’s, get in a comfortable seat on the train and enjoy your ride home to your loved ones.

Hey gang,
This past weekend was incredible. I worked with an amazing startup at Start Up weekend. I met some amazing people and learned so much from them. To get involved with Start Up weekend go to http://startupweekend.org/
I highly recommend this to anyone who is trying to learn how to manage a startup or has that entrepreneurial drive.

I saw forever and you should too.
Hey gang,
After a long night of playing music until 3:00 am, my parents visited and took me out to something I have been dying to go to, World Trade Center One.
The observatory deck opened 3 months ago to the general public and I have been eager to finally go. I would love to tell you all the details of the trip but I would just ruin it for you. There are a few surprises that really make this special. It is a breathtaking experience that every New Yorker and those visiting should experience for themselves. So I will just share a photo:
Tumblr media
If that view doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know you may be an alien or a robot, or in the case of Dick Cheney, both. People say the admission price is steep but I think it is all worth it once you get up there.
Admission price: $32.00 http://www.getyourguide.com/new-york-l59/new-york-one-world-observatory-entrance-ticket-t52132/
Address:  1 World Financial Center - Sandy Hook, New York, NY 10007
Some fine chaps are heading over. Another night of rabble rousing.
Best,
Ryan

Annnnd we’re back (In Wilton)
Tumblr media
Hey everyone,
I came back to Wilton today to celebrate my Uncle’s 86th birthday. It is crazy, he does not look or act like someone that age should. He is one of the most lively people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Today was great to spend time with the family. After eating enough food to kill a man, my brother, his girlfriend, and I walked over to one of my favorite places in Wilton, Weir Farm National Historic Site.
Yes they live within a five minute walk to America’s only National Park dedicated to painting. I know, it is spectacular. The park is named after Julian Alden Weir, who was a leader in American art and aided in the development of American Impressionism. The site includes 16 buildings, most of which are open to the public, and miles of hiking trails. I have gone there for walks with my brother for years and have many fond memories there. But today we walked to where they have apple trees and knocked a few down to eat (Hey don’t look at me like that, what are you, a cop?) Weir Farm is the perfect place to forget about everything and just sit for a while enjoying the moment.
Weir Farm Address: 735 Nod Hill Rd, Wilton, CT 06897
It has been great going from place to place but I think I will stay in the city for a while.
Best,
Ryan

Minks to sinks and everything else in between.
Hey everyone,
I decided to go away for the weekend. I wanted to experience a little bit of fall without hearing cars every second of the day. So after work I hopped on a train and went to my Aunt and Uncle’s home in Wilton Connecticut. I am extremely close with the two of them and I can not begin to explain how much they have done for me. Their home is my second home.
When I got in I had a fantastic home cooked meal with two of my favorite people and caught up on some much needed sleep. In the morning my Aunt and I had a plan to go do one of our favorite things. Buy a bunch of stuff we do not need. So we set out to the famous rummage sale, Minx to Sinks.
This huge tag sale has been going on since 1931, which goes to show you how much people in Wilton love tag sales. Seriously, if your ever in Wilton in the fall there is always at least 10 tag sales. But this one is the White Wale of them all.
The sale is always the first Saturday and Sunday in October. It is located outside of Wilton High School. All the proceeds raised go to the Family and Children’s Agency in Norwalk which helps families who are in need. So you can feel good about recklessly spending money on things you really don’t need, right?
So in the end I ended up with a pretty large haul:
Tumblr media
Canadian whiskey bottle: $0.50
Glass jar: $1.00
Mug from some random couples wedding: $1.00
Another glass jar: $1.00
Board for pans: $1.00
Cool wine cork board: $1.00
Amazing cat crochet piece: $6.00 (worth it)
Random mustard and ketchup holder: $1.00
Daryl Hall Record: $1.00
Get Up and Boogie Record (Bought as a joke, turns out I love it): $1.00
Jim Croce Record: $1.00
Barry Manilow Record: $1.00
Two other nameless records (Thought they would be worth something) : $2.00
Total: $18.50
Pretty amazing. Again for anyone who likes to buy cool but mostly stupid things, go here. You will find some great deals and there is actually a great deal of actually useful things like appliances for super cheap. So next October you know where to go.
Heading off to eat in some Italian food with some amazing folks. HEY, I’m walkin’ here!
Best,
Ryan

Got my mind on my money and my money on my mind.
Hey er’body. For the past week I have been at Advertising Week, a series of lectures conducted by speakers from some of the advertising industry’s most renown and successful companies. People from all over the world met in the Times Square area to listen to these incredibly intelligent individuals discuss some thoughtful insights and major changes that are taking place in the industry. I was able to win a ticket from my professor and I have to say it has been an amazing experience. I won’t be diving into all the details of the panels I went to on here because it diverges too far away from the purpose of this blog. If anyone would like to discuss what I learned I would be more than happy to talk and share my notes with those who are interested.
But I digress. While waiting for one of the events to start I saw a booth for one of the sponsors, TIDAL, which if you somehow don't know already is basically an online entertainment service. They were having a contest to win tickets to see the legendary Snoop Dogg (!!!) so of course I entered. I had to download TIDAL for a free trial, which I didn’t really want to do because to be honest I was told it was god awful. But you know what, after listening to Fetty Wap’s album and having audio so clear that I realized that he is speaking English and not the language from The Sims, it is actually pretty sweet. I entered the contest and yesterday I got an email saying that I’ve won. Holy shit was I excited.
Fast forward five hours later, I call up Dave and we head down to Webster Hall, which is one of my favorite venues to go to. We get into the concert and find out that it is an open bar. Amazing. Except for D’usse. D’usse is pretty disgusting. But hey, free drinks are free drinks.
Before the great Snoop came on, Casey Veggies, who contrary to popular belief is not a character on a children’s television show (or maybe he is?) opened up. He was pretty good, I enjoyed his energy and a few of his songs. After that Jidenna came on while I was getting some more liquids and he was sweet. At this point, most of the crowd of the thirty and older advertising professionals were all pretty trashed (as was I) so the vibe was definitely there. Favorite song was Classic Man. It made me want to put on my robe and sip champagne out of my mug, like a true gentleman.
Finally the original OG Snoop came out and the hype was REAL. Before he started spitting the rhymes, he hit a nice joint as pictured below:
Tumblr media
He played all the classics. It was pretty wild. This morning I woke up for my eight am class and oh lord was I having a real bad time. I was tired, sore, and someone requested me on Linked In. Networking, am I right?
Heading to Connecticut this weekend to visit family, which is always nice. It will be good to experience Fall for a bit outside the city. I will keep you posted, deuces.
Best,
Ryan

Chinese Food and a Super Moon
Happy Sunday. This weekend was a bit wild, but today was a pretty relaxing day. After realizing that the only food left in my apartment was oatmeal and celery, I decided it was going out to eat today. My room mate, close friend, and I took a journey downtown to good ol’ China town to get some grub. China town is a confusing place for the uninitiated, so after walking aimlessly for 15 minutes and helping an overly touchy old woman with her groceries, we finally found a place to eat. We ended up eating at Xi’an Famous Foods, an Asian restaurant chain that plays 90′s hip hop and serves rad meals. I ended up getting Concubine’s Chicken Hand-ribbed Noodles, a Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger, and a soy milk.
Tumblr media
Shortly after this picture I devoured this meal due to the emptiness in the pit that is my stomach. The noodles were delicious, the chicken was a bit bare, the soy milk was just weird, and the lamb burger was pretty good. All in all I’d give it a 3.5/5
After that we went over to our friends at La Petite Mort, a clothing store that specializes in rare and designer 90’s vintage clothing (translate from French to English for a laugh). I met the owner OJ a few months back on a street corner while I was giving out flyers for Just Salad and I complimented his bodacious shirt. Anyway, they have a lot of really cool events that I go to and today they were apart of the Orchard Street Block Party. It had live music, bocci, tons of food, and great deals. Although I did not buy anything due to the fact I am broke as hell, after talking with OJ for a bit and catching up he invited us to come back another time to party with him during after hours. So that was sweet.
At this point Chinese food was surprisingly still not enough to keep me sustained long enough to function properly. We decided that ice cream was the only logical and totally nutritionally responsible move to make. After walking a bit we stumbled upon The Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. And oh man, it was of delicious proportions. I got the Rocky Roadhouse which was made of, chocolate ice cream, roasted almonds, mash-mellows, and what I assume to be the happiness of children in ice cream form. This is where I would put a picture if I was not so intoxicated on the magical vibes this treat was giving me. If you love ice cream, no, if you love yourself, do yourself a favor and go to this place. It is a journey. 5/5
After that my room mate and I parted ways with our main homie and went grocery shopping. The last portion of the night was spent chanting super moon over and over again on our roof as we enjoyed the eclipse.
Today I spent $12 on the Chinese food, $6 on the ice cream, for a total of $18. Overall it was an affordable and fun way to end the weekend before the school/work week. Check out these places, they are definitely worth it:
Xi'an Famous Foods: 81 St Marks Place http://xianfoods.com/
La Petite Mort: 37 Orchard St http://shoplapetitemort.com/
Big Gay Ice Cream Shop: 125 E 7th Street http://biggayicecream.com/
It is late now and I would like to watch some Rick and Morty. Season Finale my glip-glops! I’ll talk to you later.
Best,
Ryan

I forgot the map at home.
Hello and welcome to The Disoriented Vagabond, a collection of the places I have gone and the stories that go with them. I have always been compelled to explore the Earth and seek out adventure wherever I think I will find it. While the memories of the places I have been and experiences I have lived are still fresh in my mind, I do not want to forget them as I get older. Thus I have decided to document my travels and stories in this blog to make sure that I will not forget.
I believe travel and adventure are immensely important for a rich life. Finding new places, meeting unique people, and learning something you had not known before all come from leaving your comfort zone and going somewhere different. This is the main message I wish to communicate through this blog which will hopefully inspire the cool people who read my ramblings to go out and see what Earth has to offer. I am an absolutely horrible navigator, yet I still manage to find adventure.
I have no idea where I am going but I will make sure to have fun on the way. Stick around and see for yourself.
Best,
Ryan
