The Den Fantasy League - Weekly Recap: Week Six
Gentlemen,
You’re probably wondering where I’ve been. I’ll admit, I’ve been absent but I’m back and I’m ready to break down Week Six.
Viking Quest v. Player 12 [AUTODRAFT BOT]
To be honest, this score snuck up on me on Monday night but we’ll get to that later. We started off the week with Philly RBs and I luckily got the best in that match-up. From there, I had big games from Rodgers, MY little Cooper Kupp, Fant, Colts D. For Dyl, it was a frustrating week as he actually had a good showing, just fell short in some areas. Big games from Mahomes, Jones, Ruggs, and LA D kept him in it. Coming down to MNF, Diggs put up almost 20 but it just wasn’t enough. Are the vibes no longer positive? The name change may say so.
Hank Mardukas v. Fire Jarn
This may be Robbie’s last game in the league. Not because he’s getting kicked out, but after this loss, he may just have given up. Rob was destined to win with Scott’s QB getting less than five points but his team certainly surged back. Other than Sterling, he owes his success to his RBs. Going into Monday night, Scott needed help from three players: Knox, AJ, and King Henry. Knox broke a bone, AJ played okay, but Derrick Henry ran all over Buffalo to end the night with 34.6 points. Robbie has turned his reputation around as he’s been competitive thanks to his combo of Burrow/Chase and he had good games from Regular Season Lenny and Sutton. What a heartbreaking loss for Rubbie.
Debbie Rowe v. Tua Days
Honestly, just a tough game all around. In our lowest-scoring matchup of the week, Vinny pulled out the win with less than 92 points. These two were waiting all day for Sunday night but first, they had to get the rest of their teams out there. Truthfully, thank goodness Jake had Thielen as he only had two other players in double figures. His three RBs combined for only 14.1 points and yet he was still in play for a win going into Sunday night. For Vinny, Tuddy Tom put up a good day and he then had three other players in double figures. On Sunday, it came down to Diontae v. Najee. Najee outscored Diontae by 7+ points and sealed the victory.
Wilmore Cinderella v. Team Timshel
For JP, his weekend wasn’t much better. He had four players in double figures in Lamar, Zeke, Andrews, and Boswell; however, despite winning 34-6, Lamar ended with only 11.78 points and ended the day with two INTs. Not ideal. Mike had a good week with two 20+ point-scorers at the top of his lineup in Kyler and Cook. He also had four other players in double figures to easily handle JP. Tough week.
Mr. Magorium v. Kalabar’s Revenge
You could say this was a spooky battle. Gabe went to visit G recently and perhaps he went to learn from Medium G. In this battle, the student did not surpass the master. Gabe missed 100 by 0.1 points and got there by big games from Hurts, Swift, Williams, Cook, and McPherson. Basically, everyone but his WRs and D made it to double figures. For G, I think I might be ready to put a lock on him defending his title from last year. Led by Dak, James, CeeDee, Gesiciki, and Tyreek, he may never be stopped. You just can’t beat auto-draft!
Virgin Red Roosters v. The Perfect Ten
In a Ryle boys matchup, E almost doubled-up Al in this matchup. Al had a rough week as his Chargers didn’t do much in their loss. You could argue his only real bright spot was Mixon It Up but there was nobody beating E this week. Thanks to 28+ performances from Allen and Taylor and big games from Herbert, Hop, Antonio Brown, and even his kicker had 15. A perfect week from E which is starting to bring the question from the league: is E locked into his third title?

The Den Fantasy League - Weekly Recap: Week Three
Gentlemen,
Boy oh boy. I’m just happy to be here but this season is starting to turn into an interesting one.
Mr. Magorium v. Viking Quest
It finally happened. I was wrong on a lock. I guess it’s only on games I’m involved with? Who knows, but I’m just happy to have the win. My week started off poorly with the #1 overall draft pick getting injured, only getting 5 points. However, the rest of the team stepped up thanks to big games from Godwin, New Orleans D, J Tuck, and MY little Cooper Kupp. For Gabe, his success was found in Alvin, MG3, Denver D, and Jalen (despite two picks in the game). A fun matchup!
Fire Jarn v. Team Timshel
An upset of the century. Mike, a previous champion, was off to a hot start this season. What happened this weekend, no one saw coming. Both of Mike’s starting RBs were out for the weekend and his two replacements didn’t provide much. Points were found in Kyler, JusJeff, Cooks, and McManus. Robbie can contribute his win, and his recent success, with his Bengals combo of Burrow and Chase. Luckily for him, Devante has turned his season around and put up an easy 25. It seems that Robbie ebbs and flows as the Bengals do. Is that good or bad?
Kalabar’s Revenge v. PVO
Barely missing out on the lowest point total on the week, Dylan didn’t have much going Sunday. Big games from Mahomes, Jones, Thomas, and a resurgence of OBJ are good contributions but the rest of the team fell flat. G, having reconciled with the spirits, bounced back in a big way. Points were present on G’s team with Dak, Saquon, JRob, Evans, and Arizona D. Will G need to make a weekly sacrifice to the spirits by eating a triple plain every week? Please share your thoughts in the chat!
The Perfect Ten v. Tua Days
Tuddy Tom was back like he never left. With Vinny’s namesake out for the immediate future, he continues to start Tom (like Tua was every a real option) who put up over 400 yards. Pair that with Najee, and Cleveland D, Vinny has been looking ahead to “beating Dylan with his own team.” For E, this was the lowest point total of the week and only two players were in double figures. Rodrigo had ten and Josh Allen’s rocket arm saved him from embarrassment. Vinny looks to continue his strong season and E can only go up from here.
Hank Mardukas v. Wilmore Cinderella
In a battle of two teams, how do I say… not looking great… battled it out this week. For JP, all but two of his players were in double figures and was led by Lamar, Zeke, and DK. Scott is now the only team winless on the season and is hoping for a bounceback week. He had big games from Henry, Mattison, and DJ but just couldn’t get it done. Should Scott start picking out his Cabana Day fit? It’s still too soon.
Virgin Red Roosters v. Debbie Rowe
Jake just won’t quit. What if I were to tell you Jake was 3-0? The only team to do so. He survived MNF thanks to a quiet night from Amari. Despite Al having a massive game from Herbert and a great week for Ekeler, he couldn’t succeed in taking down Jake. Jake was led by Tannethrill, Antonio, and Thielen and led him to a 3-0 start. Watch out, league. Jake may be unstoppable!

The Den Fantasy League - Weekly Recap: Week Two - ‘21
Gentlemen,
Week One brought us our first taste of the season. Week Two is where teams are starting to solidify and make their names throughout the season. On to the recap:
Viking Quest v. Hank Mardukas
It was a pretty good showing for Scott on the week thanks to Henderson, Moore, and some decent points from his defense. Then came the Titans/Seahawks game. Russ (23+) and Henry (44+) made a late surge for Scott but it wasn’t enough. For me, I had big weeks from Rodgers (26+), CMC (22+), McLaurin (22+), and MY Little Cooper Kupp (32+). Nice to get into the win column while Scott is still winless.
PVO v. Fire Jarn
The battle we always look forward to. I wish we had a graph showing win probability for this game as it went back and forth. Having 20+ points on your bench is never ideal but that’s where Dylan found himself. Dylan felt comfortable here and there but Robbie just wouldn’t go away. His defense and flex kept him in and a late touchdown from Burrow to Chase gave him hope. However, Dylan ran away with it on primetime performances with Mahomes (24+) on SNF and Aaron Jones (38+). A win that we’re used to: Dylan dominates Rob.
Tua Days v. Team Timshel
Vinny finished Week One on a high looking to start his revenge tour. Unfortunately, he ran into Mike’s team which provided a dominant performance. Consistency was key for Mike as he had 7 of his 9 players in double figures. Led by Kyler (33+), Buf D (19 and an insult to Tua’s injury for Vin), Cooks (18+), and Gronk (17+), he cruised to a nearly 40-point victory. For Vinny, Tuddy Tom continued his winning ways and ended with 29+ and had good games from his starting backs both amassing over 16 points (Chubb and Najee). As we’ll hear below, is Vinny looking too far ahead?
The Perfect Ten v. Kalabar’s Revenge
In the battle of roomies, G was coming off a win last week and there were murmurs that auto-draft G could repeat but those worries were put on hold for the time being after his performance. Frankly, if it wasn’t for Mike Evans (22) and CeeDee (13+), this would have been a complete blowout with those two providing his only double figures. For E, it wasn’t much better of a week but pulled away with performances by Pats D (16), Hock (16+), and Rodrigo (12). The real story here is G. Refusing to eat the triple-plain may do the haunting this year instead of Kalabar himself.
Debbie Rowe v. Wilmore Cinderella
This game was capped off with a Sunday night thriller that included four players in the BAL/KC matchup. Despite only having four players in double figures, Jake had big games from Diontae (15), Thielen (12+), and his first-round pick, Kelce (20+). Lamar did everything he could for JP on Sunday night but his 32+ just wasn’t enough to overcome Jake. He also had big games from Keenan (12+) and Zeke (16+) the back half of his team provided nothing. Debbie Rowe (2-0).
Virgin Red Roosters v. Mr. Magorium
Speaking of primetime thrillers, this battle found itself taking over Monday Night Football. Once again, Gabe found success in Hurts (21+) and his WR combo of Ridley and Julio both scoring 15.8. It then came down to Al on Monday night with Swift and Tonyon as they did everything they could to give Gabe a scare. Even Jake got in on it guaranteeing Tonyon wouldn’t score again. Brutal. For Al, Ekeler (18) and Lockett (27+) stepped up. Lockett may be the steal of the draft.

The Den Fantasy League - Weekly Recap: Week One - 2021
Gentlemen,
In the words of our esteemed colleague Dylan Tighe: “I hate fantasy football”. That means we’ve made it. We’ve finally been able to fill the void in our lives that brings us back to self-hatred and the hatred of this game we play. It’s only Week One, but it feels good to be back. On to the recap:
Team Timshel v. Kalabar’s Revenge
Last year’s champion returned to the field with his auto-draft squad for the second year in a row. Despite a good showing, his opponent, Mike, did all he could to end G’s extended win streak. Mike was led by Kyler (33+), Dalvin (17+), Jacobs (16+), and Cooks (15+) but couldn’t overcome the benching of RoJo after an early fumble. G found the bulk of his points on Thursday night with Dak (27+) and CeeDee (19.9) but was pushed over the finish line by Tyreek (31+). I think we can all agree that we don’t want to lose to a computer for the second-straight season.
Viking Quest v. Virgin Red Roosters
I won’t apologize for picking Aaron Rodgers. There was plenty of backlash from my pick and, frankly, I couldn’t be more confident in my pick. It’s only up from here! Despite a dismal performance from my QB1, my team stepped up with big games from CMC (23+), Miles (15+), MY little Cooper Kupp (20+), and Godwin (19). Even with a good game from Rodgers, it would’ve been difficult to beat Al with his world-class performance. Despite some low numbers on his team, his skill players stepped it up with big games from Mixon It Up™(23), Amari (32+), Lockett (24), and Swift (20+).
Fire Jarn v. Tua Days
Is anyone shocked Robbie’s team had the lowest point total on the week? Does he even know that Week One has started? I’m guessing not by how poor his team played. He had three players in double figures and was led by his Bengals combo of Burrow (18+) and Ja’marr (18+). For Vinny, he’s on an F-U tour this season. Vinny has found himself as the bridesmaid, never the bride when it comes to the playoffs. He seems like he can never get over the hump (and Gabe reminded him as such) but he’s thinking this may be the year. He was led to victory Tuddy Tom (27+), Waller (21+), and the Browns backfield combo of Chubb (21+), and Kareem (15+).
Emily Mayfield ~PVO v. The Perfect Ten
Our two-time champ took on the constant Cabana Boy contender and it played out how it had historically for the two. Dylan had four players in double figures but his cash-cow turned out to be Mahomes with 33+. His other double-figures players were Diggs, Thomas, and Damien. For E, he continued his success with a squad some are saying is guaranteeing him another championship. Led by Hopkins (23+) and Hock (21+), E ran away with his first win on Sunday night. Let’s also congratulate Ian on his new son, Beau. Gratz, E.
Hank Mardukas v. Debbie Rowe
Scott had himself a good season last year but that did not carry over to this year. Our lowest point-scorer on the season (technically), Scott never gave Jake a scare despite a big game from Russ (27+). Frankly, that’s about all the excitement Scott had on the week. Jake, with a team that could fly under the radar, blew Scott out of the water thanks to big games from Thielen (25+) and his first-round pick, Kelce (22+). Jake’s big question is: does Jameis get the start over Tannehill? You just gotta be prepared.
Wilmore Cinderella v. Mr. Magorium
Gabe will tell you he wasn’t worried about this game but he stayed up for all MNF when he said he was going to bed. Basically, he was a lock from the beginning (and may in fact be my lock for Week Two) thanks to his success from his contested draft pick Jalen Hurts-so-good (28+). He also had big games from Alvin (16+), MG3 (19+), and Tee (13+). For JP, he needed a massive Monday night but couldn’t get it from his Ravens trio. Really, thanks to Lamar (18) and Ty’son (16+) and the rest of the supporting cast, it wasn’t a blowout. Has JP missed his window for Ty’son?
Power Rankings and Final Projection Standings
After Week One, here’s where we stand:

Viking Quest (0-1) v. Hank Mardukas (0-1)

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Season Preview
Gentlemen,
We’ve finally made it. The season starts this Thursday and now we look forward to a long adventure that will include broken hearts, rejoicing, and choice words. I can’t imagine a greater group of men to compete alongside of, except Robbie.
As far as a draft recap goes, it may still be too early to see where teams land as the season progresses. There have since been some team tweaks here and there but some teams have already seen some significant losses.
For now, I’ll leave the below graphic to show what the respected FantasyPros.com has for the league power rankings heading into week one. These rankings will continue throughout the year so we can follow who is trending right or wrong.
As you can see, Mr. Tighe leads the league in the number one spot with Mr. Taylor holding down the fort in last. Is this Dylan’s year? It just may be.
As always, set your lineups accordingly and best of luck to everyone.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap - Season Finale and Recap
Fellas,
I’ll admit it’s taken me a while to get to this recap. I couldn’t face it. The championship was there and I blew it. I let the guy who auto drafted win. Will I go back and watch the tape? I don’t think I can. I may never get over this loss and I’ll be better for it. On to the final recap for the 2020 season.
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Viking Quest
It’s tough to admit you got ahead of yourself. That’s exactly what I did on Friday when Alvin had the game of his life and, quite possibly, one of the greatest fantasy performances of all time. There obviously was some reality on Sunday but guys like Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Kelce, and Dobbins gave me more confidence. Then, it got ugly. Keenan Allen didn’t play, Jalen couldn’t repeat his performance, and DJ fell flat. As is that wasn’t bad enough, then came the now JJ Watt-less Texans to murder me. At first, there was some concern but then that concern turned to full-on panic as they kept bleeding points to the CINCINNATI BENGALS. The Bengals ripped my heart out. For G, it was slow and steady wins the race and that’s how things turned out. Despite a slow start, it was easy-street for G with big games from Rodgers and Engram. To seal his victory, monster performances from Davante (duh) and my new sworn enemy, Mike Evans. G didn’t even need to play his kicker because of the -9 my defense put up.
All in all, congrats to G on his win. GG.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Week 13
Fellas,
We’ve made it to the playoffs. Unfortunately, not all of us could make but we’ve arrived at the part of the season that really matters. Go 3-0 and you win it all. Is it that simple? Not at all.
Viking Quest v. Perfect Ten
Here’s the summary: I beat E but should I have? Obviously, we’ll get to seeding later but is this a game I should have tanked? Did I waste too many points? Only time will tell. E, unfortunately, seems to have caught the injury bug at the wrong time. The good news, he gets CMC back in time for his quest for a third title. Dynasty?
Hank Mardukas v. Mixon It Up
Scott still didn’t eclipse 100 for his ninth straight week and find himself going into the bracket playing excellent defense I suppose. For Robbie, he officially becomes our Cabana Boy. Are we really surprised? He’s gone absent from the group chat; is it for shame or a lack of care? I wish I knew.
Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium v. Team Timshel
Mike came out flat and we hope that it doesn’t become a trend moving forward into his first matchup. What is interesting is that his recent trade seems to be paying off. Did he sell Tractorcito at an all-time high? Gabe continued to steamroll the league and, frankly, I don’t see how he can be beaten. He might be my pick to win it all.
Wilmore Cinderella v. 11-4-1 PVO
In another seeding game, JP did everything he could to take. Unfortunately, Dylan’s team decided to let him down one last time with Zeke teasing the goal line only to come up short. JP’s team seems to have caught the injury bug but he’s still my favorite to win it all. For Dyl, he’s just happy to see a tough season end. Maybe next year will finally be the year…
VRR v. Kalabar’s Revenge
In some sense, this game became a seeding game for G to hold onto his #1 seed. What we didn’t know at the time was Al had a great chance of sneaking into the playoffs. However, it was his Pitt D, the #1 D, that let him down. ED, much? G keeps rolling with a triple twenty across the board and now finds himself matched up against the 8 seed.
Debbie Rowe v. Tua Days
Speaking of 8th seed, this game came down to Tuesday night (*Berman Voice* HHHHUUUUUHHHHHH?). With Al losing, Vinny knew going into the late MNF game: win and you’re in. Little did he know that Jake’s team fought tooth and nail to give him the victory. Jake was betrayed by a tummy ache in KC that left his #1 pick sidelined to keep Vinny’s lead comfortable. Claypool didn’t show up on Monday night but DraftJoshAllen.com did by putting up 30+ to bring Jake within 6 points. J Tuck teased Vinny only to give Jake 9 points and the playoff birth.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Week 12
Fellas,
We’ve made it. The final week. There are some teams locked in and some teams fighting for their playoff spots. It may be the final week but there’s a lot of moving pieces still to fall into place.
11-4-1 PVO v. Viking Quest
Dylan called a lock and he was correct. Dylan needing a win to secure his spot safely outside of the Cabana-zone came up short in his second to last game of the season. Despite having big games from RoJo, Saints D, and Bass the Kicker, he had letdowns from Zeke, Slayton, and Akers. Dyl will need a big win next week or some help to avoid becoming Cabana Boy. For yours truly, it’s survive and advance at this point. Despite an interesting start on Thursday, I was able to bounce back with some solid games across the board but only had one player reach their projection: Panthers D. Thanks to them and their back-to-back scoop and scores, I was able to grab a win. My mindset again is to survive and advance. My team may look like it’s falling apart right now and it might be.
Team Timshel v. Virgin Red Roosters
This week was an interesting week for Mike. He received some harsh blowback (guilty) from his trade with JP giving away his bell-cow during Tractorcito Season. Despite his risky move, he was still able to put up a good week thanks to big games from Chubb, Amari, A.J., and Hayden. Mike will have to live with the results from his trade and hope that this week was just a flash in the pan for his former RB. For Al, he could’ve made up some ground in the playoff race but his risky Cardinals play did him no favors. Together, his four Cards scraped together less than 26 points and his only double-figures scorer was his D. Al’s going to have to pull out a big win next week and some help to make his way into the playoffs.
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Hank Mardukas
In the battle of dark magic, Scott’s ran out. We were used to seeing Scott scrape by and weasel his way to victories but his luck wasn’t there this week. Scott had two players meet their projections: Fitzmagic and Deebo. Everyone else didn’t hit double figures. Again, not outside the norm for Scott but disappointing nonetheless. G didn’t have the most productive week of his career but it was enough to beat Scott. Thanks to big games from his Rodgers/Adams combo, Engram, and Cards D, G was able to continue to secure his spot in the playoffs.
Mixon It Up v. Wilmore Cinderella
Robbie needed a win but didn’t stand a chance this week. Our current Cabana Boy put up a not-so-great 85+ but it’s not like it really mattered. He had big games from A-Rob, Rubbie Anderson, and Gronk. Unfortunately, he suffered the most from his D which ended up with -5 points thanks to JP’s new running back. That new RB was Derrick Henry (37.5), who, along with Deshaun (33.12), and Gibson (34.1) singlehandedly beat Robbie alone. Some other big games led JP to our second-highest point total on the week. Is JP the team to beat now?
Tua Days v. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
Poor Vinny, he had a chance to take a playoff spot and put up a respectable 124+ points but ran into the buzzsaw that is Week 12 Magorium. For Vin, his RBs went shot for shot and scored 22.8 each and he had big games from four other playoffs to give him a good point total on the week but had no shot. Gabe had the best week of his life thanks to big games from Tyreek, Brady, J-Rob, Wash D, and his diamond in the rough: Younghoe Koo. Some people believe that you’re only allotted a certain amount of points out of your players and there’s a risk of using them up. For Gabe’s sake, he better hope he didn’t.
The Perfect Ten v. Debbie Rowe
Some people have said (not me) that Jake can’t close. I would never say it but, for those who do, he’s making it easy for them. His game came down to the wire but was ultimately lost on Monday night. Jake had three players surpass their projections in Jefferson, Wayne, and Rams D. We can always look at the moves we did or didn’t make but Jake’s time to figure out his lineup is now and he can’t afford to miss this week. E continued to secure his spot and move up the playoff seeding with big games from Mahomes, DK, and Fuller*. Losing Fuller is a big hit for E but he’ll have to figure out how to win and that’s what champs do.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Week 11
Fellas,
We’ve got two weeks left in our regular season and it’s anyone’s game. Some teams are pretty much locked into their playoff spot while others are clinging to theirs. Oh, and the Cabana Boy race is still up for grabs. Also, the Cats are back.
Mixon It Up v. Viking Quest
Get wrecked, Rob. In one of this league’s oldest rivalries, I took control early and didn’t let up. Robbie only had two players score in double figures: Big Ben and his accompanying kicker. That’s the only bright spot for his team and frankly a great example of his team thus far in the season. Our current Cabana Boy hasn’t found his groove this season and is in danger of joining an exclusive club no one wants to be in. For your Commish, I had a couple of 20+ point scorers on the week with big games from Keenan and Kel(ce); add in good games from Cam and DJ and I got a much-needed win. Still struggling to pick the right Colts RB but when I do, watch out.
Tua Days v. Virgin Red Roosters
Two teams who have taken risks in their own respect, Vinny was able to top Al in this matchup. Vinny sidelined Tua (who got benched) in favor of Lamar but was able to secure the win thanks to Devante, Chase, Andrews, and Rodrigo. The thing that came back haunt Al was the one Cardinal player he didn’t have: Kenyan Drake. Drake scored 14 points which was more than enough to beat Al. For Al, his Cardinals did a decent job with Kyler scoring 20+. He even scored big games from Waller and a welcome back performance from Thomas but it still wasn’t enough. Unfortunately, a kicker with -1 and an RB with 3.4 just isn’t enough to get Al the victory.
Team Timshel v. Hank Mardukas
In a battle of league “powerhouses”, we saw a defending champ take on someone who hasn’t scored 100 points since week four. We’ll start with Mike, who had one of his worst weeks in his fantasy career. Despite a twenty-point performance from Russ and a near-twenty from Tractorcito, Mike only had one other player in double figures and two zeroes on the team this week. Not so great. Mike was so mad he traded away his star RB but potentially fleeced JP. For Scott, his team may in fact be cursed after his attempt at dark magic early on in the season. Sure he had Thielen and Patrick with good games but the story is one that impacts more than just his team. For the third time this season, Scott has had a player go down with a season-ending injury as Joey B destroyed his knee. PVO for Joey B but we have to ask: is this Scott’s fault?
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Wilmore Cinderella
An absolute shootout between these two teams led to some last-minute drama and a classic JP scare. G came up just short despite big performances Dalvin, Diontae, and his GB combo of Rodgers and Adams. Where did G fall short? His having to play Burkhead backfired after he tore his ACL and couldn’t put up the points needed to surpass JP. For JP, our resident collapse team, he finally was able to win a game that came down to primetime. Thank goodness this didn’t go to a Monday night. For one of his best games of the season, he had good games from AJ, Lockett, Gibson, and his lucky charm on SNF: Jacobs. The biggest advantage was obviously Deshaun, who he tried to shop in his recent weeks. I guess Deshaun got the hint and put up 30+ points to secure the win. To celebrate he made another trade, which we’ll see how that turns out.
11-4-1 PVO v. Debbie Rowe
Dylan needed this one. Dylan has always flirted with the Cabana Boy role but has always avoided it. Big games from Herbert, Zeke, Williams, Gordon, and Nawlens D helped him create a game lead between him and Rob for the race to CB. Dylan will stave off Rob for the role over the next couple of weeks. Jake on the other hand has had a rough turn of luck this season. A team with a reputation of not being able to close seems to be clinging to life. His replacements in Hyde and Kirk stepped up and a big game from Clyde kept him in it. However, he would’ve had to know the perfect lineup with too many moving pieces in order to win. As Jane’s #1 fan, I still believe in him; even if he doesn’t.
The Perfect Ten v. Mr. Magorium*
I don’t make the rules. As your commish, I still have to adhere to the ESPN rules and Gabe found a loophole. A likely disgruntled E had big games from Mahomes, Davis, DK, and Cleveland D. He, unfortunately, had to go up against a two QB lineup. Gabe had two twenty point performers this week: one was a WR and one was a QB disguised as a Flex player. Taysom scored 24.42 at the flex role despite playing QB this week. As commish, I can’t do anything about it but what I can do is this: *. This game (and potentially season) will always have an asterisk.
Week 12:
11-4-1 PVO v. Viking Quest

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Week 9
Gents,
We’re almost towards the end of the season and there’s still a lot to come. Plenty of teams are in the hunt and some will separate from the back, for better or for worse. On to the recap:
Team Timshel v. Viking Quest
I haven’t fully decided on how to exactly pin this on JP but it has to be his fault. A Jared/Jarrod on MNF with a dependence on a Patriots RB? Yeah, he started this and now I’m being affected. Not cool, JP. This win for Mike comes with an asterisk and I’m counting this as a loss for Wilmore. I decided to not play Cam and that came back to haunt me. I only really had good games from Kennan and Kelce. Kamara didn’t do much despite the big win and my RBs are starting to concern me. For Mike, a big game from Chark and a miracle game by Russ kept him afloat. Normally when your two starting RBs only amount to 8.4 points you end up with a loss but despite having four turnovers, Russ ended with 22.1 and a victory for Mike. Back to back champ? We’ll see.
11-4-1 PVO v. Virgin Red Roosters
With a new name comes a big victory for Al. The incumbent Cabana Boy can give all the praise to Kyler who popped off for an easy 37.92. His Cardinals have been keeping him steady these last few weeks and even had a 20+ spot from Kirk on his bench. Al has separated himself from the Cabana Boy spot over these last few weeks but no one is safe just yet. For Dylan, he’s trending in the opposite direction. A guy who just can’t seem to find the right QB seemed to start the season off on the right foot with a good draft but hasn’t been able to put it all together. Three players scored in double figures and a bulk of his points are thanks to Scary Terry McLaurin. We can all play the “what-if” game but for Dylan having Brady go for 2.36 with Herbert getting 23.44 and Slayton getting 1.3 and Curtis putting up 22.3 is a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully, he can turn it around quickly or he’s in danger of pouring Gabe fireball shots all weekend long.
The Perfect Ten v. Hank Mardukas
Scott had been rolling. Finally finding the right groove but this week he fell flat and the balloon seemingly popped. For the victor E, he had two 30+ point scorers in Mahomes and CMC. He also had big games from DK and Fuller but now his concern has to go back to CMC. Crisp-tian MunchCrunchfrey is in danger of going back to his injured self which is disappointing for E’s hope of finally getting him back. Scott only had two players in double figures this week thanks to Jonnu and a big game from Drew “Jeezy” Lock. Scott’s seen his fair share of injuries this season with Dak and Saquon, one alone is tough. He’s been able to piece it together and limp along the way but now it’s looking like reality might be hitting him with full force.
Tua Days v. Wilmore Cinderella
Vinny might be in trouble but let’s focus on the good: Tua scored more than Lamar this week. That’s a good thing, right, Vinny? Too bad you didn’t start him; however, it wouldn’t have mattered. Outside of Lamar’s 18.6, he had two players in double figures with Cooks (15.8) and Claypool (11.3). Not great. Vinny has said that he’s trading Dolphins wins for Fantasy losses but it’s still sad to see his team become what it is: a bunch of losers. PVO. He’ll need to step it up in next week’s big matchup with bragging rights for an entire city on the line. For Wilmore, he’s potentially writing his Cinderella story right before our very own eyes. Sure he’s 4-5 but he’s won three out of his last four and could there be a small run to end the season? He had enough this week thanks to Deshaun, AJ Brown, and Jacobs. He’ll need to string along some wins to keep the magic going if he wants to make another run at the title.
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Debbie Rowe
106 points are nothing to scoff at. Outside of a few teams, Jake would’ve been in the fight in most matchups this week. Unfortunately, he ran into a buzzsaw that is Jon West. We’ve always worried about G in October but November the new October? 2020 is a weird year and for G it may just be extra spooky. Jake had a good showing from Allen (36), Gallman (14.2), and JuJu (USC Trojans Fight On - 18.3). Obviously, that wasn’t enough to topple G but what more could you do? For G, there was a lot more he could and did do. The NFC North (some say the NFL’s toughest division) powered him this week and it all started on TNF. Rodgers and Adams combined for over 50 points and Jake thought he had a chance if McKinnon was held without a score. Well, that didn’t happen and, it turns out, McKinnon didn’t even matter. The story for G has been Dalvin. A man on a mission and going nuts. Yards and tuddies have been his only focus the last two weeks and he’s delivered. Nothing else Jake could have done despite dealing with injuries and byes. Jake will bounce back but can G keep up this pace?
Mixon It Up v. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
Who won the trade? Well, last week it might have been Robbie but this head to head may say otherwise. Despite getting 8.44 from his QB this week (PVO, Stafford couldn’t practice with the ones all week and has been cleared from concussion protocol) he was able to pull out the win. Gabe was tipsy after the 1pm halftime so thankfully he didn’t need to do much coaching with Tyreek’s 28.6 and 16.3 from Diggs. Robbie had a chance on SNF but Gronk left him wanting more after a sad performance. He was saved with a few 10+ point scorers and a 25+ performance from Sloppy. Robbie gets Mixon back next week so watch out world.

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recap: Week 8
Fellas,
I’m sure you’re all aware of what took place last night. It was very much a letdown. It’s true. My team did lose in volleyball. It was a bummer but we press on. Speaking of pressing on, on to the recap.
Viking Quest v. Tua Days
Poor Vinny. He may be spiraling at this point as his team isn’t finding the success he once had in his team. What doesn’t help is when your star QB accounts for FOUR turnovers. Sure, those 8 points don’t seem to make a huge difference with a score discrepancy such as ours but it all adds up. His D got zero, his kicker -1. Just a tough week for Vinny as he doesn’t surpass 66 points. For me, I got help from my faithful Ks: Kamara, Keenan, and Kelce. Those three combined for almost sixty points and with a few other players, I was able to seal the deal.
Virginia Reel Rockets v. Mixon It Up
As of now, it looks like Robbie won his trade against Gabe. Despite less than nine points from his QB, his other players stepped up. Gio (21.3), A-Rob (17.7), Marvin (17.4), and Indy D (15). With those alone, he almost surpasses Al. Is getting Mixon the spark Robbie needed? For Al, his tough season continues. Last year’s Cabana Boy has continued to hover over that role and is in danger of becoming a repeat-CB. Al had three players in double figures: Gurley (10.6), Pit D (13), and Davis (22.8). Perhaps he’ll bounce back once his Cardinals are off of their bye week but he’ll need a solid stretch over these last few games to fight for a playoff spot.
Miami-Dade Matthews Band v. 11-4-1 PVO
In four out of his six wins, Scott has scored less than 100 points and is currently the lowest point-scorer. He pulled off a miracle on Monday night when he won with a very poor 75.56 points. Fortunately for him, his opponent only had 73.36. Scott, who has now won five in a row, was vaulted to victory really thanks to Fournette’s simple 8.6 points on MNF. Outside of that, he had only three players in double figures: Burrow, Succop, and Gaskin. War-Room Dylan, who now sits at 2-6, hasn’t been terrible but hasn’t been able to put it all together. Tom and Julio were his only players in double figures on the week. His D couldn’t stay up, his tight end is now likely out for the regular season, and Zeke’s success has plummeted along with his offensive line. Dylan has always found a way to stay out of the CB slot these past two years but is in danger of falling back into the abyss.
Wilmore Cinderella v. The Perfect Ten
Speaking of Cabana Boy, our champion/CB has been a dealmaker over the last few weeks. Wheeling and dealing make for an exciting league but doesn’t always equal points. For JP, he found success from Matty Ice, Jacobs, Dobbins, and a big showing from Philly D. However, he was really let down by his TE and surprisingly Lockett. Lockett and DK seem to ebb and flow as the other succeed. Speaking of DK, scoring 34.1 for E is a solid start for a win. Oh, and Mahomes had 36+ which helped the rest of their players have decent games and be enough to surpass JP. Despite losing Golladay, he was helped out by Conner, Ebron, and Fulgham. Is E looking to repeat and create a dynasty?
Debbie Rowe v. Team Timshel
Can Jake close? People are starting to say no. As a former favorite this season, Jane has slowly lost three out of his last four and his win was the only time he scored above 100. Should he be concerned? Well, only having three players in double figures: Kupp (16.5), Boyd (16.6), and a low from Josh Allen who has failed to score 17 points in his last four games. For Mike, he survives by scoring less than a hundred points and that can really be attributed to two players: Chef Russ and Henry. Mike’s team is looking pretty good at the right time and, in this game, it’s all about timing.
Prof. Lupin’s Wonder Emporium v. Kalabar’s Revenge
Spirits were flying around. Flying! But, in the battle of dry cheeseburger v. fireball shot: Kal wins. G put it all together this week with 20+ games from the Rodgers/Adams combo but there was another high scorer in the NFC North Battle: Dalvin. Dalvin scored an insane 47.6 points and separated the boys (Gabe) from the men (G). Is G going to be a problem? Only time will tell. For Gabe, he has now lost his last four games after winning three in a row. How can he get there? Well playing the right quarterback. Jimmy G gets hurt and leaves with less than two points and Brees sits there with 19.6 points. He did have good games from Jamaal, Tyreek, and Aiyuk. He’ll need a stretch of wins if he wants to secure his spot in the playoffs.
Week 9 Matchups:
Team Timshel v. Viking Quest 11-4-1 PVO v. Virginia Reel Rockets The Perfect Ten v. Miami-Dade Matthews Band Tua Days v. Wilmore Cinderella Kalabar’s Revenge v. Debbie Rowe Mixon It Up v. Prof. Lupin’s Wonder Emporium *Game of the Week*

The Den Fantasy League Weekly Recaps: Week 7
Fellas,
Here is my current situation. It’s Tuesday afternoon a little before 2pm. I’ve been up since 5:30am and woke up with a pain in my neck/back. Must’ve slept wrong but I’m writing this in pain. So much so I have a heating pad on and almost bought a massage gun. Hurt or injured? Who knows. Oh, and I have a volleyball tournament and my Dodgers have a chance to clinch a World Series tonight. The important thing is that I’m writing this while watching Halloweentown. Really the only thing getting me through this. On to the recap.
The Perfect Ten v. Viking Quest
E seemed to be rolling coming into this week and his record was two games above .500. Unfortunately, our previous champion struggled to put up points and couldn’t even reach 80 points. His highest scorer on the week was Golladay (14.4, One Pride), and really only found production from Conner and Fuller. Weirdly enough, E only secured touchdowns from two of his players: Mahomes and Fuller. Touchdowns = points, and E ended up with neither. I had a pretty good week and, despite going a double TE set, was able to have all but three players in double figures. Big games from Kamara, DJ, and Keenan helped secure the much-needed victory for Viking Quest.
Kalabar’s Revenge v. Virginia Reel Rockets
We’re in the heat of the spooky season and Al might have done the impossible: beat Kalabar this close to Halloween. Al and the Cards helped secure his win this week with big games on SNF. Kyler, Hopkins, and Kirk combined for almost 75 points alone and he found an additional 20+ points from Gurley on MNF. Is VRR clicking at the right time? Speaking of right time, G got into spooky season putting up a respectable 115+ points but he ran into an impressive week from VRR. G was led by his Packers (Rodgers, 27.32; Adams, 38.1) as well as a big game from Ridley. G was disappointed by his RB efforts which rewarded him with 3.4 points. The good news for G? He goes into Halloween weekend against an old foe: Mixon It Up.
Fire Jarn v. Miami-Dade Matthews Band
In the battle of the boys in the north, Robbie went back to his old ways and is slinking down to the bottom of the pack. He wasn’t our lowest-scorer on the week but he did still struggle to put points up. Having only four players in double figures will do that. If Rob picks the right QB he might have a chance to beat Scott but maybe he didn’t even check his lineup. Classic Rob… Scott on the other hand has been embracing his Miami name change and Mr. 305 is having a sneaky good season. Scott also had four players in double figures but benefitted from a big Sunday from Joey B’s Ds & Bs. His 33+ point performance helped seal the deal for Scott and he moves to 5-2.
11-4-1 PVO v. Wilmore Cinderella
Dylan was coming off a big win last week and appeared to have finally found some momentum but unfortunately for him, he hit JP on a perfect week. Dyl put up a good 118 and was led by Herbert (38.48), McLaurin (18.5), Buff D (16), and even Julio (13.7). Dylan sits at an unfortunate 2-5 but might be getting momentum at the right time for a playoff run. Now on to JP. Is he destined to win again? I’m not one to guarantee anything but, if I were, I would seriously consider putting my money on him winning it all. Some would say there’s no way he could lose it. Not me of course. For his performance this week, JP was led by Deshaun, Gibson, AJ, Godwin, and I think someone else. Am I missing someone? Oh, that’s right. Just a simple FORTY-FIVE POINT PERFORMANCE from Tyler Lockett. I know this is a rare occasion but hard to not be impressed by such a performance. Again, not guaranteeing. I couldn’t. But...
Tua Days v. Debbie Rowe
Speaking of guaranteeing, I will not be making any such guarantees for Tua Days. Sure Vinny had some bye-week issues but he came close to being doubled-up on the week. Vinny had three players in double figures but none worthwhile. Led by his TE, D, and Kicker, those aren’t the guys you need to perform in order to get a win. PVO to Dalton who got wrecked and only put up 2.6 points. Maybe Vinny can bounce back after the bye. Jake showed some mercy to Vinny by only putting up 107, a decent showing but not his full potential. HIs big scorers on the day were Boyd, Kreamy, and Prater-zone. Josh Allen might be going back to his old ways, something Jake can’t afford going into the playoff hunt. People are beginning to say Jake can’t close. Would hate for that to become the narrative…
Team Timshel v. Prof. Lupin’s Mixing it up
Our final matchup of the week finds our previous champ taking on a team just trying to piece things together. Mike again finds himself towards the top of the league with a win this week. Mike had big weeks from Russ, Henry, DJ, Higgins, and SF D. Mike’s team is looking to put everything together and pull a repeat out. Something that hasn’t been done in this league in back to back seasons. Gabe is finding himself in a state of flux. Battling outside spirits and perhaps his own internal demons, he’s trying to find his groove at the right time. He was able to piece together a decent backfield on the week and even had a twenty-plus performance from his D but having OBJ tear his ACL on the first play Sunday didn’t help. As mentioned, Gabe will take on Kalabar this weekend. Halloween weekend. This is dangerous territory for a team that could really use a win right now.

The Den Weekly Fantasy Recap: Week 6
Gents,
We’re already into Week 6 of this season and a lot has happened. We’ve had to adapt, we’ve had to defend against Kurses, and we’ve had to make some name changes to spice things up. All this and we’re basically halfway from the finish line of the regular season. It’s about to get real.
Viking Quest v. 11-4-1 PVO
I’m sorry. I truly am. Dealing with some bye-week blues, I didn’t stand a chance against Dylan. Even with a 30 spot on my bench with Matty Ice (classic Falcons), I still wouldn’t have had a chance. I had three players meet their projections this week (Taylor, Moore, and Kelce) and the rest really couldn’t put up a fight. Another bye-week issue coming up but I can’t complain. I have to win. No excuses. Speaking of winning, congrats to Dylan. He came into this game tied for last place but was able to seal his second win on the season. Despite fumbling issues from Zeke, Dylan had 75+ points from three players alone: RoJo, Julio, and Kittle. Those alone beat me and the rest was just an insult. Dylan looks to continue his winning streak and create some distance between himself and the bottom.
Virginia Reel Rockets v. Team Timshel
Poor Al. Despite being our fourth higher scorer on the week, he ran into a week-leading Mike for a tough loss. Surprisingly, Al was able to score as much as he did with four (4!) players from the same team in his lineup. Unfortunately for him, only Kyler and Kirk had good enough games to get him some solid points. Mike also went with the teammate approach to his starting lineup and had nearly 70 points amongst Tannehill and Henry. Oh, and his kicker got 20 points. Mike’s team is starting to look good and getting into champion form.
Miami-Dade Matthews Band v. Kalabar’s Revenge
Yes, you are reading that correctly. In a battle of who loves Miami more (Scott and Vinny) the former went all out and changed his team name. In our lowest-scoring game of the week, Scott’s name change was in the aftermath of victory. Scott actually had only two players meet their projections Tim Patrick (who?) and Pats D. That’s it and yet he somehow pulled out the win. G had three players meet their projections but unfortunately, those were the only players he had in double figures. His biggest disappointments could be his Packers (Rodgers & Adams) who missed their projections by 23.5. They combined for 12.9 of which Rodgers had 3.8. Not great. G is going to need to shake off the bad juju before October ends because who knows what November will look like.
Wilmore Cinderella v. Fire Jarn
In the battle of bad-ballers, JP took on Rubbie, and just like basketball JP won. Again. How did JP shock the world? Well despite his RBs providing virtually nothing, he had big games from Deshaun, AJ, and Chase. Could JP return to championship-form or his destined to be Cabana Boy again? Speaking of Cabana Boy, the guy who doesn’t want to see JP as CB again gave him a victory he desperately needed. Robbie only had three players in double figures but only one of those actually met their projection on the week. Starting the wrong QB definitely didn’t help but that’s the risk of fantasy. Who is Rob this year? Is he reverting back to his old self or is getting a slow start to duplicate his solid season last year? Only time will tell.
Debbie Rowe v. The Perfect Ten
Jake knew going into this one he had a slim chance of winning. His prediction came to fruition this week as he lost by a solid thirty points to E. Jake’s bad vibes led his team to only having two players reach their projection on the week: his D and Clyde. Fun fact: Clyde is allergic to touchdowns. Another fun fact? Sure! If Jake starts Justin Jefferson and Bucs D this is a whole new conversation. Does JuJu deserve to be benched? Did he let his deep love for Rodgers blind him from playing a good D? Maybe. Maybe. E is slowly starting to look like a champion once again. He actually only had three players meet their projections: Conner, Fuller, Phins D. Luckily for him Fuller greatly surpassed his projection, and everyone really just pitched in. Are we concerned that E will win the league again and embarrass us all? Yes.
Mr. Magorium’s Mixon It Up v. Tua Days
Speaking of Miami, that team/city has been the hot topic of our league lately. In a battle of trash-talkers, Miami’s “own” won the battle of talk in a pretty convincing fashion. Gabe fell just shy of 80 points on the week and failed to have a player reach their projection on the week and his best player (Mixon it Up) scored 13.9 points. Unfortunately, he made the wrong play in leaving Swift on the bench but that still wouldn’t have been enough. Miami’s “own” had four players reach their projection including 28+ from Lamar and Kenyan and 11+ from Bears D and Raaaaaaaaandy (Vinny will get that one; Aziz, look it up). Oh, and Cooks scored 17+, a true shocker. Vinny is going to let his game do the talking and let’s hope that, for this year, his game will step up.
