How to overcome the flesh
by Sinclair Ferguson
1. Be honest about the presence and nature of sin continuing in your life. Paul was. In Colossians 3:5-9 he recognizes that the seeds of sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language and lying, may remain in true Christians and plague their lives.
2. See the sin which continues to indwell you not in the light of your perspective but in the light of God’s judgment. Any and all sin merits His wrath.
3. Remember who you are as a Christian. You have been crucified, buried and raised with Christ (Col. 3:1-3). Consequently you are no longer under the reign and rule of sin (Rom. 6:14,18). Now you must set your mind on Christ and on His reign in your life, and express your new identity in Christ by a life of holiness.
4. Refuse sin. Do not compromise with it; rather, put it to death (Col. 3:5).
5. Fill your life with Christ-like characteristics. (“Put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”, Col. 3:12). In this way you will leave less and less room for sinful ones (v. 12-17).

Last night I met the devil
He took me on a hell ride
Doing things That I would do
But even I have my limits
How far would you go?
If you could have anything u want
Oh what a cost you’d pay
Just to get a ticket to gold
A dark world awaits, sad and misleading
Dancing with unruly men,
Fighting with unruly women,
Hopeless dreamers
And fairytale believers
When outer beauty isn’t enough
What do you have left
Nice shoes, they say.
Classic car with candy red paint.
What do you do?
Oh nothing, just a degree and a half.
Nothing more after that
But I look good in my car right?
Right.
Only getting dressed to be seen but not to see
What more will you lose!?
Have you not already sold your soul to the world?
But even I have limits.

The only life I Want to live ❤️
Thoughts
Our thoughts determine our reality. Especially, being a Christian our thoughts play a key role in representing us as a righteous person. How are our thoughts? Are they positive? Or Are they selfish and evil?
Proverbs 23:7 says," As someone thinks within himself, so he is." Changing your thoughts will change your reality. If you think positively, you can face your reality in a positive way. Always keep your thoughts on fulfilling God's will in your life. Avoid evil and selfish thoughts. It can ruin your reality. If you tend to get distracted by negative thoughts, fight it with God's word.
Romans 12:2 says," Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will." Renew your thoughts with the word of God. It will help you to fix your focus on what's good. Do not think negatively about anyone. It can ruin your own peace. Fill your mind with God's word and He will fill you with good thoughts.
Actions
As they say, " Actions speak louder than words." Prove you're a Christian, not only through your words but through your actions. The world has heard enough gospel. There are people out there who are really in need of God's love which can't be given through words. Anyone can proclaim the gospel but it takes courage to show it through your actions. Be one such!
James 3:13 says," Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom." God expects us to life a life of good deeds. Many people taste God's love through our life experiences. So make sure you live up to what you read in the Bible. I know it's not easy. But try. When you start practicing to live according to what you read, it does make a difference.
Conversations
Some people like to always sit idle and gossip all day long. Did you know every word that comes out of your mouth describes you as a person? Are your conversations cultivating true values? Or Are they ruining someone's dignity? Ponder!
Ephesians 4:29 says," Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Our conversations should not involve gossips, evil talks, malicious talks etc.... Always let your words be encouraging, inspiring, glorifying God.
In Matthew 12:36 we read, " But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken." Remember we have to give account of every word that comes out of our mouth. With this in mind, change your conversations into more meaningful ones and do not open your mouth unless it's necessary. There's a proverb that says, " If speech is silver, silence is gold." Know when to speak and when to remain silent. This is one the most important trait that we Christians need to possess. Above all ask God for the knowledge to guide you in using your words. He will surely give you the wisdom to follow all these traits. We can live a practical Christian life. Amen 🙏

🌸 To all The Dainty Girls & Women who are more than enough:
I’m 24 years of age and a continuous work in progress ⚠️ lol. Graduated from college, worked until I found a steady job with a decent income and still felt I was missing something. I dated & slept with guys I didn’t love 💔 (some I thought I did at least), smoked weed and indulged in drinking. Occupied my time with people and things that didn’t benefit my well being and in the end, all I ended up with were regrets, shame, and sadness from all the time I wasted. 😪 Even now as I’m writing this, I feel I am not where I want to be; however, I know it’s not about where ‘I’ want to be but where my Savior has me. #Jesus. 😇✝️ I would condemn myself for my short comings and mistakes. DO NOT THINK LIKE THIS ❌‼️ It’s like death to your spirit & mind. Please understand that the very God I speak of loves you more than your mistakes. He loves you so much, he has given you grace over your life 💙 Grace, to not let the negative decisions define who you are. Grace to overcome your failures, emotions, and mindset. Even now as I write this, I am jobless and unmotivated at times about my future. Yet I know that what the future holds for me is bigger than myself. 🌅 I admit that I need a renewed mind and spirit & the way I’ve been operating has not released my full potential and gifts I have to offer. I owe it to myself and to my mission to do better, be better in Christ. This journey I’m on is not easy but it’s one that will be worth it. 🎯 To anyone who happens to find this post, please understand that we all have phases in our lives when we are uncomfortable/unhappy with where we are, but that’s just because God wants to take you higher! 🌟 He is shifting your circumstances and sculpting you for the next level in your life. 🏆 Get comfortable with being uncomfortable because your breakthrough is here! ✨ Always remember: YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR 👑
