A Song About Nothing* Early in February 2013, I was inspired to take the RPM Challenge, which is a month-long endeavor to create 10 songs and record them in the month of February. I had a head of steam, writing and recording Wakey Wakey!, Sundown, It’s Too Late for Melatonin, Smile, Middle Asia, Satori in G-Vegas, and A Song About Nothing all within that month and then stopped. The theme was wrestling with the onset of middle age and all that it entails. Time moved forward and I thought about scrapping the entire project. Then came February 2014. I realized that I had other songs along the same theme and began thinking about a longer compilation. Over the course of a week, I tracked the songs, wrote a new song and produced this effort. These are songs and demos scattered over the course of two years. Some I have performed at open mic nights, and some I will never play again. I do not aspire to be a musician. For me, music is catharsis. I think you’ll get that pretty quickly. Take it for what it is, and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to: My wife for all her love and support, Craig Landry for our Armadillo Grill/Peasant’s Pub practices and listening to everything I ever recorded, and Mark Alves for always encouraging me. * Words and music: Clifton Watts # Words and music: Craig Landry All instruments, production and recordings by Clifton Watts

We lost a champion for humanity and nature yesterday. He was also a pretty good musician. Thank you, Pete Seeger. http://nyti.ms/1b43Fjz

Great mix of Somali Music (not sure where the MTV Hive reference comes into play--maybe because of how it's mixed?). Big ups to Awesome Tapes From Africa.

Delta Mainline's "Radio" set is our SoundCloud set of the week. The seven-piece outfit from Edinburgh, Scotland can rip the roof off with the best of them.

What about the Ding Dong? Why was it lost in all the Hostess hype? Twinkies suck.

The Holiday Crowd's "Never Speak Of It Again" has a very familiar sound...
I wonder what Messrs Marr and Morrissey think?

This is what I should be doing... lying on the floor with guitar, meditating.
