the issue with artists getting into NFTs wasn’t “The Name”, a huge pull of NFTs early in its popularity people were saying was the fact you could sell exclusive digital art (some newgrounds artists did this).

But the thing that made most artist not do it was that NFTs were always and inherently linked to cryptocurrencies. Meaning you had to have the money and time to actually Invest in it if you want an exclusive digital to sell more than the money and time you invested. It was hard as someone who pays rent thru comms to even do that w/o destroying your livelyhood

I think its really shallow to also compare this to closed species and adopts as because those work entirely different from an NFT and don’t contribute to hurrying climate change and fucking our economy while doing it.

Also with that logic you could point at someone buying a physical painting at a farmers market for 350 and go Aha! Like the infamous NFT, hmmm!

I think if nft guys just ran that shit back with the internet and called it something other than nfts and went with the intellectual property angle more than the investor angle, they would capture like the majority of artists.
